Fool no idea where you are getting this incorrect information. Panik was one of the original 29 who became part of DFI back in late 1999 early 2000. With all the other shareholders from DFI he was moved to DFMI later that year and from 2002-7 he personally funded the company with large loans. He had liens on the loans and foreclosed on them through the courts in late 2007, taking the collateral which was the license, and moved it to Dimension.
Here is an excerpt from an email to all former DFI new DFMI shareholders from DFI/DFMI President Tom Simpson on April 16, 2001. Tell me what you think about it. Keep in mind over 50 people received this email from him:
We had to undo the DFI situation due to bad legal advise and formed DFMI. (DFI was taken anyway outside of California and would have caused confusion). DFMI was formed as a California C Corp. and we started doing business as DFMI. I contacted Robin Haskins who was the founder and President of DFI and asked him to please send me a letter explaining that the Codec that was purchased in the name of DFI was in fact the property of DFMI. He was happy to do that and I received his letter shortly after that. I also informed ISI, who had no problem also, and made note of this with an addendum to the contract. We set the wheels in motion and started developing a company.
