pop, with all do respect we won't see any sign of revenue until NEOM is required to report it every quarter. That's just how they operate, for people here to expect Neom will drop a PR announcing revenue is absolutley crazy.
It's also crazy to expect NEOM to PR it's campaigns, they have made it clear they are in the technology provider business which equates to licensing...that's where the revenue will be coming from. Everything they have PR'd is focused on them licensing to other organizations. If that's what people here want to see, then they should check in every 3 months instead of every hour.
As for noting direct vs. indirect on the 'market' post I agree it would clarify for an investors benefit, but in reality, our investment is worthless unless the public knows what the general product is. They could care less about the infrastructure. Only Neom management, YA and us care about direct vs. indirect. The public just wants to know what it is, what it does and what VALUE it brings to them.
As a shareholder, I for one am very interested in what our competition is churning out as it can be a threat or opportunity to Neom, but, at the same time they are stepping up and educating consumers while increasing public awareness...again, our investments are seriously worth nothing if the public is uneducated about it.
So, until NEOM churnes out some PR's and reports the revenue we all want to see, I for one will keep posting market-wide information as I believe revenue will only be followed by awareness of the product we're selling.
good reference road, but some here can't open their minds as to how revenue is actaully earned. They just want Kenneth Lay to come in and make revenue happen on the spot.
We got a bunch of debbie-downers today. Of course NEOM isn't going to earn revenue soon because the market in the U.S. is still WAY WAY WAY young. Exposure to what the technology IS is going to be the only way NEOM will eventually earn revenue.
Without an end user knowing what to do (aka everyone that has no idea what a QR code is), then there is no motiviation for companies to begin campaigns to target them. Without campaigns then there is no revenue.
Therefore, it is exteremely relevant to post anything and everything about QR codes as all the initiatives so far by other companies (direct or indirect) and our competition are exposing the unaware public as to what these fancy things do. Once there is mass exposure, then I think everyone (with the exception of a few sour patch kids) on this board all agree indirect is the best option for companies with deep pockets.
Marketing Principle 101 = if the end-user doesn't understand the product, then nobody is going anywhere.

Trying To Get The Mobile Signal At Retail
by Steve Smith, 3 hours ago

...Best Buy is engaged in a major mobile push. The app has a QR code reader that works with the icons that now sit on the shelf next to most items I saw in the store this weekend. Large standups throughout the store explain what the funny-looking badges are on most items.
The coolest functionality of the iPhone app is its product comparison tools. You snap multiple products in a category and the app arranges their specs in parallel so you can scroll through point-by-point comparisons. And Best Buy has been building its database of online reviews, so you get rich user-gen content....
seriously, what are the thoughts on why we are having the volume we've been having over the last week or two?
when was the last time we had volume like this?
agreed, but who's the ^*#(*&%^ that's letting this drop 17%!
edit: of course as soon as I post that, it shoots back up
Were there always this many resellers listed on their website?

