Update on my experience with BlinkRx. I again tried this year to move my Vascepa prescription over to BlinkRx and finally they got it right and were able to save me a considerable amount of money versus Walmart. I have a high deductible plan through Cigna(yes they required a PA) via my wife's company. With a high deductible you pay higher prices until you meet your deductible. My price at Walmart was $498.00 for 3 months with deductible not met and then $9.00 when deductible was met. To my surprise BlinkRx was able to give me $297.00 for three months with deductible not met and we will see what happens when my deductible is met. One interesting thing is they did give me a choice to get V for $297.00 or a generic for free and of course I choose V. Process was easy and fast all through my phone.
Hope this post helps,
I guess we will see at the next investor conference if any thing new is mentioned or just talk of the combo.
New peice of info from the call my wife received about the white proxy. She was working from home today and took the call of course with the usual vote the white. My wife explained the disdain we have for the company and they replied with the refreshed board and excited for what is to come. She went on to grip some more and then was told the company has a new drug. She unfortunately did not pry for more info but I don't recall that info being discussed on the board.
Thanks for the forward of my message and the additional ingo.
Thank you for posting the link I will check it out.
Dr. Mason still testing genericV
I am first waiting on some studies by my colleague Dr. Preston Mason to see if there are biological differences present or not between the formulations.

Anecdotal Vascepa Covid info. My daughter brought home covid from school this week. Her and my wife have typical cold symptoms. I have been on Vascepa for quite a while now and I didn't even know I had it until I got a PCR test done this week. When I say no symptoms I mean nothing. Same for my buddy who is on Vascepa because of me he was the only one in his household to have no symptoms.
I did notice the mention of increased inflammation but as I kept reading further down the article they did clarify it as intentional inflammation, but I am with you that snake will still try to relate it to vascular inflammation but evaporate data should refute that argument.
Well very interesting study below and guess what our buddy Steve Nissan was involved and it completely vindicates mineral oil. Have a read.
My understanding is Reduce-it results would have been better with corn oil because mineral oil made the placebo group look better.

No Form 4's last night. What do we make of this new development?
They are usually always on the last Friday of the month after AH closes.
Did KM kill the program?
I just read a tweet about the passing of Larry King so I replied the following:
"So much for his omega 3 xl helping reduce his inflammation and helping him fight through covid he would probably still be with us if he knew of Vascepa instead."
All other Omega three supplements will show no value due to oxidation, not enough omega3 or for that matter good omega3 left to help the body including gV.
I agree and I know Bhatt has samples in hand as I am sure the company does as well.
Not that I know of and no time to research this. Sorry. I live in the rochester NY area fyi.
Who says they didn't but if they did it obviously does not work.
If you add lemon then does it meet FDA regulations plus dose in not raise a red flag that you are trying to hide the smell. Also V does not have lemon.
Hi 1bill the storage temps listed for genericV are: 68 to 77 degrees.
Sorry I do not have private messaging capability.
I tried to email you and the following is what I got very strange. Sorry I do not have private message capability. I put x's through your email in case you did not want it public.
Sorry, we were unable to deliver your message to the following

I will gladly send you some genericV as I would not have the time to run this experiment.
One more thing to note about smell of genericV versus off the shelf omega 3. When I say they smell the same I mean in level of intensity of the smell. However, each smells like a different type of fish. If I had to guess I would say maybe anchovies for genericV not really sure what fish off the shelf is but if I were to venture a guess I would say salmon.
Hope this helps.
It appears these findings match what I found as well. Thank you for posting. It is always good to have a second opinion.
That would be great. I have the open bottle and the reciept. I assume you need original receipt not a photocopy. One thing is I removed the pharmacy label and discarded it so I could see expiration date is that a problem? Also my email address is: ccardone@yahoo.com.
Done Thank you for the help.
I would not know where to start. If you could point me in the right direction I will check it out but I don't have a lot of free time right now with the holidays fast approaching.
This is my last post for the day.
Yes no difference in look for either capsule looked the same going in as well as when I took them out.
