In 2021, the Group has adhered to its development strategies of “Smart Home” and “driving development with leading technology”, engaging in prefabricated construction and continuously strengthening its production capacity layout to steadily increase its business scale and efficiency. Meanwhile, the Group accelerated its product and technological innovation and expanded its brand influence, achieving a steady growth in all core indicators. During the Year, the Group recorded sales revenue of HK$2,085 million, representing a year-on-year surge of 91.4%; while it recorded gross profit of HK$524 million, a year-on-year growth of 51.8%. Profit attribute to owners of the Company was HK$132 million. Specifically, revenue from PC components and self-developed patents, the Group’s core businesses, amounted to approximately HK$1,323 million, an increase of 44.5% compared with 2020. With the comprehensive coverage of the entire industry chain, the new businesses of smart landscaping and smart decoration achieved a revenue of approximately HK$552 million in the first year. The Board of Directors has recommended payment of a final dividend of HK$0.01 per share for the year ended 31 December 2021.
Business Review
Comprehensive coverage of the entire industry chain to achieve a double in contracted sales In 2021, the Group has deeply engaged in prefabricated construction, committed to technological innovation and the development of collaborative business model across the entire industry chain, and actively explored the businesses of smart landscaping and smart decoration, achieving a double in contracted sales. During the Year, the contracted sales soared approximately 119.0% to RMB4,669 million, in which the contracted sales of PC components amounted to RMB2,501 million, representing a year-on-year increase of approximately 74.4% while the new businesses of smart landscaping and smart decoration achieved contracted sales of approximately HK$2,168 million.
Deepen the business footprint in major areas and speed up the expansion of asset-light model During the Year, the Group continued to deepen its PC business layout, especially in Yangtze River Delta and Greater Bay Area, with the Greater Bay Area leading the market in terms of market share, laying the foundation for the Group’s business orders. As of 31 December 2021, the Group has 19 self-operated smart PC plants in operation, with a design capacity of 1.16 million square meters; while the overall capacity utilization rate of production capacity is about 47%. Besides, the Group accelerated the expansion of its PC components business by means of franchise, joint venture and asset-light model. During the year, the Group successfully signed with a rental factory, an asset-light factory and four franchise factories, and continued to improve its layout of production capacity across China.
Strategic cooperation to explore new business growth
The Group won the bid in the category of PC component in the 11th Joint Procurement of CURA in June 2021 which provided the Group with the opportunity to speed up project signing and implementation in the businesses of prefabricated construction services and PC components supply. The Group also signed strategic cooperation agreements with a number of institutions during the Year, including the Eastern China branch of The Fifth Bureau of China State Construction Engineering Corporation, the 23rd Metallurgical Construction Group Co., Ltd of Minmetals, Shanxi Interior Decoration Association and Shanxi Jinduofu Real Estate Co. Ltd, to further expand the network of major clients and drive the soaring of the annual contracted sales. In addition, the Group set up a joint venture company with Dongzhu Ecological at the end of September 2021, namely, Henan Dongzhu Drawin Ecological Environment Protection Co., Ltd, to accelerate the development of smart landscaping business.
Bring in Glodon as a strategic shareholder, stepping into the digitalization in PC industry.
In August 2021, the Group signed a share subscription agreement with Glodon Company Limited (“Glodon”) and completed the share subscription in November. Glodon subscribed for 300 million subscription shares, accounting for 9.67% of the issued share capital of the Group, through its subsidiaries. Net proceeds from the transaction was approximately HK$288 million, of which HK$90 million will be applied for the development of SaaS software in the prefabricated construction industry while the remaining amount will be used in working capital and the operation of PC plants. Strengthen R&D to accelerate digital transformation
As of 31 December 2021, the Group has a total of 1,908 self-developed patents, ranking first in the industry. In April, the Group’s “Flexible manufacturing technology and demonstration of complex-shaped concrete parts and components based on a standard production line transformation”, one of the key R&D programs in the national 13th Five-Year, was accepted by a panel of experts and assessed to reach the international advanced level. The PC components produced by this production line have been widely applied in prefabricated construction projects in areas such as Zhengzhou, Jiaozuo and Luoyang. In July, the Group set up a national post-doctoral research station to recruit and train technological talents. In December, the Group’s self-developed “Application of DIT Group Double-cycle Prefabricated Concrete Component Production Line in Jiaozuo Factory of Drawin Group” was successfully selected as the first batch of typical cases of innovative services for new technologies and products of intelligent construction by the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development.
