I was sloppy....I should have noticed the preceding period, especially since it was in full view in the historical price listing.
IF all of those purchases were made in the first ten days of October that average price would makes sense.
The discount to the market price that the shares moved at was a lot more than I thought was "normal", which turned out to be as a result of the unprecedented price move. It was certainly a lot more than the "at each conversion there is a maximum of 5% discount to daily market" that we were told was what the agreement called for when the deal was first struck :o)
