Dude, I could share some horror stories over beers sometime.

Amazon in 1999. I liked it, but it was losing too much money. Took my 50% profits and ran laughing all the way to the bank. That was like 6000% ago. I had to laugh when at the most recent quarterly release they announced a $1 Billion dollar loss.

Google was too expensive at $100. I was going to buy some as soon as it dropped 30%.

Netflix at $50? Too risky considering the competition and lack of original content...and plus...Comcast and other cable companies were going to bleed them to death on slowing their pipe speed. Remember that line of rationale? I wish I didn't.

I could go on and on.

Fortunately, although I didn't buy any Apple at basically $1.47 per share, my buddy bought a ton of it. So I get to go out on his boat whenever I want.
