Just east of Lodi
Maybe worth a trip.

Sounds pretty good.
Way over my budget, but I will scrimp and save and keep my eye out for it.
Does anyone know the due dates for HRCT's quarterly filings?
"China has an active cyber espionage program," the US-China Economic and Security Review Commission said in its annual report to the US Congress. "China is targeting US government and commercial computers."
In its 393-page report, the panel also criticized Beijing for exercising "heavy-handed government control" over its economy and "continuing arms sales and military support to rogue regimes" such as Sudan, Myanmar and Iran.
The commission also issued a warning about China's space program. "China continues to make significant progress in developing space capabilities, many of which easily translate to enhanced military capacity," it said.
"Although some Chinese space programs have no explicit military intent, many space systems -- such as communications, navigation, meteorological, and imagery systems -- are dual use in nature," the commission said.
The commission, which was established by Congress in 2000 to analyze the economic and national security relationship between the two nations, said China was investing heavily in cyber warfare.

"Since China's current cyber operations capability is so advanced, it can engage in forms of cyber warfare so sophisticated that the United States may be unable to counteract or even detect the efforts," the commission said.
It said Chinese hacker groups may be operating with government support.
"By some estimates, there are 250 hacker groups in China that are tolerated and may even be encouraged by the government to enter and disrupt computer networks," the commission said.
It quoted Colonel Gary McAlum, chief of staff for the US Strategic Command's Joint Task Force for Global Network Operations, as saying China has recognized the importance of cyber operations as a tool of warfare and "has the intent and capability to conduct cyber operations anywhere in the world at any time."
"China is aggressively pursuing cyber warfare capabilities that may provide it with an asymmetric advantage against the United States," the commission said. "In a conflict situation, this advantage would reduce current US conventional military dominance."
The commission recalled that unclassified US military, government and government contractor websites and computer systems were the victims of cyber intrusions in 2002 codenamed "Titan Rain" and attributed to China.
And earlier this month The Financial Times, citing an unnamed senior US official, reported that Chinese hackers -- possibly with backing by the Beijing government -- had penetrated the White House computer network and obtained emails between government officials.
The commission made 45 recommendations to Congress including possible "additional funding for military, intelligence and homeland security programs that monitor and protect critical American computer networks."
Every trade is always a buy and a sell.
"But most economists think the stimulus package will be enough to keep growth at 7.5-8% for the year as a whole. If so, of the world’s eight biggest economies, China will be the only one to enjoy any growth next year; most forecasters expect all the others to contract. Indeed, the IMF’s latest forecast of 8.5% GDP growth implies that China will account for almost half of all the increase in world output next year."

My promise for a daily post clearly failed, but the data continues to be entered on a daily basis at: www. timelinesdb.com
Top story of the day:
2008 Nov 16, Iraq's Cabinet approved a security pact with the United States that will allow American forces to stay in Iraq for three years after their UN mandate expires at the end of the year. 7 people died and 7 others were wounded in a suicide car bombing at a police checkpoint in Diyala province. A roadside bomb in a Sunni enclave of Baghdad killed three people and wounded 7 at a checkpoint belonging to US-backed fighters. The US military said Iraq's Shiite-dominated government is making good on promises to pay thousands of US-backed Sunni fighters in Baghdad, despite some government unease over the alliance.

