SAN DIEGO, April 20, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- (OTCQB: VEND) Fresh Healthy Vending will be debuting the Fresh Micro Market: its sleek, consumer-focused, healthy dispensing system, to the vending industry for the first time from April 22-24 at the NAMA OneShow at the Las Vegas Convention Center in Las Vegas, Nevada. This automated and comprehensive modular unit features state-of-the-art software and technology, including: an iOS operating system, iPad technology and a convenient mobile based loyalty application that boasts easy to use features and robust functionality.
According to Founder & Chairman Nick Yates, "this is a high growth, exciting but untapped industry segment for us and our franchisees. Our market and product research and due diligence review of third-party industry options, including a possible acquisition, led us to develop and manufacture the new proprietary Micro Markets that we are proud to introduce today. We fine-tuned the hardware components and powerful software features of our Fresh Micro Markets to present what in our view can become the segment leader that generates rapid market penetration and revenue growth for our Franchisees and our own corporate operations."
The high-tech, self-checkout Fresh Micro Market features cashless payment options (i.e. credit/debit card, prepaid market loyalty cards, Google e-wallet and payment platforms such as PayPal) that are most often installed in corporate locations, allowing for an in-house convenience store with almost no practical size restrictions on items sold while generally eliminating stuck vending products. In addition, Fresh Micro Markets take up the same size floor space as full-size vending machines and allow for multiple product purchases in a single transaction. Further, the Energy-Star rated unit is equipped with camera monitoring with tiered levels of recording based on security needs.
Yates is "excited to introduce the Fresh Micro Market to the industry. I know that there's a place for vending operators to become Franchisees and to take advantage of all of our services. We're extremely eager to showcase this product and to add more Franchisees to our ever-growing network."
The Fresh Healthy Vending booth will be located in space 1642 in the Northwest corner on the South side of the New Exhibitor Pavilion and close to the Mojave Grill.

Fresh Healthy Vending International, Inc. (OTC Markets: VEND), North America's leading healthy vending franchisor, showcased its newly designed Fresh micro market in spotlight broadcast interviews with Brad Perry on KUSI's highly-touted news program "Good Morning San Diego," which aired February 18th. According to KUSI, Good Morning San Diego is the County's most-watched, all-local news show, airing Monday - Friday, 5am -10am, and weekends, 6am-11am.
Held at the Fresh Healthy Vending Corporate office in Sorrento Valley, Brad Perry's interview with Yates provided an opportunity to highlight the Company's newest product, the Fresh micro market, and its recent deployment and installation in more than 30 corporate and reatil locations throughout San Diego county.
The interview provided an opportunity to discuss the growth of the Company's franchise program and product offerings, the types of locations it places machines, and how upcoming laws and the implementation of corporate wellness programs are increasing the demand for healthy vending nationwide.
In late 2014, Fresh Healthy Vending announced its partnership with eMobilePOS, a pioneer in mobile POS and cloud-based software-as-a-service, and LevelUp, a leader in mobile loyalty payments, to launch an integrated solution that allows Fresh micro market operators to process mobile payments and build loyalty direct from the unit's Apple iPad(R) POS system, a first for the healthy vending industry.
With this new integration, the eMobilePOS system provides the full functionality for self-checkout at any Fresh micro market using tablets programmed with QR code and credit card readers. Now in corporate office break rooms, hotels, car dealerships, and yoga and fitness studios among others, the Fresh micro market serves healthy snacks and locally-sourced, fresh meals, salads, sandwiches and wraps for employees and patrons.
The three segments of interviews with Yates aired on Tuesday, February 17, 2015 in the 6 a.m. and 7 a.m. hours on San Diego's KUSI Channel 9 and can be viewed here: https://vimeo.com/120643921.

Cumberland-Pacer Enters Chapter 11 After Losing Hospital Lease

Of DOW JONES DAILY BANKRUPTCY REVIEW
A week after losing its contract to manage a Kentucky hospital, health-care services provider Cumberland-Pacer LLC filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy Tuesday.
The Knox County Fiscal Court, which appropriates local funds, voted last Tuesday to dissolve Cumberland-Pacer's management lease of Knox County Hospital and bring in a new management company, according to the court's judge/executive J.M. Hall. The decision was made after Cumberland-Pacer defaulted on county payments and bounced payroll checks to hospital employees, Hall said.
However, Cumberland-Pacer was technically still in control of the hospital as of Wednesday, and Hall said the county is in talks with attorneys to find out how the bankruptcy will affect the situation.
Craig Morgan, who signed the Cumberland-Pacer petition and is listed as Knox County Hospital chief executive on its website, said last week to local news station KYMT TV, "We have done the things that we have done to keep the hospital going, and it's been a chore."
It isn't clear from court documents whether Cumberland-Pacer intends to liquidate or restructure during its case, but traditionally, a Chapter 11 bankruptcy is used to restructure a company that will continue to operate. Morgan didn't return request for comment Wednesday, nor did the lawyer representing Cumberland-Pacer in the bankruptcy case.
The filing also comes shortly after Cumberland-Pacer resolved a dispute with Pacer Health Corp. (PHLH), having reached a private settlement last week.
The case was filed in 2010, when Pacer Health alleged that Cumberland-Pacer owed it Medicare payments after Pacer Health transferred to Cumberland-Pacer two subsidiaries, one of which operated Knox County Hospital and which both filed for Chapter 11 alongside Cumberland-Pacer.
Cumberland-Pacer's attorney in that case, Robert Walker, confirmed that a private settlement was reached and the case has concluded. Pacer Health isn't listed as a creditor in the bankruptcy case.
The nature of the corporate relationship between Pacer Health, a turnaround company that acquires distressed businesses in the medical and transportation industry, and Cumberland-Pacer is somewhat unclear, but Walker said that there is a complicated corporate affiliation between the companies.
Pacer Health didn't return request for comment Wednesday.
Cumberland-Pacer filed for Chapter 11 with two subsidiaries: Pacer Management of Kentucky LLC and Pacer Health Management Corp. of Kentucky, according to documents filed with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court in London, Ky. Each subsidiary listed between $10 million and $50 million in both assets and liabilities, while Cumberland-Pacer said it has less than $50,000 worth of each.
