Gordy and Williams were incredible. I was a big fan of Gordy. Tanaka and Fuji were an incredible Japanese heel time
I wasn't a big fan of Garea or Calhoun but that is just me
Terry Gordy & Dr Death Steve Williams, right up there with Tony Garea & Haystack Calhoun, and Pro. Toru Tanaka & Mr Fuji. My humble opinion. 🍷
.
Ed Wiskowski passed away at age 80. Most remember him as Col. DeBeers. I remember him as Easy Ed the Polish Prince wrestling here in KC. He grew up down the road in St. Joe
He owned the promotion in Indianapolis for years. Heenan got his start there, Raschke first became big there just to name a few
I dont remember him at all, he has a heck of a resume
He was a force and a big star. No doubt. I didn't know all those stories. Lol. He was as tough as Race.
I saw him towards the end of his career(2nd Intercontinental title run). Always liked him. King of the Boston Crab
I purchased a used dvd at a yard sale of the the best wrestlers of all time, all WWE/F. Well I watched it, and no mentioned of Pedro Morales! I threw the damn thing away. There was mention of mediocre wrestlers but no Pedro. I still recall his matches with Stan Staziak( the heart punch). Pedro would annihilate most of the pretty boys of today.
thats what I did too
Funny you say that. My buddies went to a strip club, I literally stood outside of the club with my big beer in my hand. I was people watching and I honestly believe that I had a better time than they did. LOL
entertainment at its finest, drinking in the streets
Very cool. I would have loved that
I spent 48 hours in New Orleans about 2 months before Katrina. I was on Bourbon street for 45-46 of them. LOL
yep, walking down Bourbon st. in New Orleans about 2 in the morning.....there he was with 2 other people, nice guy.
That is pretty damn cool
That is pretty cool. Blassie played that same guy until the day that he died
they were, I was 20 then, good memory
I bet his hands were the size of a baseball glove. Have a great day !
nice, I got to shake hands with Andre the Giant once, only wrestler i ever met
Found my wrestling autograph binder while at the family cabin. Including Bruno Sammartino, Larry Z, Freddie Blassie signed it ' to a pencil neck geek', Tony G & Haystack Calhoun, Vincent Mcmahon, Fabulous Moolah. This was back in the day when you could approach the wrestlers & staff before the matches started, in the north eastern states- small arenas.
I saw that. One of his stops early in his career was here in KC. Wrestled under the named Lord Humungous here
WWE wrestler Sid Vicious, who fractured leg during live match, dead at 63

yea, him and arn were a fun team to watch
I saw that a couple of days after it happened. Great talent. Miserable human being. LOL
Ole Anderson died
child hood memories , he was around for a long time
He was definitely one hell of a wrestler. Could wrestle any style.
Terry Funk, one of the innovators of professional wrestling, died on Aug. 23 at the age of 79.
The WWE Hall of Famer came into the wrestling world in the mid-'60s aand continued some semblance of involvement in the industry for five decades. He held championships in multiple wrestling organizations including the WWF (now the WWE).
One of the original and most iconic "hardcore wrestlers," there was little Terry wouldn't try (no matter how dangerous). Because of his notoriety in the ring, Terry landed roles in some Hollywood films, too, starring in "Road House," "Over The Top" and "The Ringer," among others. He performed stunts in several of the "Rambo" films as well.
Very cool!
Have a great weekend!
Lol - it was my most prized possession for a few years. I hadn't thought about Ric or that memory in years. Nice little trip down memory lane. :)
Y'all have a good weekend!
Thank you!!
This is what we talk about and that is pretty darn cool.
I would have been in hog heaven as a kid. LOL
You're all set!
I'm guessing this is what y'all talk about - my paltry contribution. :)
I once got Ric Flair's autograph at the Asheville airport when I was a kid. lol

Mick Foley said that you have to be trying really hard not to like Jim
he aint dead yet, supposedly coming along
Wow. I knew that he had health issues a little while back but thaought he was doing better
Was always a big fan of his
The professional wrestling world and its fans spent the weekend sending out prayers and well-wishes for legendary in-ring competitor “Hacksaw” Jim Duggan after his wife said he was rushed to the hospital after suffering a medical emergency.
In a statement posted to the WWE Hall of Fame wrestler’s X (formerly Twitter) page Saturday, Debra Duggan said her husband “had emergency surgery this morning and everything went well.”
She provided another update Sunday, along with a photo of Duggan in a hospital bed asleep, and wrote, “Jim is resting comfortably. He is on the mend and will be back on his feet soon. Thank you for your prayers, good wishes and messages. Hacksaw’s fans are awesome.”
Duggan, 69, has twice battled cancer in recent years. There was no report of what the medical emergency was that prompted him to have to go to the hospital. However, according to reports, Duggan was being recognized by the Glens Falls Firefighters Association, where he was a seasonal firefighter in the 1970s, when the incident occurred.
It really does. He looked the same for so many years
time really flies....
We lost Terry Funk yesterday. He was a lot more than just a hardcore guy
"Exotic" Adrian Street passes away at age 82
I always enjoyed him. Always a good worker(until the last couple of years. LOL) and a great heel
he was a beast
sorry to see him go........
Superstar Billy Graham passes away at age 79.
He was Hulk Hogan before there was Hulk Hogan and he was better as well
ahhhhh.....ok
This is a board for fans of old school wrestling. Feel free to post any rasslin info, but I am really interested in old school wrestlers, matches, fueds, and organizations.
I want to offer a little history and ideas that I want to discuss.
The Organizations
NWA(National Wrestling Alliance)--The oldest of all organizations, and most nationwide. It wasn't owned by any one person. It was ran by a board of promoters, similar to the mob.
AWA(American Wrestling Association)--Formed in the 30's.
Mainly upper midwest, Canada and pacific northwest. Owned by Verne Gagne from the late 60's til it folded.
WWF(WWWF World Wide Wrestling Federartion)--Formed in '60-'61 by a small group of promoters led by Vince McMahon Sr. because they didn't want to recognize that Lou Thesz had won the title back Buddy Rogers.
The Promotions
Central States(MO,KS,IA) Owned by Bob Geigel
Mid-Atlantic(NC,SC, VA and KY) Owned by the Crocketts
Mid-South also known as Wild West or UWF(TX,AK,LA,MS) owned by Bill Watts. Reopened 3 years later by Herb Abrams in some of the same territories because Bill Watts didn't copyright the name
World Class(TX and OK) owned by Fritz Von Erich
Memphis owned by Jerry Lawler
Gateway(Mo,Ill) owned by Sam Muchnick
Georgia owned by Jim Barnettt
Florida
PNW Pacific Northwest or Portland wrestling. Owned and promoted by Don Owen until sold in the late 80s to Sandy Barr
Other Companies
WWA(Detroit, Chicago, Milwaulkee) owned by Dick the Brusier
WWC(Puerto Rico) owned by Carlos Colon
ECW(East Coast)
WCW(Southeast US) owned by Ted Turner was Georgia promotion combined with Mid-Atlantic, and Mid-South. Left NWA in mid 90's.
