iBIZ Technology Corp. Completes Second Quarter With a Backlog in Customer Orders
Wednesday April 30, 6:31 pm ET
PHOENIX, April 30 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- iBIZ Technology Corp. (OTC Bulletin Board: IBZT - News) completed its second fiscal quarter with a backlog of customer orders.
Commenting on the iBIZ's second quarter business, Ken Schilling, iBIZ President and Chief Executive Officer stated, "Repositioning our unique line of PDA value added accessories can be a slow an arduous process, however, we are extremely pleased to close this quarter with a backlog of customer orders including orders from industry leaders Dell and Palm through their distribution channels. At the beginning of our new fiscal year, which started on November 1, 2002, iBIZ began a restructuring program with our PDA product lineup in an effort to deliver, usable additional value to PDA ownership. Today, and as a direct result of our restructuring program we have a product roadmap that is second to none as we began shipping several of our newest products in February of this year. As a result of orders received late in Q2 revenue results for the second quarter will remain soft, however, they will be reflected as shipments are booked in this current quarter (Q3)."
"Beginning in May we'll start delivery to Synnex Information Technologies Inc. with our pocket RADIO CF Card (http://www.ibizcorp.com/pocketradio.html) designed specifically for the Dell Axim, and accordingly will be available through Dell's online store once the inventory is in stock at Synnex. Our participation as a Palm partner during the spring Retail Vision event in Chicago at the end of March, left us with a substantial level of renewed interest in our products from both national and regional retailers. In June, our SDIO pocket RADIO will be available through the Palm Store and our new Xela Case Keyboard (http://www.ibizpda.com/xela.html) will be featured on ad at many of the major retail chains nationwide. During the course of Q1 and Q2 we continued to direct the company to discard all non-profitable entities. Moreover, as a result of our guidance, we substantially paired down overhead costs and directed more of our costs to outsourcing with partners who will be paid through performance. Concurrent with managing costs, we have partnered with a nationally recognized Rep. Management team who enjoys a much broader presence in the retail channel and is beginning to deliver measurable results."
Schilling further commented, "In general, PDA sector sales have been sluggish since it's surge three years ago, however, the existing PDA manufacturing leaders and new players in this sector are once again beginning to stimulate market growth with better price performance, power and unique designs. To that end, iBIZ will continue to direct our efforts toward building a value added line of PDA accessories that will increase in market awareness and product penetration in all channels. Today, iBIZ Technology is a very different company than it was just a few short months ago. By cutting overhead expenses by more than 75 percent and redirecting our efforts to product innovation and development, we believe we are on our way to a profitable future."

Subdermal VeriChip and New Temperature-Sensing Microchip Technology Successfully Demonstrated at London Healthcare Conference - April 28-29, 2003
Wednesday April 30, 8:35 am ET
Potential Healthcare Applications of These Implantable Microchip Technologies Discussed at IDTechEx "Smart Tagging in Healthcare" Conference
PALM BEACH, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 30, 2003-- Applied Digital Solutions, Inc. (Nasdaq:ADSX - News) an advanced technology development company, announced today that it successfully demonstrated its subdermal VeriChip personal verification microchip, as well as a new, implantable, temperature-sensing microchip technology at the IDTechEx "Smart Tagging in Healthcare" conference held in London, April 28-29, 2003.
Dr. Richard Seelig, Vice President of Medical Applications for VeriChip Corporation, provided the international audience with a live demonstration of VeriChip and discussed its many potential healthcare applications - which are subject to regulation by the US Food and Drug Administration.
Dr. Seelig also provided the first-ever public demonstration of a new temperature-sensing microchip technology, marketed, patented and first announced by Digital Angel Corporation (AMEX: DOC - News) in February 2003. This new Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) microchip has similar dimensions and performance characteristics as VeriChip, but it can also obtain and transmit body temperature data. In the live demonstration, a volunteer placed the microchip just behind her ear then passed the handheld scanner over the chip to instantly obtain her temperature reading. Human healthcare applications of this technology are subject to appropriate regulations in the US and other jurisdictions.
The two-day IDTechEx conference was attended by representatives of private sector and government organizations. In its marketing materials, IDTechEx refers to the London conference as the "first major" conference devoted to the potential healthcare benefits of smart tagging technologies. As described by IDTechEx, the conference was intended to help attendees "learn how smart labels can save lives, reduce errors, improve health, reduce costs and lead to new services."

About VeriChip(TM)
VeriChip is a miniaturized radio frequency identification device (RFID) that can be used in a variety of security, financial, emergency identification and other applications. About the size of a grain of rice, each VeriChip product contains a unique verification number and will be available in several formats, some of which will be insertable under the skin. The verification number is captured by briefly passing a proprietary scanner over the VeriChip. A small amount of radio frequency energy passes from the scanner energizing the dormant VeriChip, which then emits a radio frequency signal transmitting the verification number. In October 2002, the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) ruled that VeriChip was not a regulated device with regard to its security, financial, personal identification/safety applications but that VeriChip's healthcare information applications are regulated by the FDA. VeriChip Corporation is a wholly owned subsidiary of Applied Digital Solutions.

IMCC - Fitch Ratings places Fairbanks Capital Corp's (Fairbanks) residential primary servicer ratings of 'RPS1'for subprime,'RPS1-'for Alt-A and Home Equity (closed-end seconds and HELOCs) and the 'RSS1'residential special servicer rating on Rating Watch Negative, pending Fitch's determination of the impact of certain of their reporting and remittance practices.
Fairbanks changed its servicing procedures with regard to certain transactions, including IMC Mortgage Company and ContiMortgage Corp. issuances, to allow for the charging of interest on advances paid by Fairbanks. Industry participants have questioned whether this practice is considered reasonable and customary for the industry.
To better determine its opinion regarding the above and as a continuation of its efforts to monitor and assess Fairbanks'servicing performance in light of recent events Fitch's Operational Risk Group has scheduled a targeted on-site review. The servicer review phase is scheduled to be completed within the next 30 days and will include visits to Fairbanks'four servicing facilities which are located in Utah, Texas, Florida and Pennsylvania.
The servicer reviews will also focus on the numerous allegations and lawsuits filed against Fairbanks by consumers citing predatory and deceptive business practices, as well as the HUD and FTC Reviews. In addition, the reviews will address Fairbanks practices with regard to the charging of fees, timely posting of payments, timely resolution of customer service complaints, and collection and foreclosure procedures, some of which have been recently changed as a result of the company's efforts to proactively confront these allegations.
If at any time Fitch determines that Fairbanks has not fully met the requirements of a servicer at their current level Fitch will take immediate and definitive action with regard to their servicer ratings.
For more information on Fitch's residential mortgage servicer rating program, please see Fitch's report, 'Residential Mortgage Servicer Ratings', dated Feb. 21, 2003 and available on the Fitch Ratings web site at 'www.fitchratings.com'.