Prospects and Development Strategy
The year 2021 coincides with the first year of the “14th Five-Year Plan”. In December, the Central Economic Work Conference proposed to “promote the construction of affordable housing and support the commercial housing market to better meet the reasonable housing needs of home buyers”, insisting on high-quality development and seeking progress while maintaining stability. The role of the construction industry as a pillar industry of the national economy has been continuously enhanced. Besides, under the strategic guidance of “dual carbon goals” and “construction industrialization”, China is driving the green transformation and high-quality development of the construction industry with policies. The “14th Five-Year Plan” for Development of Building Industry once again clearly emphasized that by 2025, the proportion of prefabricated buildings in new buildings will reach more than 30%. As an important solution for energy conservation and carbon reduction in the construction industry, the green building method, mainly prefabricated construction, will usher in significant development opportunities and bring huge growth potential to the Group.
The digital intelligence of prefabricated construction has become a new track in the building industry during the “14th Five-Year Plan” period. In the future, the Group’s R&D focus will shift from technology to product. Through the R&D of products based on the two major structural systems in terms of construction period, cost and quality, the Group will aim to reduce costs and increase efficiency, and take advantages of its entire industry chain to create competitive core products. Happy Monday and happy first full week in April!
This diary entry marks 2 months of the start of being the marketing intern at Artificial Solutions, so this is a small celebratory entry to mark this small milestone in my professional career!
This entry also marks the end of my final university exams! I honestly can’t believe that it is happening, and that I don’t have to keep studying for tests anymore? It all seems very surreal, and I haven’t really gotten to internalize it, yet. But right now, I’m just very excited about the end of the crazy period of my life of juggling classes alongside my internship!
It has definitely been a challenge to keep up with all the different responsibilities that I had, but I’m happy that I took the leap into doing an internship alongside my studies, so that I could get an insight into working in marketing before finishing up my degree and starting to look into the path that I want to keep following.
It was a learning curve at the beginning, especially because of everything that was going on in the company at the time, meeting-wise and strategy-wise, and especially in an industry that I had no knowledge about before (you can hear about that in my previous intern diary entry!), and a lot of the technical terms and buzzwords were brand new to me, so it was a lot of learning on the fly.
I’m thankful the team has been so understanding of the conflict of schedules and of responsibilities that I had, so I think if you’re also planning on doing an internship alongside your studies you definitely have to look for an opportunity that offers a certain level of flexibility, because I know of many that struggled a lot more because they didn’t get to go to classes or had to skip important lessons due to job responsibilities that they couldn’t get out of. I think flexibility is key to be able to make the double commitment work during a stressful period like exams, which are very time consuming.
Given that my life has been very, very busy this past week, I haven’t had many strict deadlines to meet (thank you, team!) but I’ve been planning ahead on some different future projects and we’re getting a new team member this week, I’m very excited to meet Marina, Demand Growth Specialist, and I will tell you all about our team adventures that happen this week in the next entry!
I’m glad I can dedicate 110% of my effort on being an intern now, though, because I only have my dissertation left, and can finally work full time, instead of running all around Barcelona trying to get from one place to the other!

Thank you and good morning to everyone. Gerry McClinton is under the weather and will not be in attendance today. To avoid rescheduling, I will be reading his financial report verbatim as presented. Following this presentation of the year end results, I will be expanding upon our adapted planning, ongoing execution of the connected services campaign and what lies ahead for us in ‘22. On that note, I will now present Gerry’s report.
In discussing our 2021 financial performance, it is always a good practice which we encourage for shareholders to review the filed Form 10-K. As operational activity was minimal over the course of 2021 and focused on final product development and completion as opposed to revenue occurrence, today’s financial presentation will be condensed.
