On Saturday, December 15, 2012, at the Sosua Bay Grand Casino in Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic, two Universal Boxing Federation (UBF) championships will be at stake. Undefeated super featherweight Marlin "Maravilla" Cabrera (14-0, 7 KOs) of Santiago de los Caballeros, Dominican Republic, will take on the always dangerous Geyci Lorenzo (11-5, 2 KOs) of San Cristobal, Dominican Republic, for the inaugural UBF Inter-Continental Super Featherweight title.
And serving as the co-main event that night, hard-hitting Amanda "The Real Deal" Serrano (15-1-1, 10 KOs) of Brooklyn, New York, will be squaring off against Lina Milagros Tejada of the Dominican Republic for the inaugural UBF Inter-Continental female super featherweight title.
"The UBF is very proud to be part of such an exciting event and we are proud to sanction the main event and co-main events. Boxing in the Dominican Republic is on an upswing with the recent world championship victory of Javier Fortuna and this show will feature several other rising stars from this great country," said UBF Vice President Richard Spilotro.
About the Universal Boxing Federation (UBF)
The Universal Boxing Federation was established in 2012 with the intention of creating a worldwide sanctioning body, whose main goal was to operate with integrity and fairness. The UBF is based in Chicago, Illinois, with representatives across the United States. The President of the UBF is Michael Campbell. The Ratings Chairman is Ben Allen Mercado (BAM).
me too
I had big hopes and beleived the hype.
But from visiting the area and speaking with many local business owners, the opinion of Swank is horrible down here.
Lets hope that something goes right and we can at least make the money back, hopefully one day a profit
They cant provide a confrence call, when they ae only visiting the DR to gt drunk n run the streets!!
I have called and tried to meet him several times since I travel to the DR and also live here part of the year. No response
Seems when u get to close and see to much the smoke gets darker and they hide behind it.
EXACTLY
Smoke n mirrors!
CASINO is not closed..
The disco, hotel, etc are all closed and have been. Casino slow from all people I have spoken to and seen last night.
My question is why would someone buy a casino, that the property is leased and is at the dead end of the street, where the only business open is the casino. The large sosua hotel beside it is closed and the disco next door. So how much would someone pay for leased rights? Some tables, cards, etc...
Hey bro I hope that this goes through nd somehow our stock goes up. I have been in the DR numerous times of the past several years. I went by the Sosua bay casino yesterday, it was dead, the disco has been closed for several moths and the hotel has also been closed since before the summer.
The resort, I do not know. I hope tht this will be a true story but I do not see any true moves in that direction.
Ok so the casino is gonna be sold?
The after five disco, with the greg sports drink deal, is closed.....
So with a slow casino and no disco income coming in how is this next great deal really looking??
Hard to see through all the smoke and mirrors
Yes CGAQ is a good play and will make us all some money, the key is patience!!
Well yes I am in the DR. I was in Sosua at night and back n forth to Santiago and San Fransisco de Macoris during the day.
I never found the slot parlor. I was told it was near the hospital in Puerto plata, but never saw it. Could be there who knows, I stopped wasting time during my days looking for it since it is not the most important thing to my investment in CGAQ.
Although I must say the casino is functioning well, and the after one disco is the #1 late night bar in the area. Packed after the others close and plenty of people inside along with great security.
The casino is nice and the majority of the workers there are really nice. Although the manager who runs the place is in my opinion "Pathetic" he should be working in the Hotel across the street parking cars, because those guys there are also very disrespectful to Americans visiting.
I spoke with him requesting information. He would not give me any info that I was seeking like the LOCATION of the slot parlor. I did call Steven when I was on the way to the DR and when I was there all calls went to voice mail. I told the manager why I was there and played black jack three nights there with some friends. The extremely disappointing thing that I learned today is that when I was there last night, so was Steven.
Since we do not know each other I wouldn't expect him to walk up and talk to people playing, BUT I WOULD EXPECT A GOOD MANAGER TO LET HIM KNOW THAT I WAS THERE.
A retired local from the US told me he was there last night at the bar when we were playing blackjack. Of course he would have introduced me if he knew I wanted to meet him etc.......
SO go CGAQ!!!! the casino is doing well, the bar is great, lets get some info on the slot parlor, and it looks like the boxing/race track is going forward.
If anyone happens to go down I would recommend staying anywhere but Sosua Bay Hotel!!!!
Ok where is the slot parlor in Puerto Plata???
Not sure cant find it I'm down here in the DR and have looked for it for two days. Was told that they are now illegal in Puerto Plata.
So maybe that is why we dont see any updates or info on this "new business"
WHAT AUDIO TAPE?
GET A GRIP PEOPLE!!!! guyinmiami
Here is the article in English....
Santo Domingo.- The crisis which the V Centenario race track is going through is so extended that jockeys, trainers, groomers and even the horse owners talk of halting the events, the string of bad luck, and a temporary closing, news source listin.com.do reports
Failure to pay the horse owners as much as RD$5.0 million for at least the 16 last racing cards, the track’s tattered conditions, only 360 horses competing, as well as a lack of compliance of the measure to hold races during Easter week are among the irregularities that push the V Centenario toward its worse moment since built 16 years ago, the report said.
