As I thought, temperature is a function of lift. See below from link:
http://www.pilotfriend.com/training/flight_training/aft_perf.htm
"The figures published in the Flight Manual for the performance capabilities of a certain model of airplane are always related to standard atmosphere (29.92 inches of mercury at 15° C at sea level). However, only rarely will the airplane actually operate under conditions that approximate standard atmosphere. Any increase in temperature or altitude means a decrease in the aircraft's optimum performance.
Air density decreases with altitude. At high elevation airports, an airplane requires more runway to take off. Its rate of climb will be less, its approach will be faster, because the true air speed [TAS] will be faster than the indicated air speed [IAS] and the landing roll will be longer.
Air density also decreases with temperature. Warm air is less dense than cold air because there are fewer air molecules in a given volume of warm air than in the same volume of cooler air. As a result, on a hot day, an airplane will require more runway to take off, will have a poor rate of climb and a faster approach and will experience a longer landing roll.
In combination, high and hot, a situation exists that can well be disastrous for an unsuspecting, or more accurately, an uninformed pilot. The combination of high temperature and high elevation produces a situation that aerodynamically reduces drastically the performance of the airplane. The horsepower out-put of the engines decrease because its fuel-air mixture is reduced. The propeller develops less thrust because the blades, as airfoils, are less efficient in the thin air. The wings develop less lift because the thin air exerts less force on the airfoils. As a result, the take-off distance is substantially increased, climb performance is substantially reduced and may, in extreme situations, be non-existent.
Humidity also plays a part in this scenario. Although it is not a major factor in computing density altitude, high humidity has an effect on engine power. The high level of water vapor in the air reduces the amount of air available for combustion and results in an enriched mixture and reduced power
Mountain airports are particularly treacherous when temperatures are high, especially for a low performance airplane. The actual elevation of the airport may be near the operational ceiling of the airplane without the disadvantage of density altitude. Under some conditions, the airplane may not be able to lift out of ground effect or to maintain a rate of climb necessary to clear obstacles or surrounding terrain."
I understand that cold temperatures provide better lift for fixed wing aircraft.
What's the effect on this type?
"Only reason I can make sense of this is that GTC was all over the testing in Germany, was VERY happy with the results, and made the plunge to enable the next step with L-3 in the USA."
Bingo, mide.
There had to be a reason to buy at a premium and it looks like the recent PR bears that out.
I understand your point.
Isn't it possible to obtain the services of a MM to buy this amount in an orderly fashion without substantially effecting the asking price?
Thanks for the reply
I understood the part about the company not getting the 800K alright but the financial logic escapes me. I assume the "lender" intends to make some money eventually and, since most investors act in their own interests, why pay a premium?
There's something else afoot.....there has to be.
It's a puzzlement,
That would be a strange way to do the deal. If the price was lower than it is, currently, it would mean GTC would have paid a significant premium. Why would they do that if they could have purchased it cheaper on the open market?
If what you think is true, there must be something else (we're unaware of) included to sweeten the pot.
I haven't followed this drama very closely. I might be oversimplifying things. If so, I'd appreciate a heads up.
"GTC has arranged the funding through the purchase of Sanswire Common stock priced at $0.105 per share."
This arrangement must have been executed some time ago. If GTC bought the shares at $0.105/share, the market price must have been higher. Deals such as this generally require a discounted share price.
As a matter of disclosure, I was fooled just like everyone else.....well..not everyone.
You betcha!
Don't fret it. Even if the shareholders won, after the attorneys take their cut, that's about what you'd get....a dime.
Just one of many examples.
It sure wasn't nice to watch while it was happening but, you'll have to admit it, as it turned out, he was right about Globetel. What happened to the old guard was inevitable with or without his help.
Thanks. Now I have to find a hole to crawl into. :>)
Thanks. The steamer had already designated "snsre" but I tried your suggestion and the numbers appeared ....and the volume is greater than it was before. Looks like it's trading.
Thanks again.
Thanks! Do you say it shows that on your streamer? It doesn't show that on mine. In the "get quote " area, the numbers indicate a B of .14 and an A of .145 with a volume of 92,504 but that was there since early morning...hasn't changed. I don't know for sure but I suspect those are yesterday's closing numbers.
Is the stock trading? TD Ameritrade shows no activity today.
One simple question. Where does the buck stop?
Stupid...Stupid...Stupid. Can't get the simplest of reports in on time.
That's a great picture. It looks like the "diamond ring" formed by an eclipse. Let's call it the SNSR diamond....or, better yet, the "Hope" diamond :>)
Thanks, but I was thinking about something more on the order of this.

