Dubai - Emirates Today
the date: December 10, 2023
Dubai witnessed the launch of the “Morand” project for electric car charging systems with modern technology that takes only two minutes, the time to fully charge the car. It is a technology developed by the Swiss engineering company “Morand Hauling”. The project is the result of a partnership and alliance between the Swiss company and the Emirati “Concord Alliance” investment company to provide rechargeable batteries. With a capacity of about 7.2 kWh, a small city car can cover up to 70 kilometers in full electricity or about 305 kilometers in hybrid mode.
The recharging time is just under two minutes, and the battery life cycle can be recharged 50,000 times compared to regular batteries, which have a lifespan of 2000-3000 recharging cycles. The partnership agreement was signed on the sidelines of the activities of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP28), between Esmeralda Chekjao, CEO of Concord Alliance Investment Company, and Benoît Morand, founder of Morand Hauling, in the presence of Abdelrahman Falaknaz, Chairman of the Board of Directors. Management of Concord Alliance Investment Company, Mansour Falaknaz, advisor to Concord Alliance Investment, and Gladys Morand, a shareholder in Morand Holing.
Abdul Rahman Falaknaz, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Concord Alliance Investment Company, said: “The partnership and launch of the new project comes in line with the vision of the wise leadership of the United Arab Emirates to reduce the carbon footprint, and the project is a contribution to reducing carbon dioxide emissions, in an era in which the primary focus of all Countries must protect our environment by using renewable energy, and the new technology used in the Morand project can play a major role in achieving the desired goals in the region.”
“I am very happy to bring this technology to the UAE, a country that provides abundant opportunities for everyone,” said Esmeralda Shikjao, CEO of Concord Alliance Investment Company, adding: “This technology could represent the beginning of a new era in the field of sustainable mobility.” She added: “We are very pleased to work in line with the vision of the UAE leadership. Our leaders have taken a big step towards the future of climate protection by organizing the 28th Climate Change Conference of the Parties, which is a great success. She stressed that the best of this technology The partnership is that we are entering it within the framework of the United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP28). She continued: “The CESA Advanced Hybrid system that Morand follows has a long life cycle with very low maintenance requirements,” noting that “temperature has little effect on performance.” It is safer than other storage systems with built-in fire resistance.
Benoit Morand, founder of Morand Hauling, expressed his happiness after signing the partnership and said that he is confident of obtaining an unprecedented result and success with this technology. "I am really proud to represent my country. It is a great honor to sign a partnership in the UAE, and I hope to achieve unprecedented success with this technology that is five years

I hope he is reading this, but I don think that.
Sorry for my english
I have been in contact with an Albanian official and I expressed my opinion about the Shala project, telling him that for me it was an unviable project.
He replied, "I wouldn't say that, it can wake up from one day to the next."
Although for me the Shala project is insignificant....
Multifunctional Center in Vjosa Park - Rama: We are in the phase of reviewing the protected areas
14:23 - 12/06/2023
Three studios selected among 16 applications, presented their projects for the Multifunctional Center and Information Stations, which will be built in the Vjosa National Park. The center will serve as a place of meeting, information, dialogue, scientific research and exchange between different visitors, while the winning project will be chosen by a jury composed of the best Albanian and international experts, with the participation of Prime Minister Edi Rama .
I have the full conviction that this project, which will begin to materialize immediately after the selection of the winner, will be the project that will open exactly that path of future perspective, not only for fish and for birds and for flowers, but and for the people and above all for the girls and boys who grow up in the middle of this miracle of nature, but who cannot live only by looking at nature, but need to find all the reasons to build their lives in that area, having the opportunity to live as well as Vjosa himself, protected, supported and financed by their economic and social activity.
Meanwhile, Rama also spoke about the draft law that was submitted by 12 deputies of the Socialist Party for changes in the law "On protected areas", which aims to open construction roads within the territories that have protection status.
Today, we are in a phase of revising the protected areas that come as a result of a continuous persistent request of a considerable number of mayors, who are aware of the need to consolidate nature, but who are naturally ambitious and under great pressure for economic and social development. And the combination of these two is a must. So, neither the fantasizing of one party to oppose everything, nor the unquestioned need to touch everything in the name of development, should prevent us from finding a balance as harmonious as possible between the two, which the program and the project of Vjosa as a national park will continue to guide us and whoever will be in front of us to show us how nature is protected, how we should be aware of the protection of nature, how we should not touch anything around us we will remember the Vjosa National Park.
Even the MPs who submitted the draft argue the need to change the law with the obstacles created on the ground to develop projects within areas that enjoy protection status, which the current law prohibits due to the irreversible damage they cause to the environment.

