One of my favorite Bitcoin explanations:
One day a merchant came to the village to buy monkeys. He announced that he will buy the monkeys at $100 each. Villagers wondered why somebody would want to buy stray monkeys at $100 each? Still, a few people caught some monkeys and sold them to the merchant. This news spread and more people caught monkeys and sold them to the merchant.
Then, the merchant announced that he will buy monkeys at $200 each. The villagers sold the remaining monkeys at $200 each. Then the merchant announced he will buy at $500 each! It took a lot of effort but finally, the villagers caught the remaining six monkeys, and they received $500 each.
Then the merchant announced he will buy monkeys at $1,000 each! The villagers were very sad as there were no more monkeys left for them to sell. Then, the merchant's employee told the villagers that he will secretly sell some monkeys at $700 so that the villagers can make $300. Rich people bought monkeys in big lots. Poor people borrowed money and bought monkeys.
The villagers waited for the merchant to return. But nobody came. They ran to the employee's house. But he was missing too.
Too late, the villagers realized that they have bought useless stray monkeys at $700 each but are unable to sell them.
Bitcoin is the next monkey business. It will make a lot of people bankrupt and a few people filthy rich.
While silver is arguably the most undervalued commodity of all, it continues to be the most manipulated market as well.
There is a new aircraft being made out of rubber polymers, so that it will bounce when crashing. The manufacturer will be Boeing, Boeing, Boeing...
I wonder how much space on the I-Hub servers is taken up with member ignores, just from the GVSI board alone....
I bought more too at .50, averaged at .55 now. Why the dip? I hope it's not dilution...
Not seeing news anywhere?
Todays job report included 378,000 jobs in the "birth/death category, which is simply a guess. Take that out and we had a loss of jobs. They also revised downward the report in Feb. and March. The fabrication of so many lies to fit the narrative of the moment. Powell says on Wednesday we can "draw the line under FRC" for the end of bank failures. Then the same day...This country is in big trouble.
Read the Bible if you want to know how it all ends. Just sayin...
That will certainly be helpful when you're trying to get to a bathroom after eating at Taco Bell!
Once upon a time in a village, a man appeared and announced to the villagers that he would buy monkeys for $10 each.
The villagers, seeing that there were many monkeys around, went out to the forest and started catching them.
The man bought thousands at $10 and as supply started to diminish, the villagers stopped their effort.
He further announced that he would now buy at $20. This renewed the efforts of the villagers and they started catching monkeys again.
Soon the supply diminished even further and people started going back to their farms.
The offer increased to $25 each and the supply of monkeys became so little that it was an effort to even see a monkey, let alone catch it!
The man now announced that he would buy monkeys at $50! However, since he had to go to the city on some business, his assistant would now buy on behalf of him.
In the absence of the man, the assistant told the villagers; "Look at all these monkeys in the big cage that the man has collected.
I will sell them to you at $35 and when the man returns from the city, you can sell them to him for $50 each."
The villagers rounded up with all their savings and bought all the monkeys.
They never saw the man or his assistant again, only monkeys everywhere!
Now you have a better understanding of how the cryptocurrency market works.
Now if Elon Musk would just buy all the McDonalds and promise to fix the ice cream machines...
With the S&P breaking below the 50 day and the VIX up just a tad, I'm guessing more red is ahead. I know a lot of the "recovery" has been from consumer debt. On top of the true inflation affect and the wealth affect diminishing, people will be slowing down, and a recession is a coming. I was going to go out for a burger tonight, but after today, I think I'll heat up last week's pizza.
Unfortunately, this is barely floating.
If the variants were people...
Thanks George. Still brings tears to my eyes every time I read that. We need to open our eyes and look around. There's so much we can do with what we've been blessed with. Merry Christmas!
Do you remember, before the internet, that it was thought that the cause of collective stupidity was the lack of access to information? Well....it wasn't that.
The advertisers and banks have convinced Americans that people who live within their means just have no imagination.
lmfao, lol lmao, same ole same ole
I don't "practice" social distancing.
After 60 years of social anxiety and a general disgust of humanity, I operate on an "expert" level.
False hope is better than no hope.
Who needs a Nigerian Ponzi scheme when we seem to be stuck in one right here?
Of course my daughter and son-in-law picked the top to lock in the price of building a new home. They are checking on the penalty for canceling and starting over.
Sure feels like it. "All we needed was to get current and this puppy was going to fly"
yuck. LOL. LMAO
Looks like more carnage ahead. 'sigh'
When someone portrays themselves as an expert in trading, and belittles anyone who questions their expertise, when someone with said expertise constantly says this is going somewhere, i.e. .10, .30, or when someone casts dispersion on people questioning the hopium, or the huge number of shares, and indicates they"know" something, then yes, I deserve to lodge a "darn it". No one has to buy anything. Tell me his "expertise" didn't give you confidence to buy more, and more. I read your posts claiming as much. So do we think this can still actually go somewhere, or are we all subscribing to the greater fool theory, hoping someone dumber than us will bid up the share price? I still have some hope, but trust has been lost. Just voicing what a lot of people are feeling...glty
The doc led me down the wrong path on this one. All the hype for .10, .30, .70... I Averaged up and down to .05, now down 55%. All the promised filings that were going to move this higher are in, and this is still falling. False hope used to be better than no hope. My guess he and others like him are long gone. Only Idiots like me left holding the bag. 'sigh'
Has doc given up on this too?
My doctor told me to watch my drinking. Fortunately, most bars have mirrors...
MM's are market makers. Some market makers like PAUL and CDEL are known for being used to dump stock into the market, aka as dilution. When they show up selling and the ask size doesn't change, there's a good chance the company or company debtors are diluting or converting. This is quite apparent if you ware Watching Level 2.
I think the fear of missing out brings people back in when it gets anywhere near filling the gap. I know I'd rather pay a few 10ths extra and have it in hand. Usually those gap fills are too quick to try and buy at the bottom. Somebody else can make the extra 10% on the low end, and at the top. Just let me have the middle 80%!
My friend said his son was trying to get a government job.
I said what's he doin now? He said "nothin, he got the job".
What is?
It takes money to make money. And as it turns out, it also takes money to lose money.
A little frustrated during the Monday mania when a couple of market orders didn't execute for a few minutes. Today eTrade gave me a "delayed execution cash credit". Kudos to them.
In NOK as well. Averaged down a bit today. Also picked up more POWW. I have to believe earnings in a couple weeks will be stellar. This from a guy that told me about SAVA last year at $6, which I passed on, much to my dismay.
Well this hurts
Beautiful!
The last I heard was that they were finishing up the wiring last week and were going to start running some low grade ore through the mill this week to see how everything was running. I would expect we would see news of this sometime in the next week or 2.
Goldman Sachs and Citi see dollar decline of up to 20% in 2021.
What would be the best play on a dollar decline? Thoughts?
