I tried the same approach, Kevin, and only ended up filling in some of the blanks.

1) EMC shipped 2 petabytes (1,000 terabytes) of Centera in the March 2003 quarter after selling 1 petabyte in the December 2002 quarter and a combined total of 1 petabyte in the June 2002 and September 2002 quarters.

2) NENG booked $8.1M in Centera revenue in the March 2003 quarter after booking $15.4M in Centera revenue in CY2002 and $2.0M in CY2001. Centera was officially launched in April 2002 so those numbers include testing and inventory units.

What is still hard to determine is the level of inventory EMC is maintaining for its 40+ software partners.

This is the first time that EMC has officially used its software partners as the primary distribution channel for a storage platform.

3) Pricing.

EMC CENTERA LIST PRICES
2002-2003
. Protected Raw
Hardware Software Capacity Capacity
.
Centera v1.0('02) $105,000 $100,000 5TB* 10TB
Centera v2.0('03) 64,000 84,000 4TB** 8TB
.
*RAID 1 (mirroring) only
**RAID 1 and Parity RAID

4) Centera v1.0 was introduced in April 2002. Before Centera v2.0 was introduced in April 2003, EMC reportedly had 150 customers implying an average of 27 TB (presumably raw) in Centera installed capacity per customer.

More later.
