flipper44,

The main reason [temozolomide] is popular for brain cancer is that it is about the only relatively effective chemo that can readily cross the blood brain barrier.

You mean to say they don't know they can smuggle most anything in by using a peptide from the rabies virus? Don't they read pop science articles? smile

A major obstacle in the treatment of infections and other diseases of the brain is the blood-brain barrier, which prevents systemically delivered therapeutic drugs from reaching the brain. Grantees of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Scientists have now shown that a short protein (peptide) from the rabies virus can carry a strip of therapeutic material into the brain via intravenous administration.

Now if you suggest this method they can call it Flipper Fluid instead of Flipper Contraband as with the imaginary name of Coley Toxins. Ain't nobody stupid enough to suggest Flipper's Rabies to the Brain though some would have you believe Parke Davis did that kind of thing. smile

Best, Terry