I would first like to acknowledge our employees for their continuing commitment to the company’s stated goals during another very difficult year. Capstone Associates faced many operational obstacles, most beyond their control, resulting from the continuing global impact of COVID-19. We started 2021 with a positive economic outlook, particularly with the introduction of vaccine programs throughout the world and the anticipated launch of the Smart Mirror program. While the company announced a plan to launch its e-commerce initiative in March of 2021 that effort was continually delayed due to the global COVID-19 resurgence, which forced factory shutdowns, testing lab and ocean port closure overseas.
As a result, inventories planned to support Q3 2021 e-commerce business were not shipped until December of 2021. These substantial logistic delays impacted many operational areas specifically from securing product components, product testing, certification, manufacturing and ocean freight. The certification process delays with the FCC had the biggest impact in delaying the 2021 launch. These unexpected delays and transition into Thailand OEMs with a new product essentially delayed our launch of the Smart Mirror program an entire year.
The company also experienced limitations in employee resources resulting from travel restrictions and stay-at-home orders due to precautions related to the COVID-19 pandemic and its waves of variants of the virus. Despite these restrictions, the company staff continued to manage the overseas supply chain requirements for the Smart Mirror products. The launch delay combined with declining LED product sales adversely impacted the company’s business and financial performance. In addition to the delayed shipments from Thailand, the initial inventory, which was aired in December, was not only delayed, but the carrier lost parts of the shipment and the inventory was damaged by the logistics company. The limitations on available inventories would further restrict our e-commerce activity into Q1 2022.
With the reduced operational activity resulting from the stated delays, management focused on priorities that would be critical when we launched our e-commerce business, specifically to expedite the transition of the company’s marketing presence to online retail with Amazon and Wayfair, to expand the company’s social media platforms and online visibility, to revamp the company’s website to support online business, to build the logistics and fulfillment structure to support online orders, and to design and expand the connected surfaces product portfolio. These priorities were accomplished so that we would be ready for the 2022 launch.
So, now let’s review the 2021 financials.
For the year ended December 31, 2021, net revenues were approximately $686,000, a decrease of approximately $2 million from $2.8 million in fiscal 2020. The decrease in 2021 net revenue was a direct result of the delay in launching the company’s Smart Mirror program. International sales in 2021 were approximately $34,000 as compared to $700,000 in 2020. Gross profit for the year ended December 31, 2021 was approximately $47,000 or 6.9% of net revenues as compared to $504,000 or 18.2% of net revenues for fiscal 2020.
For the years ended December 31, 2021 and 2020, cost of sales was approximately $639,000 and $2.3 million respectively, a decrease of $1.6 million. The reduction was the direct result of the reduced revenue in the year. Costs represented 93% and 81.8% of net revenues for 2021 and 2020 respectively. This increased cost was substantially due to the higher ocean freight logistics costs to the U.S. associated with the shortage of containers and vessels arriving from overseas. The decline in our revenue and earnings during the year ended December 31, 2021 resulted in a need for goodwill impairment assessments for each quarter in 2021, but there were no impairment charges required based on our assessment.
Total operating expenses. For the years ended December 31, 2021 and 2020, total operating expenses were $2.4 million and $3.6 million respectively. This represents a $1.2 million or 33% decrease over fiscal year 2020. With the reduced revenue earlier in the year, management had initiated cost mitigation plans to reduce discretionary expenses where possible, defer executive salary and eliminated some positions overseas. These expense reductions resonated throughout the company.
Selling and marketing expenses were reduced by $271,000, compensation expense by $240,000. Professional fees reduced by $55,000. General admin also was reduced by $56,000 and with no goodwill impairment charge in 2021 as compared to $624,000 in fiscal year 2020, this resulted in the $1.2 million expense reduction. The company also continued to invest during the year.
Product development expenses in 2021 and 2020 were $309,000 and $250,000 respectively, an increase of $59,000 or 23.6% over 2020. In 2021, the company invested $237,000 in the Smart Mirror development compared to $182,000 in 2020, an increase of $55,000 or 30.2%. In 2021, Smart Mirror FCC and ETL and other certification fees of approximately $98,000 were incurred as compared to $0 in 2020. Other expenses such as prototype sample courier charges were increased by approximately $51,000 from $7,000 in 2020 to $58,000 in 2021. We continue to invest in new product design, software development, product prototyping and testing related to the Smart Mirror project.
