Good post. I was thinking the same thing when I heard about this on NPR. When I saw my CKYS was up 22% I immediately checked the news and saw no PR's. I had forgot all about this morning and the slight grin I wore as I thought, "she should have had a biometric thumb-drive..." hehhehe

Now, she may still have gotten in trouble... I mean, data is data and I would imagine there are ways to get around the finger print device unless tampering wlll cause erasure. I'm not familiar with the full scope of that security feature.

It makes sense that other folks heard that news and saw some potential here. Quite likely CKYS has some new longs after today.

I'm pretty sure shorting stocks is legal on just about any exchange. It's selling shares of stock that don't exist and then failing to pay on margin calls that is illegal.

Selling of phantom shares gives the illusion of unlimited shares which drives the price down due to the perception of high supply and inadequate demand. This is basically counterfeiting a valuable commodity and from my understanding it's very illegal.

At least, that's my understanding :)

All you are doing when you are shorting a stock is borrowing money or using money in your "margin" account to purchase a stock and sell it based on your perception that the stock price will go down. When the stock price goes form 100 to 90 dollars you pay the 90 dollars you borrowed to buy the stock and pocket 10 dollars. If the price goes up to like.. 110 dollars than you have to pay back the 90 dollars you borrowed (or payed out of your margin account) as well as the 20 dollars from the PPS increase. So instead of gaining 10 you lost 110 if the price goes up (from 90 to 110) and there is a margin call.

Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong, anyone. That is my understanding after about 1.5 years of leisurely looking into it from time to time and I think this is layman's terms the average Joe could understand.

I was just saying that a stronger argument could be made for CKYS doing better in a market that's spending less money on body armor and more money on security devices to protect the homeland.

Yes, I agree that those are "nervous nelly" thoughts. I think it would be easier to make an argument of opposite persuation:

If anything, Democrats in control will mean less money spent on WAR and more money spent on things that are "nice to have". Such as a myriad of USB devices... secure to boot.

I'm not saying that USB devices are just "nice to have". To the contrary, secure features offered by CKYS are highly sought after in military spheres. And, in my opinion, the military might have more money on these devices instead having to pay for all thins that go into winning a war.

The CIK was registered back in 2003. CKYS only changed it's name in April, 2006. Not really "too" long ago, relatively speaking. I'm not sure if they have to re-register to file. I don't even know if it's a big hassle to register. /shrug.

Today's PR gives credibility to SLJB because it puts more of a constraint on flippers. One thing that I and a lot of others have not liked over the past month is the obvious appearance that the CEO was manipulating information via the blog and PR's which caused predictable price fluctuations allowing share taking via pump tactics and scare tactics.

Granted, today's PR could end up being yet another pump and dump tactic if AF's aren't released by the date announced today. It is probably a safe bet to assume that the PPS will gradually, if not quickly, ascend in the days leading up to the 15th as those that sold attempt to get back in. However I see a lot of sideliners on this play. They will be the ones sending nasty-grams to the SEC about price manipulation and the SEC might reply with something like, "Uhh, did you do your DD?"

So, yeah... I'm happy with this PR. It spoke directly to the smart investors' unhappy perception of recently transpired events.

In this case, I totally agree.

It would be fitting that it take several weeks and just as the share price dips to a painfully low level the AF's are released, are GOOD and yet another reverse merger PR is released. This time, however, the reverse merger is validated and trustworthy. Everybody knows it and the PPS soars.