Climate finance takes centre stage at COP28 climate talks
By Simon Jessop, Maha El Dahan and Hadeel Al Sayegh

DUBAI, Dec 4 (Reuters) - Money pledges grabbed the spotlight again at COP28 in Dubai on Monday as delegates turned their focus to the yawning gap in the need for climate finance and what's on offer.
The United Arab Emirates, the host of this year's conference, pledged $270 billion in green finance by 2030 through its banks, and several development banks made fresh moves to scale up their funding efforts, including by agreeing to pause debt repayments when disaster strikes.
But leaders of the region's biggest economy and the world's biggest oil producer Saudi Arabia have so far not attended the U.N. summit, in sharp contrast to their participation in last year's COP27 conference in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt.
On Monday, Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman, energy minister and the key climate negotiator, for the kingdom, was a no-show at the Saudi Green Initiative. De facto ruler Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman also did not deliver a speech to world leaders as scheduled on Friday.
VAST NEEDS
The amount of cash needed for the energy transition, climate adaptation and disaster relief is overwhelming.
A report released Monday estimated that emerging markets and developing countries will need $2.4 trillion a year in investment to cap emissions and adapt to the challenges posed by climate change.
"The world is not on track to realise the goals of the Paris Agreement. The reason for this failure is a lack of investment, particularly in emerging market and developing countries outside China," said co-author Nicholas Stern, chair of the Grantham Research Institute on Climate Change and the Environment.

"The central challenge is to accelerate and implement the fostering and financing of this investment from a range of sources."
Vulnerable countries that are already being hit by costly climate disasters are asking for billions more through a newly formed disaster fund, although current pledges are only around $700 million.
"Unless we have an urgent set of decision-making, we are going to suffer what every parent suffers from - exciting expectations and being unable to deliver," said Barbados Prime Minister Mia Mottley, who has become a prominent voice in global discussions about mobilising climate finance.

The US pledges $3 billion to the green climate fund at COP28!
12:02 - 12/03/2023
The United States has pledged $3 billion to the Green Climate Fund, Vice President Kamala Harris said Saturday in Dubai at the UN's COP28 climate summit.
The fund, with more than $20 billion in pledges, is the largest international fund dedicated to supporting climate action in developing countries.
The latest pledge, which Reuters first reported, will be in addition to another $2 billion previously committed by the United States.
Sources said the commitment was subject to availability of funds. The politically divided US Congress must authorize the funding. US Vice President Kamala Harris announced the pledge in her speech at the summit.
"Today I'm also proud to announce a new $3 billion pledge to the Green Climate Fund, which helps developing countries invest in resilience, clean energy and nature-based solutions," she said.
The fund's facilitators said in October that the current second round of top-ups had brought about $9.3 billion in pledges to finance projects in climate-vulnerable counties between 2024 and 2027.
However, the pledges so far represent a fraction of the roughly $250 billion that developing countries would need each year by 2030 just to adapt to a warmer world, according to the United Nations. In addition to supporting climate adaptation, the fund also finances projects to help countries transition to clean energy.
Harris, who is representing the United States at COP28 in place of President Joe Biden, is part of a US delegation that also includes climate envoy John Kerry and dozens of senior administration officials and cabinet members.
“It was important to both the president and the vice president to make sure that a leader from the United States was at the COP,” one official said, adding that Harris wanted “to make sure we're telling the world the story of the progress we've made. in the USA"