Operating loss. For the year ended December 31, 2021, the operating loss was approximately $2.4 million as compared to $3.1 million in 2020. Despite the reduced revenue with the expense mitigation plan, we are able to reduce the loss from 2020 by $730,000 and continue to invest in the Smart Mirror program and building the e-commerce infrastructure.
Other income. For fiscal 2021, other income was approximately $456,000 compared to $90,000 in 2020, an increase of $366,000 over 2020. The other income for the year ended December 31, 2021 resulted from the reversal of approximately $340,000 of accrued marketing and promotional allowances against previous sales that is no longer required as of December 31, 2021. Marketing allowances include the cost of underwriting an in-store instant rebate coupon or a targeted markdown allowance on specific products. The company accrues and retains these allowances for a period of 3 to 5 years. In the event, the customer charge back a promotional allowance against future open invoices or submits to us an invoice. These allowances are evaluated when we see selling a specific product to a customer.
We evaluate certain allowances and we are satisfied that these allowances are no longer required based on the age of the allowance and sale of the products for which these allowances relate being significantly reduced. During the year, the company incurred $49,000 of interest expenses compared to zero in 2020 resulting from shareholder loans. For the year ended December 31, 2021, the net expense or income tax was estimated at $15,000 compared to a net benefit of $612,000 in the same period 2020. The benefit in 2020 was a result of the CARES Act, which eliminated the taxable income limit for certain net operating losses and allow businesses to carry back net operating losses arising in 2018, ‘19 and ‘20 to five prior tax years. The company was able to carry back the 2018 and 2019 NOLs to 2017 tax year and generate estimated refund of previously paid income taxes.
Net loss. For fiscal 2020 and – I am sorry for fiscal 2021 and 2020, net loss were approximately $2 million and $2.4 million respectively, a net loss decrease of approximately $420,000 over the previous year.
Liquidity and capital resources. Operational cash flow is significantly influenced by the timing and launch of new products as well as favorable payment terms negotiated with overseas suppliers. With our overseas operational presence, we have built a structure that through relationships with factory suppliers both in Thailand and China, combined with our expertise that under normal operating circumstances can develop and release quality innovative products to the marketplace substantially quicker than in previous years.
In 2021, the operational delays and reduced revenue resulting from COVID-19 hampered our ability to increase operational cash flow. Our ability to generate cash from operations has been one of our historic fundamental strengths and has provided us with flexibility in meeting our operating financing and investing needs in the past without incurring any outsider debt. During the year ended December 31, 2021, the company used cash and operations of approximately $2.4 million, which includes a net operating loss of $1.96 million.
As of December 31, 2021, the company had working capital of approximately $1.9 million and an accumulated deficit of $6.4 million. The company’s cash balance increased by approximately $54,000 from $1.22 million as of December 31, 2020 to $1.27 million as of December 31, 2021. On April 5, 2021, the company entered into five separate securities purchase agreements, whereby the company privately placed an aggregate of 2.5 million shares of common stock for an aggregate purchase price of $1.5 million. The proceeds from the private placement were used mostly to purchase startup inventory for the company’s new Smart Mirror product line and the remainder for advertising and working capital.
On July 2, 2021, the Board of Directors resolved that the company required a purchase order funding facility to procure additional inventory to support the online Smart Mirror business. The Board resolved that certain directors would negotiate the terms of a purchase order funding agreement for up to $1,020,000 with directors, myself and Jeff Postal and E. Fleisig, a natural person. This agreement has finalized and the company received the $1,020,000 funding under this agreement on October 18, 2021. As of December 31, 2021, the company had an outstanding note payable due to related parties on the purchase order funding agreement of $1,030,340, which includes accrued interest of $10,340. The company has an income tax refund pending as of December 31, 2021 of approximately $285,000, which we expect to receive in 2022.
As of December 31, 2021, the company’s working capital was approximately $2 million, of which $1.2 million was cash. Current liabilities were $609,000 and that includes December 31, 2021, the company had $1.03 million of long-term debt outstanding resulting from the PL Funding agreement and had no encumbrances on the assets of the company. This concludes the financial summary as presented by Gerry Clinton for 2021. And I will now transition to my presentation.
