Poof they are gone.
Train wreck? That’s a little dramatic.
The EPA did an about face with Pebble, so I suppose its plausible given the current political climate.
Here is one that says $60.

Begun, means the start of the 90-day public comment period. on wether the EPA should withdraw.
At the close of the public comment and tribal consultation process, the EPA will decide whether to issue a final withdrawal.
Agreed. It is important to never lose sight of public opinion, it can be a powerful adversary as well as an impressive friend.
keep your friends close but your enemies closer.

Salmon people are not happy.
When Governor Walker came into office in 2014 Alaskans were promised a new era for Alaska and Fish First Policies. Unfortunately campaign promises have proven to be pure rhetoric, not reality. We’re writing you today with an urgent call for action and accountability from this administration.
This week, the Walker Administration rejected a ballot measure that would have promoted responsible resource development while creating clear standards to protect Alaska's wild salmon. We believe that this decision was wrong and we will be fighting it to ensure that Alaskan voters will have the opportunity to Stand for Salmon.
Tell Governor Walker you are disappointed he has chosen politics over wild salmon
It is disappointing that the Walker Administration is playing politics with our wild salmon resources and has decided to cater to the short-term interests of outside, multi-national mining companies instead of Alaskans and the salmon we depend on.
How disappointed are you in Governor Walker for ignoring thousands of Alaskans?
Wild salmon are an essential part the culture, identity and economic well-being of Alaskans. Tell Governor Walker it is time to update Alaska’s law to protect our wild salmon habitat and fisheries.
Sincerely,
Stand for Salmon
Who is the CEO of Hunter Dickinson AND Northern Dynasty?
Point is HD has been intimately involved with NAK for sometime now. I for one don't see what all the hub bub is about.
http://www.northerndynastyminerals.com/ndm/Management_Directors.asp
HDI OPERATES publicly traded companies, they are not partnering with them in the sense many here are hoping for.
The link is a dated article (2005) that mentions the relationship HDI has with Northern Dynasty and the Pebble project...12 years ago. https://www.caseyresearch.com/robert-dickinson-ronald-w-thiessen/
Right from the horses mouth, thanks.
I think this is the Canadian version of Northern Dynasty.

I am not implying anything, just like to know the source with facts. For my own knowledge.
NDM.TO already exists. IF you are talking about the US ticker, please post a link.

Six-person advisory committee has first meeting in Anchorage.

Yes the streams are far from the bay, but they flow into the bay. Those faraway streams are the breeding grounds for the salmon caught in said bay. It's all connected.
In order to know anti pebble culture you must immerse yourself in the local lifestyle. I don't mean Anchorage that's considered the big city. You must live in the bush.
For many Alaskans survival depends on the food gathered, hunted and fished locally and any threat gets people worked up.
Not very, imho.
Lobby groups,,, not much. Nothing listed in the 2017 Alaska Lobbyists directory (updated Feb 2017)
Anti pebble web sites :
http://www.stoppebblemine.org/. Its dated (lists Parnell as governor) and the sites top 3 ways to stop the mine - Write a letter, eat salmon and tell your friends...kinda sad really.
http://www.savebristolbay.org a little more organized but dose not seem to have a lot of support. Backed by Trout unlimited and a bunch of Bristol Bay companies...go figure. Its more up to date, its latest form letter addresses EPA-R10-OW-2017-0369.
There is an active petiton on Moveon.org https://petitions.moveon.org/sign/epa-administrator-jackson-2 but it is currently 600 signatures shy of its goal of 2000.
Stand For Salmon (https://www.facebook.com/standforsalmon/) had their most recent petition flogged by the Lt. Gov, so its back to the drawing board for those folks. http://mustreadalaska.com/law-department-nixes-petition-salmon/
All in All its quiet on the northern front. There will be more opposition in the future for sure. Winters get cold here so a seething hatred for pebble creates much needed warmth.
Very different scenario bro.
Pebble is on state land set aside by the state for resource development.
The case you mentioned is on federal land with permits issued by US forest.
Fake News.
No polar bears in Bristol Bay.
No it's not, it was simply an op-ed to the ADN editor. Not news, it was/is an opinion.
Yes, I remember now. It seems like decades not months since RIO gave their shares to BBNC & ACF.
Repartnering implies someone from the past. I wonder, Anglo?, Mistu?
Interesting choice of words.
Since the beginning of the year 42 institutional positions have opened vs 11 that have closed.

I have a question:
If NAK failed to release findings from their feasibility studies, how dose one determine they are damning?
...curious.
And what does that have to do with the price of tea in China?
Phew, thanks, sold everything.
Thats great! Any idea who is manufacturing the set top boxes? Going to Beta implies they have the bits and pieces in place to make it work.
Logic dictates some entity has manufactured set tops ( a big piece, or bit). I have not heard ,or been able to dig up any info on the illusive set tops.
Anyone have any info on the all important set top box?
Jewelry retailers,,,that's rich. Thanks for laugh, a little dated but funny.
These are the cases filed in Alaska thus far (6). Most are dated, the most recent was filed in April this year.

Per your source, Gold is listed as a main commodity; A main commodity described by the USGS is a dominant element or commodity of real or potential\r economic value in the site.
...One could deduct (logically) that the gold mentioned is significant.
Not sure its supporting anything but here is a link to the quote. Read the introduction.

You seemed confused, this may help: http://www.northerndynastyminerals.com/ndm/Strategy.asp
To put things into perspective... 720 people in the Bristol Bay region (80% of 898 Bristol Bay residents, census 2016) are against the mine.
Bristol Bay Census area shows 898 residents 2016.
Dillingham Census area ,next door to Bristol Bay, has another 5k people.
Lake and Peninsula Borough, the borough Pebble is located in, has just under 1600 people.
The entire Region is vast, 53k square miles, with very few people. Think North Carolina with 7500 residents.
Thats old school...me too.
Has it ever been announced who the set top box manufacture is?