"Invest within protected areas" - 12 MPs of SP demand legal changes: Do not ban any project!
14:56 - 11/23/2023
12 deputies of the Socialist Party demand the amendment of the law "On protected areas", in order to open the way for investments in those territories, which are currently prohibited. Through a draft law filed in the Assembly, the deputies argue the need to change the law with the obstacles created on the ground to develop projects within areas that enjoy protection status, which the current law prohibits due to the irreversible damage they bring to the environment.
The draft also requires changes for "National Parks", which are among the areas with the highest category of protection, seeking to make exceptions in cases where the National Council of the Territory, the responsible ministry or the relevant municipalities prove that the investment is of a level of national importance , but which must still respect the protection criteria. According to the accompanying report, the draft law aims to regulate some problems that come as a result of the implementation of the current law on the ground. Also, according to the deputies, the current law does not solve the deadlocks that exist in reality, such as the overlapping of "Priority Development Areas" with "Protected Areas".
This is not the first time that it is intended to pave the way for investments within protected areas. In January 2022, the government approved new maps fragmenting these territories, after a process that has been strongly opposed by civil society organizations operating in the environmental field. This case has already been filed in court, as the organizations have argued that "the decisions aim to legislate the destruction of the protected coastal and wetland areas of Albania, affecting Lake Shkodra, the Bune-Velipoja ecosystem, the Kune-Vain, Tale and Patok wetlands, The National Parks of Divjakë-Karavasta and Butrint, as well as the Vjosë-Nartë and Pishë-Poro areas".

Albania, Kosovo, Greece, N. Macedonia sign MoU on common day-ahead power market
AuthorGenta Hodo
PublishedNov 15, 2023 16:52 EESTTIRANA
November 15 (SeeNews) - Alpex, a joint venture company of the transmission system operators of Albania and Kosovo, said on Wednesday it signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Greece's Independent Power Transmission Operator IPTO, the Greek energy regulator, and North Macedonia’s power transmission company MEPSO on establishing a common day-ahead electricity market.
“These two days of meetings and signing the MoU represent a lot more than agreement. It's a statement about the power and importance of regional cooperation that we are building to have extra safeguard mechanisms at a time when energy security is of highest importance,” the CEO of Alpex, Sokol Dishnica, said as quoted in a social media post.
The MoU also envisages collaboration in promoting regional energy transition and energy security.
Alpex was founded in October 2020 by Albania’s power transmission system operator OST and its Kosovo counterpart KOSTT as shareholders with 57.25% and 42.75% interest, respectively. Its first day-ahead auction for the Albanian market was held in April.

