Logic would dictate an extension when the cost benefit is entirely one sided. What substance is required beyond the fact of it costing nothing?
AAPL wouldn't say that LQMT can't discover something through R&D or pure chance.
I would argue AAPL's extension portends nothing of significance beyond it's known qualities. That LQMT gets to share IP. Which is significant and arguably the most valuable asset LQMT has.
If I remember the MTA correctly only AAPL can offer an extension.
If we have a point of contention it's that AAPL's renewal has any more significance than it did last year or before.
