I for one an not interested in iphones/iwatches, I have moved on. I see a lot of people doing the same. iPhones no longer turn heads.

The thing with iWatches and other wristbands is that there seems to be only two usage models. One is to monitor your health or exercise, and the other is to receive notifications from your phone.

Neither of these is a killer usage - unlike for the first time being able to communicate with loved ones over an Internet connection, out of a device that fits in your pocket - which is what the smartphone offered. That was globally transformative, and even all the icing on the cake (the apps, Facebook, email, etc.) are more compelling usages than what current-gen smart-wearable-devices do.

Until these wearable smart devices do something transformative, they will be a curiosity, and nothing more.

By the way, I'm not snubbing the healthcare benefits stated above. I'm merely saying that *current* healthcare capabilities of these smartwatches (such as tracking your heartbeat or footsteps) are considerably underwhelming enough that mass-adoption is highly unlikely. Meanwhile, phone notifications seems completely superfluous.
