I've been out of touch with wrestling since I was graduated from the Big U.

I did catch part of the NCAA finals recently and remembered the thrill I always got watching the matches. I had (still have) a friend who was a high school wrestler. He and I went to every home meet we could when we were at UofM. We also used to go to the gymnastics meets. I think I only saw one basketball game in four years. <g>

The only name I remember from the Michigan roster was Ron Rapper.

Dan Gable sounds familiar but I cannot place the school or time period.

I think Iowa was dominant back in my day ('69 - '73). I remember a heavy weight close to 400 lbs. who could actually move. I believe he won the Olympics as well.
