@IH Geek [Meatloaf] @IH Geek [Dave] I can replicate this and I'd think that it's prob a bug that we might want to look at at some point.
No, you cannot participate on a Premium board if you are not a subscriber. Creating a board in the Free Zone would eliminate that issue, but you couldn't ban or restrict Users without Admin discussion.

I actually thought about that, but I'm ASSuming (as @Churak would say) that the system disallows it.
Free Zone:
We've created new categories for Free Zone boards so that non-subscribers can participate there without having to post random thoughts on stock specific boards. If you want to create a new board, you can click on Main Menu and click Create a New Board. In the drop down menu, you would choose Free Zone - topic.
If you are a Moderator on a Premium Board and would like it moved to a category where all Members can participate, you can either ask Admin to make the change manually. Or you can go to Manage and then click on Board Name/Ticker Change. Then use the drop down menu to choose the Free Zone category you'd like to move your board into. Alternatively, you could have a Premium as well as a Free board on the same topic.
I'm using mentions here to alert some Mods from different recently active Free Zone boards so if this suddenly showed up in your mailbox, that's why. :)

@IH Geek [Meatloaf] Can you look at this? If not you, who should I take this to?
With the rules changed back in July, some Moderators decided sticky posts harassing other Members was the way they wanted to use their one sticky post. Admin removed the sticky and warned the Mods. A couple of times they didn't heed this warning (for different reasons) and were removed as Mods. It was pointed out that we should change that wording in the handbook to be more clear that Mods should not sticky posts (or add to the iBox) any content about other Users.
I made the change in one place but there was another one I missed so I just updated it.
She's very small - maybe 5 or 6 lbs. (My daughter's cat is big - stock, tall - prob 15 lbs so she's tiny compared to him). She's the sweetest thing too. Sometimes when she's inside she's just laying there purring even though no one is around or paying any attention to her. But she purrs so loudly you can hear it from 3 or 4 feet away. lol
But when it comes to hunting she is fierce. One day last week she brought us 3! juvenile squirrels in one day. 2 dead (1 we got rid of and one she was in the process of eating when we saw it) and one I guess she was trapping on the back porch for later. Just since then she's brought a bird, a large mouse/small rat and a frog. All alive and we were able to save thank goodness. But, man, it's tiresome, tedious and just gross.
She can come in our house so likely why she's settled on us. Couple that with my daughter took her indoor/outdoor cat to college with her a couple of months ago, so this one I think has decided she's now our cat.
Crazily, I've been to a decent amount of places, but I've never been to NYC.
Yeah, I know, I know...I mean the humblest cheapest ingredients (maybe not Gruyere but that's not really a high end cheese either) and it's $28! lol But I often think that about most prices when we go out to eat these days. And, that's why we go out a whole lot less than we ever have...between prices, silly tipping culture and hit or miss service, we'd rather just stay home. Sigh, the joys of getting old...
This has been updated. Please let me know if you come across any other place it should be revised. Thank you for the follow up. :)
It's not going to be removed but all Users can choose Classic View.
Thanks! I had no clue we had a board about the Olympics!
It was updated here. Where are you seeing that it wasn't?

Did you not read what I replied? They are not mutually exclusive. As much as you continue to want to compare apples to oranges, it's just not the case again.
The boards ARE to talk about the company/stock. That's not the totality of what's allowed though. I go on to state that when I say "while it is allowed more than ever in posts".
The Moderators' Guidelines describe actionable posts.
It would be very surprising to me that you actually spoke with a former iHub employee. BUT! iHub over the years has continually been surprising. :)
Regardless, I speak for all of the iHub team when I say "thank you for your graciousness".
Lol - there ya go again...