Once again, good morning and thank you for today’s participation. While we have experienced much volatility in our share price over the past year, this is not an accurate indication of your management’s achievements in 2021. As longtime shareholders know, we are a disciplined seasoned team of professionals that are committed to following solid business strategies and adapting to uncertainties when presented. We have experienced numerous false starts over the dynamic period, which causes our expectations or results to vary. We planned to launch our Connected Surfaces Smart Mirror campaign in Q2 of 2021 with expected sales to commence in Q3.
Early in ‘21 because of the pandemic, our factories had ongoing shutdowns resulting in continual rescheduling, but the greatest setback was the FCC approvals we required to export our program. As I have shared in previous presentations, this process was not new to us as we have had decades of products submitted for approvals in very much the same way. The process was stated to take approximately 5 weeks allowing us to initiate production and start shipping early July for a Q3 market launch. This was not the case. And regardless of our exhaustive efforts, we did not receive the approvals until this past November.
We immediately initiated the production and attempted to expedite via air to our U.S. fulfillment center. This was a costly decision, but one that I have personally committed to earlier in 2021. To exacerbate the delays and setbacks while we fortunately received inventory earmarked for the CES exhibition, the following aired inventories were entirely mismanaged by our carrier and it took approximately 6 more weeks for the shipment to be completed. At the same time, approximately half of the inventory was damaged in transit. The entire air shipment was a failed effort and very costly. The purpose of emphasizing this information is to make you fully aware that management never stopped moving forward in spite of these unforeseen setbacks.
Fast forward, the first container inventory shipped by sea vessel were scheduled to arrive in late January for Capstone Connected online fulfillment. Once again, the inventories were delayed and did not arrive at our fulfillment facility until the first week of March. It is important to note we could not initiate our e-com Amazon campaigns aggressively until we had inventory available to support the anticipated sales. These are the ground rules.
Our initial Capstone Connected online orders were filled with the limited damage free inventory shipped by the initial air shipment. So, we had little to celebrate in 2021. Other than our resilience, the cost mitigation efforts and insider financing support that allowed us to build an estimated $1.5 million of retail inventories. I raised this point as insiders, myself included, have always risen to meet the company’s needs even in the most difficult of times. The equity raise we did in April of 2021 was expected to be adequate to drive the plan through the year with the anticipation of retail sales starting in Q3. That did not occur due to the aforementioned FCC delays. And at the same time, to exacerbate matters further, cash was needed to be advanced to suppliers to procure inventories that were now in short supply, another unanticipated obstacle. We did not flinch and three insiders provided the necessary capital to continue with the plan. In summation, we fought like hell, put our money where our mouths were and survived the daily ongoing threats to the business.
Let’s look ahead. We cannot forget where we came from and why we chose to be in this business segment back in 2019. It seems the last 2 years have been a discussion of COVID-19 and the collateral damage we experienced as a company. Frankly, there is nothing more to say about these past 2 years other than we are still standing while many companies are not. We are also poised to meet the market needs with inventories on hand. And while the e-com business process is slower than anticipated, our digital marketing initiative is being adapted and improved daily. We recently e-mailed a polling survey to an estimated 8,000 participants from our database to gauge the buying motivations and what might be preventing the conversion from the cart to a sale. We have an estimated 500 website visitors that have placed the Mirror in their cart, but have not finalized the purchase. Our goal is to learn how to improve the conversion rate and take action accordingly.
Additionally, we are going to Phase 2 of our Connected Surfaces strategy and have initiated our talks with big box customers. On the product front, engineering is proceeding with the next Smart Connected product concept within the Connected Surfaces program. I will be able to expand further on this product in the weeks ahead as fine points in the development and manufacturing process are being defined. In addition, engineering is involved in an assessment to move production to Mexico for future growth and to hedge against the increasing logistical expense long-term. We know the reason we are all invested in Capstone Companies as it represents a huge untapped potential within the emerging category of smart home products. Household penetration within the United States is projected to be 20% totaling an estimated $140 billion in 2022. Smartphone ownership exceeds $270 million in the U.S. as the expansion of technology into our daily lives continues to rise.
