Thoughts on your post.(really just a lot of bricabrac grabbed aimlessly from my bricabrac head:)
i think that matter of Iranian Kurdistan and Turkish Kurdistan has become such a common ground between Turkey and Iran that we will see a shift from the history past.
Regards the Salafist/Wahabi, the Sauds that established this emergence of a dying, severe, dark form of the many schools that has been within the history of Islam proved the spawning ground for Al Queda.
Osama bin Laden was remembered by a half brother of being an earnest listener and student of Wahabism, that he would go about his house annoying family with his demands they turn off their radios, it was an offense to Allah; he was only about 16 at tht time.
Those that proclaim that Iran has or will arm Al Queda simply don't understand, wahabism/salafism; and the Iran islam would never arm a group that is so decisively fanatic in the negative to the Shia world.
I have in the past named Sadr's three groups that he has on his enemies list. 1) United States 2) Wahabis and most especially non-Iraqi wahabis 3) Hardcore Baathist(including most especially Saddamist)
i have a post here revealing that the man that is now considered that Numero Uno of the HardCore Baathist, communicates with U.S. and U.S. has escorted him on his trips to Iraq and then his trips back to Damascus.
This info delivered by, of all people, Joe Klein; makes this element quite possibly a reality.
That Joe Klein never mentioned this again, and the story went dead makes me think Klein stumbled somehow into a Top Secret matter.
i have also stated in the past top secret operations that involve the likes of Delta Force, working with Baathist, Wahabis and MEK; to attack Shi'ites can go on WITHOUT the vast majority of military having any knowledge of this.
I can not underestimate how dark U.S. secret operations be---our history in supporting evil groups for our own purposes, with super secret elite forces is a proven part of our history.
But that leads into a long ramble. Jump to another matter

But can Shi'ites and Sunni(non wahabi Sunnis, which far out number Wahabi Sunni) unite.
History says yes, it happened in Lebanon during the Israeli occupation.
We are working in a murky zone here, but i think a significant number of Sunni will work with Shi'ites on the basis of the urgency of their having a common enemy; the U.S.A.
Much here is still to evolve.

Another note, Osama bin Laden's and Zawahiri's hatred is so intense towards the U.S. they can direct Al Queda east to not attack Shi'ites.

i suggested months ago that Zarqawi is likely dead.
His whereabouts or proclamations have ended for sometime--since December.
i feel Al Queda East(Zarqawi being Al Queda West) decided Zarqawi was a certifiable nut case with a dangerous , relentless desire to kill Shi'ites, that Shi'ites were his number one hate.
I will state again, from a classic deep journalistic probe in the NYT about 2 years ago into Zarqawis life before leaving Jordan, this man was i a homicidal maniac that turned into a islamic fundamentalist homicidal maniac.
Whether he lives now or not, he did establish a killer cult, that love nothing better than to kill Shi'ites.
Some of the members are the Kurds that he began with when the leader of Al Ansar.
i remain strongly suspecting that three groups are on a mission to create chaos, The HardCore Baathist, The Sect within the Sect of Wahabism that be insanely anti-Shi'ite and the MEK; as we know the U.S. is working with MEK, and very likely with the HardCore Baathist, i can say they also have some linkage with those wahabis that are also extreme anti-Shi'ite.
The Shi'ites and Sunni of Baghdad had an entrenched peaceful co-existence that INCLUDED Sunnis and Shi'ites marrying.
The incredible upheaval to incite sectarian tension in Baghdad i strongly believe came from outside Baghdad, and the U.S. , in top top secret operations are in alliance with these groups.( Why? For one reason, and very big reason, to make life hard on Muqtada al Sadr, and his drive for a united Iraq)
We have had several reports regards U.S. that indicate U.S. forces were involved in getting free passage into and out of Samarra for the commando explosive experts to do a careful demolition type explosion to blow apart the Golden Dome to and then make an quick vanishment.
Who could instill such evil strategies in this Iraqi mess??
You have to look no further than Perle and the several others that have access to GWB's ear and that believe you CONQUER by destroying a society first.(This is part of Fascism 101)
Our being behind the incitement to create sectarian violence is quite compatible with several minds Bush honors and respects.
Who can we say clearly do NOT want a three state federalism in Iraq?
Muqtada al Sadr and Ahmadinedad.
i don't know if Juan Cole has changed his mind, but when he stated that al Sadr and Iran forming an alliance was preposterous, i countered with his saying that was just damned ignorant.
i see a strong alliance forming between Sadr and Ahmadinejad; and i see in Sadr a man determined to ally with Sunnis not of those on his "hit list"---that number could well constitute 70% of the Iraqi Sunni.
As i said in a recent post Sadr's blueprint and U.S.A.'s blueprint our oppositional.
i state all articles that suggest U.S. is reaching out to Sadr to unify Iraq are rubbish.
i also say Bush speaking AGAIN of troop withdrawal is vacuous propaganda.
If they are ticketed for Iran, while the troops can be rotated to give breaks, the number in Iraq need stay close to the same, so they are already in place to invade Iran.
We can't cut back our troop leve beyond token cut downs--(like the great cut down of 7,000 at the beginning of this year), it simply will not work into their real plans--when you have a foothold never give it up, for if you do, you could never ever get it back.
We MUST expect near 100% dishonesty from the WH.
That newspapers take this stuff seriously, is a sad commentary on what trusting dolts we have in the media now.
For the week i was offline i had to watch national news; and on doing so i feel the full force of NBC/CBS/CNN and ABC betrayal of the function of newspersons should be, as now they are but parrots of press releases they are given.
It is virtually good for nothing but to fulfill there function of keeping the public as ignrant as they are.
i don't mention Fox News, as that is a given, it is a premeditated propagandist venue, this being Murdock's dream come true.