Gotcha, makes sense. Something was missing and that clears it up.
that's what I was expecting, anything related to that note should have been a material event...at least that's my opinion
how about everyone stop talking at once...
slow day in neom land
anyone got any thoughts why an 8-k wasn't filed yesterday? Yesterday was 4 days after the 90 day time frame for the transaction....I would think anything related to that note would be a material event.
I guess a filing can go either way.
-Why need 500k a week before the expiration of a claim that can pay down debt and SUSTAIN 12months of operation?
-On the flip side, why make that claim in the first place? What's in the pipeline to support such a claim?
-Why the volume increases since Aug 27? Does someone know something or is someone just willing to gamble again?
I hope for the very best outcome, but I've been burnt 7 to many times to get my hopes up. To me, this 'transaction' is judgement day.
If I had to pick one, I'd say 3. Hence, why we got another 500k from them.
On a side note, tomorrow marks exactly 1 year since we've had a conference call.
Haven't retail shareholders always been on a need-to-know basis...which is usually never.
Vyoo.it makes listings info mobile
Postlets tool offers QR codes, shortened URLs
By Inman News, Monday, August 30, 2010.
http://www.inman.com/news/2010/08/30/vyooit-makes-listings-info-mobile
Online marketing platform Postlets has announced a new mobile tool to streamline how consumers view listings on mobile devices.
Vyoo.it optimizes property listings for mobile devices by sizing them for small screens. Each mobile "vyoo" of a property features four tabs: 1. "Home," which includes property features and a description, including a photo and contact information for the listing agent; 2. "Photos," which calls up additional images; 3. "Map," which pulls up the address for the listing either on an embedded Google map or, for iPhone users, on the native Google Maps app; and 4. "Local," which includes information on local amenities provided by Walk Score and on local schools provided by Education.com.
To see vyoo.it at work, compare this original listing on the Postlets site and its mobile version at vyoo.it/fw2rr. In order to see the mobile version properly, the URL must be accessed through a smart phone. Vyoo.it is currently optimized for iPhones and Android-based devices; the company plans to create optimized versions for BlackBerry, Nokia and other smart phones in the future.
A few differences between the original listing and the vyoo: because the vyoo has four tabs by default, the original listing's "Features," "Website," and "Virtual Tour" tabs are not included. The map of schools under the original "Schools" tab is also not included. Instead, school addresses are listed.
Any real estate listing can be turned into a vyoo, including listings from a brokerage website or a single-property website, the company said. The free tool also provides real estate agents with shortened URLs that are easy to remember, such as vyoo.it/123market, and is working on providing customizable URLs.
Vyoo.it will also provide a Quick Response ("QR") code for each listing, the company said. QR codes are two-dimensional bar codes similar to those found on retail merchandise. The coded images can be downloaded in PNG format and attached to print marketing materials so that consumers can scan them with their smart phones and immediately be taken to an online "vyoo" of the listing (view a sample).
The company also plans to offer printed goods in the future, such as sign riders, decals and fliers, that include a URL and QR code.
Agents can sign up for vyoo.it through Facebook, according to the company.
wow, thanks for the attempt...far more effort than I expected. thanks Road
welcome back, the lawsuit updates are in the sticky notes...not much going on with that.
For neom updates, the company revised their website so check out the PR and news sections.
Q2 showed a decent increase in licensing rev, but still subpar. There is also a 'transaction(s)' which according to IM will pay down debt and sustain 12 months of operation. The timeframe he laid out for the transaction expired last week, and of course we're still in the dark....so who knows what's going on with that.
The R/S pretty much screwed us all over, except YA of course, and we're mostly hoping something happens as always. The market in general seems to be moving forward.
I saw that, what reader are they suggesting?

my guess people are thinking this infamous 'transaction' will be reported early next week.
decent volume so far
I saw the Fox Code numerous times last night following ads for different shows. The only beef I have with it is that it flashed for less than a second. So my question is how can someone scan it that quickly and there were no instructions on what to do for the people having never seen a QR code before.
The only logical thing I can think of is that it's a teaser campaign, sort of like the way Droid started, to entice interest and then..whammy...they start popping up everywhere.
Thoughts or additional info from anyone?
with the economy facing a double dip recession there will not be any money to spend on any impressive campaigns by any blue chips or ad/marketing companies.
Read the below article, it sums up the importance of not reducing marketing efforts in a time of recession. However, I would stongly recommend looking at scholoarly publications with far more credible data and research as opposed to this. You may be able to access EBSCOHOst Web or ProQuest databases through your local library which will yield credible supportive data to counter your argument.
http://www.brandingstrategyinsider.com/2009/04/recession-marketing-success-requires-boldness.html
The only companies that will be hurt by a double dip recession are the ones that don't have nationally or globably marketable products.
just curious, how long did it stay on the screen? And did it talk about what needed to be done to see what the code has?
I haven't seen one yet.
Road, I love your enthusiasm, but can you pinpoint exact webpages where the Neustar and Google logos mingle with each other indicating such relationships exist? TIA.
Neom doesn't move forward until the end-consumer is aware of what a QR code is. Neom can't do that alone, so anything QR code related is relevant to Neom as it increases market exposure, IMO.
Plus, if posting was only Neom related then this board would have been deleted due to inactivity. lol.