I am surprised that the generic does look very similar to Vascepa.
Vascepa had a very minor smell and no fish taste so I would rate it a 1. To be clear genericV was a very noticeably strong fish smell and very similar to the off the shelf stuff. My scale goes from 1(little to nothing) and 10(makes me want to gag). GenericV could have even been as high as a 7 but hard to quantify. Also it took more than a beer to get the taste out of my mouth.
Generic cost me 10 for a month but I got a 3 month Vascepa for 9 with coupon. The pharmacist when he originally switched me said generic was 20.91 cheaper but not using the coupon.
Sorry for the confusion around the freezer test. I meant frozen or not frozen I would give generic the same smell and taste rating. Therefore it was not affected by the freezer.
Same goes for Vascepa freezer test changed nothing in my rating.
One interesting thing to note is both the generic and Vascepa bottles state "Each capsule contains 1 gram of icosapent ethyl." and the contents of each is 1 gram in weight but the generic has all those fillers.
Update analysis of genericV. I have public replied to my previous post that contained analysis of Vascepa.
The pills weigh 1.45 grams all three pills were very close.
Hear is the really strange thing contents weighs 1 gram same as Vascepa.
The capsule weighs 0.45 grams.
The capsule difference is very noticeable the genericV capsule is more flimsy and softer to squeeze than the Vascepa capsule which is much more firm. Which makes sense as the Vascepa capsule weighs 0.05 grams more.
Raf the freezer test after 4 days shows no difference. Also contents of both pills remained liquid. Smell test below was the same result.
Now for the smell test: (This is a big difference.)
Vascepa has almost no smell there is an ever so slight whiff but extremely minor. Taste and texture a light oil with a pleasant taste. No fish.
genericV really smells just like an off the shelf omega-3 fishy. I bought a bottle of "Spring Valley Omega-3 Fish Oil Softgels, 500 mg, 60 Count" to compare it to at Walmart. To me they both smell about the same level of fishy. If I rated it a 1 to 10 I would give it a 6. Taste and texture a light oil that really tastes like a strong fish. Takes a bit to get the taste out of your mouth.
One final note I was able to get my doc to change my script and got my Vascepa as desired.
I hope this helps.
Reply sent to Dr Bhatt let's see if he responds. Thank you for letting me know.
Raf I would love to hear another opinion on this as I agree it is not fair to me the consumer. I made the pharmacist say it three times and explicitly asked about this law in NY being the reason he could not dispense Vascepa. I plan on researching and asking my doctor about this law on Monday.
He admitted that Vascepa would be cheaper because of my coupon but that did not change his mind.
I forgot about the kickbacks I will ask my pharmacist that one for sure. I will be very interested in his reply.
I pay $9 for Vascepa and $10 for Hikma crap.
I will add a freezer test to the list.
This is my last post for today but I am always around this board.
Hey Raf the pharmacist told me is because the way my prescription was written by my doctor is the reason why NY state requires them to auto switch it to a generic once one becomes available.
My prescription was written as Icosapent Ethyl with Vascepa in quotes and not just Vascepa and DAW 0 which is "dispense as written but change to generic when available. I am sure NY state requires/teaches there doctors to do this so when a generic comes online it will automatically switch. I will be talking to my doctor of Monday to see if this is indeed how she wrote the prescription and why. However, to get what I want I have to have it changed to say Vascepa and DAW 1 which is dispense as written do not switch to generic.
I argued with the guy till I was blue in the face explaining the indication difference and that by switching me automatically Hikma was inducing infringement into Amarin's patents. He stated he did not know what I was taking if for and when the generic states it is an exact replacement that he has no other choice then to change me to the generic. Unless I have the prescription changed ot say Vascepa and DAW.
I haven't opened the bottle yet but will when I get confirmation I cannot return it to the pharmacy which I am pretty sure will be the case.
I will probably post my analysis sometime this coming week.
I got switched to gV. My experience seems to match what many others have posted. I live in Rochester NY and get my scripts filled by Walmart and have Excellus insurance through my wife's company.