Will someone answer this question?
Wouldn't a slow moving or stationary ship at 15,000 feet be relatively easy to bring down with even the most elementary weapon?
Thanks for the reference.
Although the forfeiture order is for 171B, that doesn't mean Madoff has that much in personal assets. The amount is most likely overblown by the prosecutors. It's a "just in case" figure in the event the forensics show the amount of loss of 50 or 60 billion thrown out there by the press is way understated. There's also no evidence that he has that much in assets, although you gotta figure he must have squirreled away a ton of money through all those years.
171 billion? Is this a typo?
I guess it's not ok for the employer to steal from the worker but it is ok for the government to do it. :>):>)
I know what you're talking about. I was Bureau Chief of a state agency for the collection of delinquent unemployment and disability tax payments withheld from employees. These are regarded as fiduciary funds held in trust. That's why it's such a big deal.
That's unfortunate. I'd rather have seen this type of vendor work for stock rather than cash. They'd be more motivated to help increase SP than taking a fixed amount.
"For the quarter ended March 31, 2009, the Company reported a net loss of ($653,353), or ($0.00) per share, with no revenue, compared to a net loss of ($2,373,241), or ($0.02) per share, with no revenue for the quarter ended March 31, 2008"
Now that's what I call an improvement. At that rate, we'll be talking about real money in no time.
:>):>)
"......yet they are both sources of unity in their concern for veterans,...."
John Kerry? You gotta be kidding.! Are you talking about the same guy who disparaged his war comrades to futher his political career? The guy's pond scum.
Mide
He's already been sentenced. If he has done any "singing", it will have occured before sentencing.
"Without admitting or denying the charges against him, Huff consented to final judgment permanently enjoining him from future violations of Sections 5(a) and 5(c) of the Securities Act and ordering him to pay a $30,000 civil penalty."
What the heck does the bold portion mean? I assume that everyone must not violate Sections 5(a) and 5(c) of the Securities Act. Why is it necessary to enjoin someone from doing so? Admittedly, I haven't read the section of law quoted but the injunction seems redundant.....unless the penalties are more severe following an injunction.
I'd appreciate an explanation.
Vern
you seem to waffle here and about regarding this company's chance of success. At one point you seem optimistic and then suddenly shift to the dark side. Are we talking mood swings?
Yeah, sure.
The Nigerians invented the scam. Best to stay away. They make the Russians look like alter boys.
What?
Is that all you have to do maintain credibility.......end with JMHO? Even opinions (if they're worth anything) should be bolstered by some facts, otherwise they're nothing but guesses. Biiiiig difference!
Insofar as Danielle having access to privileged info, who knows? If that's the case, it should be held closely.....period. To be fair, I don't ever remember her/him stating that. There are others who speculate she/he has. Doubtless, a bit of wishful thinking. :)
Whatever....leaving people twisting in the wind is not nice.
Why
are so many of you playing Danielle's game? I don't for one minute believe she/he has any more access to GTEM info than us. Her/his statements are general and can can be utilized to "prove" her/his predictive prowess regardless of what news the company releases. You know....throw enough crap at the wall and some is bound to stick.
Some people require attention and will do whatever it takes to get it.
"The daily candle formation is very bullish and tues will either confrim its billishness or not!".
Will someone tell me what that statement means. It sounds a bit like a "definite maybe". Where's the predictive value in that? Is this what TA's all about? I can do as much with the flip of a coin. :)

I'm not sure GTEM will come out of the SEC without a few dings. I just don't think it'll be life threating. No question it hangs heavy at the moment but it's not the only thing depressing the price. I guess that's stating the obvious. :)
May the forza be with you.
My email address is " john_lynch733@verizon.net " if you want to talk music.

Absolutely! Nothing prevents either party from walking away right now. Ever hear of a 20 game winner insisting on renegotiating his contract? Happens all the time. It's called brinksmanship. :)

If I can jump in here, I think the SEC might find some accounting "anomalies" but I don't think they will be judged as fraud. As I indicated before, the cloud hanging over GTEM will dissipate slowly rather than disappear. That's unfortunate but it's the way things are done by many investigating bodies. They're loath to issue exonerating statements on the chance they might see fit to address the matter in the future.
I'm not going to lecture you about investing your entire IRA savings in GTEM. That's not my place. I just hope you're young enough to recover if you bought at higher prices.
Your board name is interesting. I'm familiar with "La forza del destino", composed by some hack named Giuseppe Verdi (Joe Green to the uninitiated.):)
Good luck

"Hype is plans, hopes, & expectations......".
Hate to be picky here but the dissemination of "plans hopes and expectations" is a legitimate and necessary process of communication with shareholders. Some people call it "guidance". Labeling that process as " hype" is, in my opinion, unfair and suggests a negative connotation. I'll give you this, however. there's a point beyond which any info does become hype. I don't know where that line is but like the man says, I'll know it when I see it. In GTEM's case we knew it AFTER we saw it....time after time..after....:):)
The recent PRs are certainly not hype. They're as understated as you can get without causing one to nod off. That's assuming the information is true. Given GTEMs current situation, you might not bet the ranch that it is but you could at least mortgage the outhouse. :)
In one of your messages you said that you'd probably be jumpin' in again at some point. I'm not sure of your trigger point and I wasn't sure if it was TA related or not. Can you clarify? If it's TA related, I'd appreciate your responding on the TA board.
I always enjoy reading your posts.

"But my tinfoil hat tells me this is a pattern too watch! When it changes the insiders will be ready for a new 3 leg 3 month climb play. And the hype will be seen again. IMO"
Maybe this time it'll be less style and more substance. If so, will it still qualify as "hype" in your eyes? Is everything hype, true or not?
I don't know if any
institution in the US would take any bid from GTEM seriously so long the company is sporting the equivalent of a "scarlet letter".The SEC stuff is weighing heavily on everything the company does. That'll have to be resolved before we see any real progress in the PPS.
If the SEC results are positive (or at least not negative), the tort actions will wither. Don't expect any positive announcement from the SEC, however. At best, you'll most likely hear nothing from them. The company might make a statement suggesting they're off the hook, though.
