EVERY time I finish buying, the price goes down! As a contrary indicator, I could start a following.
The development of a sense of humor is very important for enjoying life. It's easy if you try.
True Xena. There is little to no
political will from either side to bust up the "too big to fail" gang. Breaking up monopolies has been very successful and beneficial historically speaking. Remember the ATT break up for an example. And of course there was the trust busting of the Theodore Roosevelt era. Both allowed for more competition and caused new companies to bloom in size much faster than if the original company had been allowed to stay as one.
As the article supports, the opportunity for action was during the 2008 financial crisis. Dodd-Frank was an attempt to do something in the absence of real reform. Half-measures are often doomed to allow the system to repeat the same problems and regulations that are not continually refined are worked around, resulting in new versions of the same old problems. We do not have a regulatory system that allows for necessary changes. Nearly all adjustments are stymied by interest groups lobbying in D.C. and the money they contribute to the representatives there. Apparently, it takes a true disaster for action of any kind to be attempted.
While we all watch the slow crash, I own some shares of a little company that promises to change the way we live. Let us hope that LWLG can keep its roots tightly held to the ground during this new economic crisis. I have confidence that they will.
Cheers,
Toby
Same here. A mere few thousand for me but sticking like glue.
Same here. A mere few thousand for me but sticking like glue.
Thank you KCCO7913. It is a privilege to have you and the team providing us with your reports and interpretations.
This is going to be an exiting year.
Very cool! If they go into production I'm in!
I would like to thank all the folks that took time from their lives to share their thoughts, eye-witness reports, and commentary on the ASM. I am a woodworker and antique home restoration specialist with a relatively small number of shares compared with many of the "long longs", but measured as a percentage of my overall "wealth", I imagine that I am up there with the best of you. I hope that I can buy more before lift-off. My dream; I'd like to have a bigger workshop with more tools before my body and brain wears out. I imagine that could happen...
The combined efforts of these good posters to communicate events and information reassure me that we are on the brink of something big.
I want a teeshirt!
Cheers and thanks,
Toby
3000 hours = 125 days = mid January 2022. Point of reference.
A lesson for us all from Michael Lebby;
"Be nice — people like to work with people who are pleasant. Business is about getting things done, and yes, there are instances when nice won’t work, but it does most of the time. In my perspective, the majority of people tend to want to enjoy working with people, and whether they are nice is revealed through their interpersonal skill-base."
I imagine this applies everywhere in life, even this discussion board.
Cheers,
Toby
I agree with you.
Thank you for your explanation, but...
it still begs the question; why is LWLG not there?
Perhaps I'm missing something.
"ALL the big players attending"
But I don't see Lightwave Logic. There is a co. called Lightwave but it does not appear to be us. Please explain.
Thanks noblynx, that was an imaginative and wonderful post.
Beautiful thoughts and right on. I identify with the message. We have the product but the world is more than weird these days. Keep the faith brother Paul.
Apparently I was too early with my enthusiasm. Guess I'll just have to buy some more at lower prices.
Thanks! I only hope it wasn't in vain! (sic).
Small fry here - I feel a change coming in the wind. I'm buying.
You have a good read on the day -
and the big picture yanqui. I very much agree.
Best of luck to you.
The market as a whole is disturbed.

what is your favourite rag?
Used to love it, in the past of course.
Dropped my subscription recently because they seem so "middle of the road".
Perhaps you don't have a library card.

Last Christmas I was visited by three ghosts, one of them, Marley, my former business partner, (I know, just like the Dickens story, but it happened to me too!). It was quite an evening, I mean really, three ghosts in one night - true, all true, not boasting!
But I digress... It's too long a story and would take me an hour to relate here so I'll cut to the chase... I learned something important from the experience.
First of all, people with disabilities like Tiny Tim have a lot to say if you pay attention. Quite notably he said to me, "God bless us, every one!" I know, again like Dickens, but I swear it happened to me too.
,
Impossible to forget that kid. Man, he really knew how to get his message across to me in that dream - so simple, direct, and true - wow!
The next day after Tim dropped that most quotable phrase and the ghosts scared the hell out of me, I vowed that I might be more generous with my wealth instead of just watching my stocks, buying cool stuff online, etc., and start to focus more on giving and offering kindness to others, even deferring judgement of their acts and failings, though it's tempting sometimes. I'm told it's God's job to judge, not mine. I'm not very religious, but I believe that's about right.
Helping to feed the hungry and promoting education for those less well off than I, yes, those are good ideas too. I should work on that.
I'm not perfect of course, there is this little company that makes a polymer that could be transformative, ubiquitous even, (see LWLG), that I often pay too much attention to when I could be doing something more productive,... but I'm losing track of my story here...
I can't solve all the problems in the world. But I can do my part and do it with good spirit and true heart.
Giving is joy. We need more joy. There is a shortage of joy.