The news source reports that the track’s situation led to the ouster of Odalix Pimentel from the National Equestrian Commission’s presidency, replaced by Bienvenido Rodriguez, via presidential Decree 279-11, issued May 5. The members of the jury were also removed, replaced by Pedro Julio Simonó, Hunter Castro and Alonso Calcaño.
The developments come just days in the wake of its first ever tragic accident, claiming the life of the jockey Miguel Sanchez in a race on May 2.
But the Centenario’s string of bad luck seems to have no end, as the jockeys Michael Inirio and William Luis sustained minor injuries when falling off their mounts in Monday’s fourth race.
............
THe track yes is in a run down area right off the interstate coming from Santo Domingo. The area is not a bustling center for local retail etc..... And Neither are many Pro football stadiums in the US but hey they make a few bucks....
Also so you guys are informed research the last director, boss, whatever of the track... YOu will find that he is a family member of the President and the only reason he got the job, they just didn't expect him to destroy the business....
Well as far as Donald trump etc... being interested in the area or making trips from PUNTA CANA area to a race track come... Thats an idiotic idea. THe money made from this place once again is from betting, OTB, whatever place a gambler can bet, KIOSKS???
So anyway I am not stating bad or good on the future just trying to give some insight into how things are in the DR. AND YES THINGS THERE TAKE FOREVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
GO ELRA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I can never remember seeing a slot parlor on every corner. Actually dont remember seeing any solo set ups either. I have only seen them in casinos but hey I have never sought any out
Hey Chade 014 PSD etc... I am a new penny stock investor and think your insight is great on charts, etc... Could you refer me to some literature to better understand the charts and terminiology?? Thanks DJ
I also live in the DR half the year so let me know if I can help on any specific questions you have to the area.
GREAT to see chade014 back
Chadde what do you mean by keeping inred?
AS far as the slot parlor, can anyone locate any other publication besides CGAQ that the parlor is open?
levitateme!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hey bud as I have always said my opinions are of what I see. Yes the track was closed Sunday morning as I was stopping by as I flew back home, as for all your negative posts about the time frame letters, etc... Just shows your lack of dd or maybe you are just choosing to be a slammer and buy on the low, either way good luck to ya..
As far as anyone else on the board that might have any questions just ask. As I stated long time ago I also live in the DR about three months out of the year. So taking a trip down and driving around the island is actually fun for me to do, just love to have reasons to go.
spoke with a worker and security guys, they were closed on the Sunday I went and neither knew of what was going to happen with management but did know that it is currently in the process of being changed from the old regime.
OK guys here is my info from my trip to the DR. Went to sosua casino. I would say the casino was busy in comparison to the tourists in the area. The amount of tourists was down according to the locals but the casino was open both nights and was at half capacity. The club was recommended by several locals and it was busy. I also went to see the race track in Santo Domingo, where races are still going and people are still coming, the guys there said the place was still fairly busy after the incidents. The area is large and just off the interstate from Santo Domingo. There are several apartment/condos that are for sale and lease in the area. The parking lot of the racetrack had several broken down buses in the back not sure about why they were there and the guys there just said that the buses have been there a while. As far as the online roulette, the camera and tv is set up but as we know is not live. I did not go to see the slot parlor at all.
NOt sure if this helps but if anyone has any specific questions just ask not sure as to what others are looking for as far as information.
As far as feeling, I still have a good feeling about the company.

Last minute trip. I am down eat least every other month, not in sosua but in San Fransisco de Macoris. I will definitely meet up with you next time.
Will Do
Ok guys well I am down here in osua. I went to the track on Saturday and spoke to some people their and they acknowledge that the track is being sought out and that it would be good for both the company that aquires it and the DR gov.. Do some looking into how the DR is leasing the electricity in the country to Venezuala.
As far as the casino it was a nice spot. i won some cash on black jack lat night and bought some more shares today. The staff is great, the night club is a big hit here in town and seems to be running well. The down part of any of this is the decrease in tourists in the area. I still feel good about my investment and I am certainly glad I made the trip myself to check out the track and casino for myself.
Ok fellas. I am leaving for DR tomorrow. I am gonna fly into SAnto Domingo. I plan on checking out both the track and the casino. I will let you know what I find.
OK now there fellows. I am an investor in the comp. I also live here and in the DR. My wife and I have a home in San Fransisco de Macoris. I am thinking of leaving tomorrow morning to stay in the dr and check out the gorse track and casino in Sosua. Well anyway the translations that you guys are posting in the board are not quite accurate. The letter is positive towards cgaq obtaining the race track and running its daily business on lease terms. The process is the same as when the dr sold the electrical company to Hugo Chavez. They are transferring the lease so that the business can be better run. The letter is positive towards that respect. jmo
