That is not surprising. The big corporations contribute huge money to politicians. But, the movement can't be stopped. If they had just labeled it and said "We are confident GM food is safe and maybe even better than non GM food and want people to know it is part of their food", had the down that their would be no controversy now, IMO.

Instead the huge mistrust of government, FDA, USDA big corporations, etc. has mushroomed and the big boys can't stop it. The result should be obvious. Firms selling GM food and fighting the labeling people are having little or no sales growth and losses. McDonald's, Safeway, General Mills, Kellogg, etc are all have trouble for the first time. IMO, it is all due to the "eating healthy" craze than Monsanto and friends caused buy not labeling.

One question for the GM people, "Why are you trying to hide what you say is a good thing? hmmmmmmmm"