My question was not about HRCT, but why you thought the markets would crash today.
Why do you say that?
Wave typically reports Q4 around March 12. Q1 then follows around May 12.
2007 Oct 15, Members of the Trusted Computing Group (TCG) have elected representatives from Fujitsu Limited, Seagate Technology and Wave Systems Corp. to the organization's board of directors.
(IHub #153,021, 10/15/07)
Today’s CC was I believe the longest, as far as I can recall, and the most detailed in answering current shareholders questions. SS spent a lot of time answering questions from individual share holders. Most companies end their CCs within a half hour of start. SS assured that breakeven would likely happen by Q1 2009. There was even the possibility of BE occurring in Q4, 2008. SS also noted that shareholder confidence played a big roll in the current stock price and that the share price was only about 15 cents away from a base requirement for NASDAQ rules. He also noted that though current cash was light, a new Dell royalty check was pending based in part on higher valued software packages. For those who sell into this news tomorrow, there will be buyers. Some cash will need to be raised for the short term, but with the current prospects, the picture 3-4 months from now looks to rapidly improve.
Some IHubbers have over a hundred times that and are adding to their holdings.
It's the recession. The picture is unclear on how it will impact China and companies that do business there, like SRRY.
Here's a summary of Wave's financing back to May 24, 2007. Looks like a pretty favorable trend to me:
2007 May 24, $15 million
2008 Mar 3, $3.5 million
2008 May 23, $1.7 million
2008 Jul 1, $1.6 million
2008 Aug 11, $821,000
2008 Sep 12, $756,800
2008 Sep 30, $211,200
2008 Oct 31, $721,000
It's always nice to hear a minority opinion, but in this case your agenda is suspect.
In our dreams...
If the company fails to get financing, they will have to declare bankruptcy. They could then restructure and all your shares would become worthless.
I recommend goblin fur for the shawl. Don't worry about the broom, there's room on mine!!
Never did like pumpkin pie, but taste changes and it may be time to try it again. Maybe an ice wine would match well. Your costume looks pretty done to me.
Not from me right now. Nice pumpkin. Is that you're Halloween costume?
Seagate is poised to rapidly rise. It is extremely undervalued and has products that will continue to sell even under the current economic crises... that said the company is still buying back shares.
One of these days in the near future there will be news regarding a major WAVX contract or perhaps an asset sale or some other significant event that will spark a buying frenzy. Even if this news does not come before Q3 numbers, the company appears to be at or near break-even and on the cusp of becoming very publicly acknowledged as the premier player in hardware based computer security. We should know for sure when the Q3 numbers get posted in early November. Revenue will be up. The only question is by how much.
The discerning eye is not commonplace.
Indeed, some basements are full of junk, but others are filled with treasure. IMHO we have unrecognized treasure here.
Yes, I think we have bargain basement prices here.
National Day yesterday. They may be recuperating.
1,000,000 x .0001 = $100
Big time? LOL
In all this current financial turmoil HRCT is rather well positioned:
1) HRCT is not associated with any toxic real estate or banking positions.
2) HRCT is outside the meltdown of US financial institutions.
3) HRCT is smack in the center of the world's largest growing economy and is now focused on providing educational tools to that growing student populace.
Add to this that HRCT under new management appears to have access to capital for growth and is expected to soon report some revenue for the first time in years makes these shares IMHO truly valuable.
What store did you find it at?
L5 briefly:
Yes...
Probably not...
Hope so...
No!
Is this part of the continuing roller coaster ahead of a dive tomorrow, or the long awaited rebound to a better future? Stay tuned... and do not forget "If you need powdered milk, consider Lake Wobegon, Minn."
MDT: You did not mention the size of your trade.
I find this subject very interesting, though it could be purely academic as the WAVX scenario continues to improve.
Late trading with a drop in price could be due to at least 3 reasons:
1) An intended short sale to drive the price down.
2) An investor's desperation sale to access funds (been there, done that).
3) A simple frustration late sell at market.
I would welcome more insight on this issue.
More interesting is who is selling them!!
Today's WSJ has a 5-page special advertisement in section one by Symantec on IT Security. Sure would be nice if WAVX were able to do something like this, perhaps in association with its TCG partners.
I have an antique beer bottle that's worth about $50, but it doesn't taste very good.
No fees and no requirement to take stock certificates.
Thanks for the note on short sales.
I moved all of my WAVX shares into "Safekeeping" today. Waterhouse said it would have to do this for all my holdings. Apparently it would be a book keeping or software headache to do it for just one security. Waterhouse was also able to make an exception for my margin accounts, which normally require making all margin account shares available for shorting.
I urge all WAVX long holders to do the same.
2001 Bogel “Phantom” Old Vine Blend (California)
A MUST HAVE WINE! This blend of Old Vine 40% Zinfandel 50% Petite Sirah 10% Mourvedre has a medium dark color, and lots of wonderfully smooth black cherry and raspberry taste and flavor. The tannins are soft (hey, its old vines) and the wine has a pleasing touch of oak on the finish that lingers and lingers. Enjoy this red wine with a good grilled steak or even barbequed chicken. Watch out – this wine may run out fast as it did last year! $18.99
