That would be a strange way to do the deal. If the price was lower than it is, currently, it would mean GTC would have paid a significant premium. Why would they do that if they could have purchased it cheaper on the open market?
If what you think is true, there must be something else (we're unaware of) included to sweeten the pot.
I haven't followed this drama very closely. I might be oversimplifying things. If so, I'd appreciate a heads up.