VOA/Shkodër, experts are concerned about the damage to the Drin ecosystem
08:03, 19/11/2023
In the first regional conference "Integrated Forest Management along the Drin River Basin", held in Shkodër, environmental experts from Albania, Kosovo, Montenegro and North Macedonia raise concerns about the state of the largest water basin in the Balkan region. Western. With a length of 285 kilometers and a total area of ??the basin of 14173 km2, the Drini is one of the most important natural assets for the four countries of the region, so, according to the environmental expert, Mark Rupa, from the CNVP organization, "We protect the values ??of nature and people", the four countries are facing the same problems in managing the situation along the Drin water basin.
"The terrible transformations that this basin has had, especially during the last 50 years, especially from the construction of dams, from forest fires, illegal logging, the abandonment of the territory by people, requires taking urgent measures."
According to expert Kliti Starja, director of performance analysis at the National Forestry Agency of Albania, the problems in the Drin watershed have a direct impact on the economy of the northern region of Albania, but also on the future of the country's largest hydropower plants, which were built on the Drin cascade.
"Since we have the degradation of forest surfaces, maybe as a result of mismanagement, but mainly as a result of fires, an effect that is also related to climate change, it means that the erosion of the basin has increased and we will have faster filling of hydropower plants located on this river in Albania. And we also have energy challenges related to the Drin watershed".
In Albania, according to INSTAT, during the last 10 years, 23,815 hectares of forests and pastures have been burned by fires, a large part in the northern area of ??the country where the water basin of the Drin river also lies.
With the climate changes of recent years, says the expert Starja, even in the forest sector, the challenges are global, so the solutions must be coordinated between the countries of the region, in order to respond in time to the climate changes.
The Drin basin, according to expert from Kosovo Tahir Ahmeti, director of the forestry department in the Ministry of Agriculture of Kosovo, constitutes almost half of the territory of Kosovo and the main forest resources are located there, which makes it one of the most important natural and economic values . Since we are proud to be the first of the Drin's streams, he says, it is up to us to take responsibility for the pollution, but also for the cases of mismanagement that occur in the bed of the Drin River.
"I believe that the main problem is erosion, soil, stones, other materials carried by the Drini and deposited around it. There is a long history of this issue in Kosovo. Immediately after the war, the only source of construction material, sand and gravel, was taken from Drini. This has greatly degraded the river bed, but this has also been helped by the illegal logging that has taken place in the forests."
In the first regional conference "Integrated management of forests along the Drin river basin", experts emphasized the fact that the consequences of mismanagement, unilateral interventions in the ecosystem and damages caused to this water basin by climate change and human interventions, bring consequences for the four countries of the region through which the Drini flows.
The importance of the Drin basin has prompted the CNVP organization, with the financial support of the Austrian Agency for Cooperation and Development, to undertake the three-year project for the integrated management of forest areas in the transboundary catchment area of ??the Drin River, which extends to Albania, Kosovo, Macedonia of the North and Montenegro, harmonizing development policies and promoting the involvement of local communities in the integrated good management of the natural ecosystem of this common river./VOA/

The trip is tiring and of course even having knowledge of many of the hidden events here I have felt discouraged.
But beyond the details or strong facts written in stone that I was lucky enough to become aware of, I believe that there is something basic in this story and it is.
A billionaire does not waste so much time, effort and money nor does he involve the best companies in a project that will not come to fruition.
I am aware that Falaknaz, faced with some setbacks, could have thrown the towel and did not do so. But he always redoubled his bet.
So let's be as calm as we can and not get into meaningless discussions that are not worth it.
Greetings
It is not about fear but about prudence.
Why should I publicly disclose conversations, chats, emails, phone calls, zoom sessions, etc., etc.? Collected from many years ago until these days when people are very involved in Falakmaz projects, have you trusted me?
I know almost everything that happened behind the scenes and what went wrong. And let me tell you that we are in the final steps of a great RM. Many people are working in Dubai, Ireland and New York.
A couple of months ago Falaknaz instructed his people to end the audits
Of course I'm not asking you to believe me. Only that according to my DD I can be 100% sure of each of my words and I am not trying to get anyone to buy or sell shares. Which in any case today is almost impossible.
Greetings.
No. We are sitting here waiting for the merger audits get done. Its %100 a fact that we are in a reverse merger.
We need an extra bit of patience
Inside Story/ Suspicious transaction, "Gener 2" transferred 40% of HEC shares worth millions of euros for free
11/08/2023 21:57
On September 10, 2020, ERE has licensed the company "SEKA HYDROPOWER", in the activity of electricity production from HECs: "Seke" and "Zais" for a term of 28 years
What stands out is that in the past, the company "GENER 2" was also a shareholder of the company with 40% of the shares. We are talking about the same entity that built the HPP on the Valbona river in Tropoja, damaging one of the pearls of Albanian nature.
SEKA HYDROPOWER shpk is a concessionary company created by the temporary merger of the companies "GENER 2" shpk and HYDRO-PROJECT shpk for the implementation of the concessionary contract related to the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Energy in 2012.
But only one year after the conclusion of this fat contract, in 2013, by the decision of the assembly of partners of the company, the departure of the partner "GENER 2", who will transfer 40% of the shares owned by him in favor of the other partner, is approved "Hydro-Project", against no reward.
This is a questionable passage where "GENER 2" agrees to pass 40% of the quotas without any reward for an asset worth millions of euros. In this way, "HYRDO-PROJECT" shpk becomes the sole partner of the company with 100% of the shares.