Show me where in the TOS that post is a TOS violation:

Lol - my analogies tend to be terrible but I'm one of those people that understand things best by analogies so I try to offer them to others. I'm just not very good at articulating my thoughts in general. @IH Geek [Dave] does a really good job of that and has, in the past, helped me to come up with better ones. I prob shouldv'e asked for his suggestions but all the Geek folks are really busy so tried to go it on my own. Mea culpa?
I guess I should edit to say "However, that's not the totality of the event".
I was trying to illustrate that, yes, the boards are for discussion of stocks/companies. But, that's not the totality of what's allowed on the boards.
Edit: Fixed
For whatever reason, I went down a rabbit hole and wondered what the menu at Russian Tea Room menu was:
https://russiantearoomnyc.com/menus/brunch-sundays-10am/
Oy - $28 for a bowl of French Onion Soup at brunch! I know prices are crazy - I know NY prices have always been crazy...but that's just hard to wrap my head around.
The only thing I know about mandolines is that they are danger to novices. Is this a safer version of them for those of those? (Thinking that from the pic but maybe I'm misunderstanding.)
The new rules were modified - they were not changed back to the old rules.
And, yes, two things can be true at the same time...the boards are to talk about the stock company and no, the post you linked is still not actionable. While they are intertwined they are not interchangeable.
Here's maybe a poor example but the first I can come up with. The Olympics are to celebrate top athletes and watch them compete. That is not all that occurs at the Olympics and that is not all that occurs in the broadcast of the event. Yes, there are very specific guidelines and rules governing each individual sport and that's discussed and debated. However, that's not the totality of the event.
Oh, that's an interesting take.
Btw, Jet Tila has a new show on FN. It's all about teaching people to cook Asian dishes. It's pretty interesting imo. A lot of the ingredients he uses (episode 2 so take it fwiw) are Asian specific and I don't know that we'd want to get them as that specific dish might be the only one we'd make before they went bad. But worth checking out if you enjoy Asian cooking. :)

Ah, interesting. I guess I've never seen MSG before and had no idea it was white. I was considering baking powder/soda though I couldn't fathom putting that in fried rice. But, I also would've never considered baking soda on shrimp would make it "pop" so there's that.
What's the first white substance he puts in? Pretty sure the second one is salt because of the larger spoon. But I can't figure out what the first one might be.

Anyone know anything about cats? Outdoor cat that's sort of the neighborhood cat keeps bringing us animals dead or alive. She brings them through the doggy door on the screened back porch. The conventional approach is to put a collar with a bell on it, but, she'd never wear it (if we could even get it onto her). AND, eating wild animals is how she's survived.
Anyone think if we tried giving her a can of food that might be satisfaction enough? We always have dry food for her and I really, really don't want to introduce canned cat food if I can help it. But, if there's a shot that will curb her desire to bring stuff, I'd likely do it.
@IH Geek [Chuck] not sure if you've addressed this elsewhere
I'm pretty sure that's the iBox for a general stock discussion board...nothing to do with stock specific boards.
Thanks but I avoid politics at all costs! lol
Enjoy your weekend!
We've talked about this before.
Admin's focus is not on general stock discussion boards. It's just not. Our focus is on stock specific boards.
Until/unless there's something on one of these boards that is somehow egregious, they can do their own thing. We tell Members all the time "If you don't like the way a Mod is running that general board, then, start your own and manage however you see fit."
TL;DR: Mods if you want this board moved to free zone, let us know.
As you all know, we're trying our best to clean up stock boards while allowing more ebb and flow of natural dialog without the trolling and bickering. One of the things that we've always known derails stock boards, creates havoc and leads to deletions on stock specific boards is political discussion. Sadly, what people consider "political" these days is far reaching and weirdly triggering. So we've decided to allow political boards outside of the Premium zone (i.e. subscribers only). We are leaving all current boards in the Political category as Premium for those Mods that want to be able to ban or restrict members. Otherwise, if as a Mod, you'd like to open your board to a wider audience, just reply to this with an @IH Admin [Meghan] (former) or @IH Admin [Shelly] indicator or send us a PM.
Alternatively, anyone who has any interest in setting up your own board focused on politics, open to all Members, you can find a new free category here: https://investorshub.advfn.com/boards/boards.aspx?cat_id=308. From that link, you can simply click Create a New Board" and use the drop down menu (yes, it's long and clunky!) to [Free] Free Zone - Politics.