Unfortunately I had my wife pick-up my last script and she did not know to check for the switch and brought me home a bottle of Hikma crap. First thing I noticed on the bottle is the label on the top "This is the same medication you have been getting color size or shape may appear different". The Exp. is only Sep 2022. The bottle states it contians 1 gram of Icosapent Ethyl. The label does not have much else on it other than stating "See package insert for complete prescribing information". I have not opened it yet.
(Making a long story short)
I called the Pharmacist and he confirmed that when a manufacture like Hikma labels there product as an exact replacement NY state law requires him to automatically switch me to the generic. Regardless of the indication I am taking it for which is not High Trigs. He admitted he did not know what I was taking it for but no matter his instructions are to replace the prescription with the generic. I asked him the price difference and he stated $20.91 I laughed and stated my coupon then makes Vascepa cheaper to the insurance company than the generic. He admitted he did not know what the insurance company would do about covering it if I switched back to Vascepa. He informed me the only way he can fill the prescription with Vascepa is to have my doctor change the script to say Vascepa instead of Icosapent Ethyl and put DAW(dispense as written). He sent a request to my doctor for the change and I will be calling my doctor on Monday.
I also got a letter in the mail from Excellus stating that Vascepa will be moved to Tier 3 on January 1, 2021 because of generic coming online that will be Tier 1. The letter does state that coverage for Vascepa will continue but a copay increase may start on Januuary 1, 2021. It also states to talk to your doctor if you would consider a lower cost alternative.
I probably cannot return the Hikma crap to the pharmacy but would be glad to send some pills to whomever would like to do there own check out of it. I have not opened the bottle yet but will soon once I verify I cannot return it to the pharmacy. I will be posting as I did before the weight of the capsule the the weight of the contents using my reloading scale good to 1/100 of a gram and of course the smell.
Hope this helps,
For CVD you are correct. However, since they are only claiming to lower very high Trigs which is a very low bar to get over do you think the FDA will care?
The capsule indeed weighs .5 grams and the contents weigh 1 gram. Checked it with three different pills and all were very close to these numbers.
I can absolutely verify with my gun powder scale good to 1/100 of a gram. That the capsule indeed weighs .5 grams and the contents weigh 1 gram. Checked it with three different pills and all were very close to these numbers.
Hope this helps.
I had noticed the same. Also I almost always remember the earnings call being scheduled for the beginning of the month that is one month past quarter close. So usually February, May, August, and November. Again no saying it means anything but this is not the norm.
They will not be filing an appeal for infringement. Doing so would backfire on them making the judge and the case look problematic and weaken there position.
Below is the excerpt from the call transcript about C19. So short term?
"People with cardiovascular risk factors appear to be at greater risk for COVID-19. We, together with leading physicians on multiple continents of the world, are reviewing whether there are opportunities for VASCEPA to be used in acute or chronic settings to potentially mitigate heightened cardiovascular risks associated with COVID-19. Whether or not such efforts will succeed are not yet known, nor do we yet know the extent of such potential investigation. However, we feel it is incumbent to try to help. Currently, such work is being evaluated based upon what is already known about VASCEPA, which is that it lowers cardiovascular risk in high-risk patients. If new data or other information presents itself regarding potential benefits of using VASCEPA in COVID-19 patients, we, and/or our medical collaborators, will make this known."
Evaporate? Does anyone know if they lifted the embargo and released the final results. Sorry if I missed this and it was already posted. Thank you in advance.
Wow a perfect example of the blind leading the blind. You go girl.
No we do not want to see your short comings. Head over to Stock Twits for that.
My best guess is they are trying to get the most bang for the buck.
1) I think the big thing they are waiting for is for most insurance companies to update there coverage mid year review. I know many of them update monthly or quarterly but I think AMRN is going for the most insurance coverage possible before DTC.
2) Also all Sales reps hired and trained and calling upon docs.
3) Plus it buys them time for BO or EU talks if they are in progress.