Santa Barbara Zoo launches smartphone technology
By AMY BENNER -- AUG. 26, 2010
http://www.thedailysound.com/News/082610SANTABARBARAZOO-NEWTECHNOLOGY
The Santa Barbara Zoo just got a little wilder.
Zoo guests with Smartphones can watch YouTube videos of the animals as they tour the exhibits.
“Most of our guests can’t read,” joked the zoo’s director of public relations, Julia McHugh, pointing to the several small children playing near the entrance waterfall. “(The) technology really engages the kids, because the signs aren’t necessarily available to them.”
The zoo, using new Quick Response (QR) Code technology, has attached signs bearing black-and-white speckled squares called matrixes to various exhibits.
Phones equipped with a QR application are able to scan these matrixes, which provide a link through YouTube or an Internet browser to animal videos posted online by Zoo staff.
Guest Services director David Velazquez added “you also get stuff you can’t see by just standing there — behind-the-scenes stuff.”
The Asian Elephant exhibit, for example, features a video of the elephants Sujatha and Little Mac at feeding time, as well as keeper commentary.
“Most of the videos we produced ourselves,” McHugh said. “QR is so inexpensive, and so flexible. We looked at other applications that cost thousands, but with this, we only had to pay for the signs.”
The zoo has installed 10 signs so far.
The first matrix by the entrance offers a video in which Santa Barbara resident and comedian John Cleese delivers a welcome speech with appropriate hilarity, and the remaining 9 show animal footage with fun music added.
“It’s a cool way to connect to the guests,” Velazquez said. “And a cool way for our guests to connect to the animals. It’ll take time to catch on, but I think people will really start using it.”
The Santa Barbara Zoo is the first zoo in North America to use QR Code technology, which was developed in Japan about five years ago.
“I’ve only seen two or three [videos],” said Zoo guest Christine Solivas. “I didn’t know what to expect, but it’s kind of cool. I liked the ‘Gator Training’ one.”
Her friend Mike Ward agreed, particularly about accessing behind-the-scenes glimpses.
In the video, the alligator plays in the jets in her pond. Usually she doesn’t move much, but turning on the jets “makes her go crazy,” said McHugh.
“You wouldn’t get to see an alligator do that,” said Ward.
Ward did, however, express concern that the videos might distract people from the real-life animals.
“Look, that bird flew across the cage, but they missed it because they were watching the video,” said Ward, pointing to the condor exhibit. “I mean, you don’t want a world where people are just looking at their phones.”
Velazquez expressed hope that more matrixes and videos will be installed.
“I don’t see why we wouldn’t,” he said. “The videos are another tool — we can’t have keepers or volunteers around to answer questions all the time, but this way you get the keepers’ perspectives. You get a whole different experience.”
The statement was so intentionally foggy that it could mean numerous things.
The opptimisitc part of me thinks the transaction was the completition of the Buengerno deal. It could potentially generate enough revenue to sustain 12 months of operation and to paydown debts...it was completed within the 90 days as stated...and the recent funding from YA would suplement the needed cashflow while NEOM waits for the licensing revs to come in from this deal.
The pessimistic part of me thinks we were played for fools (again) and no such transaction was ever foreseeable, thus why the statement was so foggy (never stated it was for sure securing a deal, only pursuing).
Either way, I personally don't see anything materializing from this statement. Thoughts from anyone?

Holiday Shoppers Team Up to Access Mobile Group Rewards
http://www.prnewswire.com/news-releases/holiday-shoppers-team-up-to-access-mobile-group-rewards-101364574.html
As I go through the post chains I'm picking up on that more and more...seems like business as usual.
Still trying to catch up on 2 weeks worth of missed posts...so is this Buongiorno deal the 'transaction' we've been waiting for?
I see licensing revs have increased substantially (compared to NEOM's history of course, not the reguluar business world) in Q2...so will these licensing revs from this recent deal be the transaction that supports operations for 12 months? The recent infusion from YA seems like a temporary boost to me...
Any clarification, insight or thoughts would be appreciated.
Thanks for the patience as I try to bring myself back up to speed.
Been out of the country for 2 weeks on vaca; I see we signed another deal and Ian has come out of the shadows with 2 interviews, but pps remains. Anything else happen?