Our Connected Surfaces strategy has positioned well to benefit from this growth, awareness and consumer investment. The worldwide population’s digital modern lifestyles are surrounded by smart devices and are experiencing increased use in daily activities. We believe the company will regain the market momentum loss this past year as sales traction builds. While I would like to be able to flood the cable channels with advertising to expand the awareness, we have much to learn from the digital marketing effort underway. We are often compared to companies like Tonal and the Mirror by our shareholders. But the comparison is only valid when gauging innovativeness. Consider that these businesses have huge financial support for their market launches and ongoing equity for growth. Literally, hundreds of millions of dollars have been invested in the product development and marketing initiatives of these companies.
Do I believe that our Connected Surfaces campaign has the potential of these other companies? I absolutely do. More than 110 million homes have fixed broadband subscriptions in the U.S. alone. 5G will allow for expanded device use without compromising performance and the smart home category is forecasted to generate as stated earlier an approximate $140 billion this year.
Additionally, our Connected Surfaces product portfolio will reach several areas of the smart home as we creatively integrate technology into other areas of the home through newer device ideas. For example, the market for smart kitchen appliance is a prime target in our Connected Surfaces strategy. The leading kitchen appliance brands are just beginning to educate and entice consumers with new smart concepts. Just as we did for many years in the LED category, we believe we will be a part of this expansive growth through our innovative approaches to affordable product designs and market approaches that are sensitive to today’s consumer paradigms. Companies that incorporate messaging and produce innovativeness that align with value-driven expectations and digital infused lifestyles will achieve acceptance by millennial and Gen Z consumers, which will continue to play a vital and growing role in the consumer markets. Do I believe that we have the potential? I absolutely do.
In closing, at the risk of sounding quixotic, as the largest shareholder of CAPC and reflecting on its recent volatility, I still believe holding on to our family’s chairs will prove to have been the right decision long-term. My expectations for this company are so great. And while I personally may have missed the opportunity to sell a few million dollars of stock early in 2021, I still believe that decision to be sound.

WIMI Holographic Academy, working in partnership with the Holographic Science Innovation Center, has written a new technical article describing their exploration of holographic AI vision technology.
Through the study of stereo vision principle, a panoramic splicing algorithm based on vertical edge processing is proposed. The matching of samples is highlighted by the main vertical edges to avoid local optimality, and a unified circular trajectory image sequence method is proposed to make the image acquisition more convenient. It rotates the fixed acceleration around the fixed center of the horizontal plane to take photos, and collect the light information of each point in the horizontal plane, with a three-dimensional effect.
With the development of computer graphics, real virtual environments can be established through traditional geometric methods. Typically, 3 D geometric models are created to describe features such as lighting and surface textures in a scene. Creating images of viewpoint observations by calculating the light intensity requires high computational power, and the resulting effects are difficult to reproduce the complex natural textures presented in the photographs. Recently, an image-based rendering technique was proposed, which has the rendering quality of real scenes, and the algorithm is only related to the image resolution. Scientists from WIMI Holographic Academy, the research institute of Nasdaq listed enterprise WIMI Hologram (NASDAQ: WIMI), discusses the significance of virtual scene based on image drawing technology, discusses the principle of stereo photography geometry, discusses the three-dimensional full light function construct virtual scene method, in order to reduce the traditional method in the corresponding point matching the local optimal.
1. The photographic geometry principle of stereopsis
Virtual reality technology is a hot spot in the field of science and technology at home and abroad in recent years, involving computer graphics, dynamics and artificial intelligence. With the development of related disciplines, virtual reality technology has developed rapidly and is applied in the fields of aerospace, medical rehabilitation, construction and manufacturing. With the help of computers, virtual reality technology realizes the virtual illusion that people feel through audio-visual means. Virtual reality technology is both immersive and interactive. It uses timely simulation of advanced user interface using various information channels. Humans receive 80% of the total information received through visual perception. Building virtual reality is an important part of virtual reality, and it has been widely used in many fields.
1. 1 Imaging geometry principles
Virtual reality technology requires users to be strongly immersed in the virtual environment. Building virtual scenes is a way for users to experience real visual effects. Imaging systems typically convert 3-D scenes into 2-D grayscale images. Perspective projection is a commonly used imaging model. It is characterized by the light of the scene passing through the projection center, and the straight line perpendicular to the image plane is the projection axis. Orthogonal projection is a special case of perspective projection that uses light parallel to the optical axis to project a scene onto the image plane. Obtaining the distance between each point and the camera is an important task of the visual system. Each pixel value in the depth plot represents the distance between a point in the scene and the camera. Passive range sensors are the light energy emitted by the visual system. Based on the depth information of the image recovery scene, the depth information can be estimated indirectly by using the shadow features and motion features of the grayscale images. Radar ranging systems and triangular ranging systems are common active ranging sensor systems. Active vision mainly studies the combination of vision and behavior to obtain stable perception through active control of the camera position and aperture parameters.