I offer the following wish in memory of friends that have left our world this year as well as friends and family from the past.
I am wishing everyone at this message board, their families and communities here in the good old USA and all around the world, a prosperous and healthy Christmas season and New Year.
As my pal Tiny Tim said; "God bless us, every one!"
Cheers,
Toby
Cool, I'm there...
Hi frobinso,
I am afraid you misunderstood me. I am not a former Intel employee, merely a Cape Cod woodworker and former IDCC stock owner. I got in a bit late with an average of around 10 per share but I could to be happier with my decision to buy into LWLG. This is a great board with super information and dedicated contributors. My only complaint is that too many here attempt to seriously engage with the clearly manipulative thugs that seem to be nearly everywhere on message boards. It gets tiresome when you get older. We have limited time on earth. And yet I admit, sometimes I take a sarcastic stab at some of these pests just for fun - I'm not perfect! But mostly I stay out of the way and watch and learn.
To the moon!!!
Cheers,
Toby, formerly clamcakes from IDCC board
I watched Steve's video earlier and am more intrigued than ever. Some sad crumb bums despair over their failures and missed chances in life while the rest of us celebrate today and TOMORROW. I'm in the later category.
Very excited for this company and the ideas and people that drive it. Inn all the way.
Toby
"Intel had a photonic research group long before Lightwave existed, hell even when I worked for them. Lebby even worked for them for a time"
Ah yes, the olden days...
I sold the last of my IDCC today after 20 years. I'm afraid my patience had worn out after so much promise and self-indulgent behaviour by the executives and BOD. I could say more but you have heard it all from one poster or another.
I have fond memories of many of our past members here that have passed without seeing the full promise of the company. I do wish I had had a chance to meet some of you all and them. Maybe some day, somehow...
To those that remain I wish you "Fair winds", the best of luck, and good health.
Formerly clamcakes.
Cheers,
Toby
Love this thread. Just bought two trees because of you!
Thank you olddog, I worry that analyst ratings are often too much one way or the other, positive or negative. As we can see, it would be a mistake for an individual new to IDCC to bet the farm on one or two analysts ratings. Still holding some and hoping for the best for all of us.
Thanks again, Toby
How has B. Riley done with their targets for IDCC over the last several years?
I agree on all counts, but I can't help but feel that optimism is based on no factual information, rather the opposite - mere emotion, group think and market volatility. It will be a while, maybe a long while, before we see a conclusion to the China trade issue. And let's be realistic; if what I say is true then it may be a long time after after that when IDCC sees actual signed agreements as a result of an end to the trade war.
In my opinion if a small investor still has any holding here in this crappy situation, I imagine getting out the next time there is an irrational rise in stock price, (no major signing), and calling it quits. Otherwise one could be looking at dead money for several years. Sorry to be so negative, but with these conditions what would lead an investor of IDCC to believe anything else besides mere wishful thinking?
I wish all here well. And extra good wishes for Jim L.
Cheers,
T
DEAD WRONG. Just because they used the word socialist does not mean that they were socialists by the definition of the word. Even if they espoused some socialist views, they perverted it to the extreme, ie;"fake news". It is wrong and irresponsible to represent modern socialism as having any roots in Nazism.
I agree 100%.
Will a positive outcome for US/China negotiation be enough to raise the SP back to the mid 70's? The fact that the price has held as well as it has is remarkable.
Imagine, if you will, where IDCC might be without the corporate tax reduction and stock buy backs.
For the record, I still own a small portion of a once substantial, for me, investment in this co.
Good luck to the old crew,
Toby
You read that number wrong. That is disinformation, a.k.a. "fake news" disseminated by special interest groups including the oil industry. Here is a better estimate of bird deaths;https://science.howstuffworks.com/environmental/green-science/wind-turbine-kill-birds.htm
IDCC appears to be flirting with a two year low. I have no specific comment on why, as I haven't got a clue other than global pressures, litigation, and the usual etc.*. But I can't escape the conclusion that a lack of management and leadership/sales skills on the part of our "management" is ultimately to blame.
It is sad that there seems to be little to no respect from this company for the small investors that have lead the cheering squad for IDCC for so many years. If I had not severely pared my own shares in the low 80's I would be freaking out, yet the small number of shares that I still have grieve me as I watch this no-news cycle continue. Is it a good time to buy? Ha! Probably, but only if you dump the shares the next time it hits an irrational high like several times before. I do not have the stomach for that. I have lost faith and look forward to being done with this chapter of my life. How many hours have I spent reading and researching this? Holy crap! As the song goes, "Who knows where the time goes, who knows where the time goes?". It does run out for us all on many levels, including the ultimate one... And so I leave this interesting bunch of largely anonymous fellow posters behind. Fare thee well.
I wish those of you with more shares, (and faith), than I all the best.
Cheers,
Toby
* I have an opinion on that but this thread doesn't want or need to hear it.
