Very nice science lesson all. My initial point is that the further down the spectrum we move, the more regulated the service will become due to potential health risks. I've already read one study suggesting that the energy produced by cell phones in their current state is 3x as likely to cause brain tumors for people using phones for 25 + years. Regulation and health are always a concern when determining value. Risk as well.