Inside Story/ "Gener 2" secured the concession for HPPs in the protected area of ??Zall Gjoçaj, how the habitats were destroyed
11/08/2023 21:51
The same phenomenon has also happened with the construction of a Hec in the area of ??the watershed of the Uraka River and Zalli i Melthi.
This area with a VKM of 2018 has joined the Lure park creating a single Lure-Mali i Deja park. Thus, the HPP results in the interior of the park. Residents and civil society activists have opposed the construction and operation of this HEC-.
" After the construction of a HPP in the Zall-Gjoçaj national park, which is 2500 meters inside the national park in the strict part of the park, the interruption of the flow of Flim for 25 km has paralyzed all life in the area, including living things, bees, agriculture, livestock and water potable as this is a potable source. With the interruption of the water, all activity in the area has been interrupted ", said the activist Dhimitër Koleci, activist.
"Both rivers have been completely exhausted by the company that took the water, it has been diverted, the water is taken in Zall-Gjocaj, it goes out to Kroi Kola, it goes into a tunnel and the surface of 25 km of the river is without a single drop of water. We in the village have nothing to do, neither livestock nor beekeeping, they can't live without water. And we have our lives connected with this, with animal husbandry and beekeeping ", said resident Adem Gjokola.
The company that built the hydropower plant took water from the two rivers that cross the village of Gjoçaj, leaving the residents at the mercy of fate. The only source of water is this small tap which is not enough for a family and not for the whole village.
"Here we are in the village of Gjocaj, this is the tap of the town, almost the whole town here fills with water. Both rivers have dried up and they have been used for hydropower plants. They took the Flim river in Zall-Gjocaj, they also took the Selita river that comes here on the other side and became HEC-e. It has damaged the whole village, whether for cattle or for all the things it has. Even when people didn't have water here, they used to go to the river and wash their clothes ", said the residents of the area.

Shala project will face strong resistance to go forward. But not to much as Skavica.
But anyway we have a 200M project. Where are the rest of 3.8B in projects?

CWP is a pioneer of renewable energy in Southeast Europe (SEE), successfully developing the largest wind farms in Serbia (156 MW Cibuk project) and Romania (600 MW Fântânele-Cogealac project). In 2018, having been primarily focused on Australia for the previous few years, we anticipated emerging trends and opportunities in the SEE region and resumed full-scale development with the aim of offering a large and diverse portfolio in the period 2022-2025.
In 2021, CWP entered into a joint venture with Mercuria Energy Trading, one of the world's largest independent energy traders with more than $100 billion in revenue. The purpose of the partnership is to complement CWP's portfolio in the region, combining Mercuria's energy trading expertise and financial strength with CWP's deep renewable energy and local experience. This has enabled CWP to meet its already ambitious plans and improve its low-cost green energy offering to corporate customers.
CWP's mission is to accelerate the energy transition in the region by increasing the share of renewable sources in the energy mix, thereby increasing energy independence and reducing greenhouse gas emissions. Bulgaria, Serbia, Romania and Ukraine are the most carbon-intensive energy markets in Europe, with coal still dominating the energy mix. These countries also have some of the most polluted air in Europe and some of the highest rates of premature death caused by air pollution in the developed world. Their decarbonisation is an urgent priority and will require tens of thousands of megawatts of wind and solar power.
Drawing on the experience and innovative business models we have developed and perfected in Australia, combined with our deep understanding of the local energy landscape and our long-standing presence in the SEE, we are ideally positioned to lead the transition of energy towards renewable sources without subsidies. Our commitment to community engagement – ??an approach which creates genuine and long-term positive relationships with all stakeholders, including landowners and local communities – allows us to achieve this by creating successful and impactful projects that deliver value for all parties involved.