1. 2 Principles of stereoscopic imaging
Finding the conjugate pairs with the actual stereo image pair is the most difficult step in stereo vision, and many constraints are established in order to reduce the corresponding point mismatch. The traditional feature point search selects feature points on one image, with a feature point located on the pole line corresponding to another image. If the distance between the known target and the camera is within a certain interval, the search range can be limited to a small interval of computer image scene construction based on virtual reality technology, which can greatly reduce the search space for finding the corresponding points and reduce the number of mismatch points. The matching point may not appear exactly on the corresponding pole line in the image plane. Stereo vision usually consists of more than two video cameras. The light intensity of the corresponding point in the scene varies greatly, and the image needs to be normalized before matching. Each feature point of an image can only correspond to a unique point of the other image. The projections of each point on the object surface in the image are continuous, and the continuous constraints on the object boundary do not hold.
1. 3 Regional Correlations
Edge features usually correspond to the boundaries of the object. The depth value of the boundary can be any value between the depth distance of the object closed edge. The edges of the contour image observed on the two image planes do not correspond to the edges of the object, and the edges of the image plane can only be detected along the closed edges. The fundamental problem of recovery depth is to identify more feature points distributed in the image. The matching points in the two images should be identified as easily as possible. Interested operators should look for areas with large variation in the image. It can be chosen where the interest metric function has a local maximum. After identifying the features in these two images, many different methods can be used for matching. Only the points that satisfy the pole line constraints can be the matching points.
2. Virtual scene construction method of all-light function
IBR (image-based rendering) technology has changed the understanding of traditional computer graphics. The IBR technique for constructing a virtual environment is based on functional theory. The panoramic method of constructing virtual scenes breaks through the matching characteristics of image samples. The virtual scene construction method of uniform circular trajectory image sequence is a 3 D complete function. It can produce horizontal stereo visual effect, and is easy to obtain, the rendering process is independent of internal parameters such as camera focal length, has high operating efficiency.
2. 1 Full-light function
The all-light function (Plenoptic Function) describes all the information seen from any point in space, describes the environmental mapping geometry that may occur in a given scene, constructs a continuous all-light function from some directed discrete samples, and draws a new view through the resampling function. The scene can be constructed in any way by collecting incident light at any viewpoint, and the image is also the information that passes through a specific point in space at a specific time. Five-dimensional all-optical functions are difficult to capture. The dimensionality of the full-optical function can continue to decrease. The all-optical function is a continuous function reconstructed from the spatially sampled optical information under Nyquist's law. The function is sampled according to the viewpoint parameters to obtain the image observed through the viewpoint.
2. 2 Virtual scene construction method of all-light function
The 2-dimensional panorama is fixed. The all-light function reduced to two dimensions is a fixed viewpoint and only collects information about fixed light spots in space. In the reconstructed virtual scene, the viewpoint cannot be moved, and no parallax produces a stereoscopic sense. Panorama views can be easily obtained if panoramic cameras are used. Photos taken in different directions can be sewn into panoramas with a normal camera. The main process of constructing a virtual scene is stitching together a panorama. Panorama reflecting a particular scene can be obtained by seamlessly stitching images with overlapping boundaries collected by the camera, such as stitching straight lines into dashed lines.
Current image stitching algorithms generally adopt stitching algorithms and suture algorithms. Matching is performed by searching for a local communication. The sampling sequence acquisition process of splicing panoramic images is to fix the center of light at a fixed center and take photos at a certain angle to rotate in a fixed plane. It can consider a translational relationship between adjacent image samples in the same image space. The vertical edge of the image becomes an important feature in the matching. Based on the vertical edge processing method, the image sample using the image difference method is usually rich in detail. Digital image capture is not exactly the same due to the random noise. Edges in a detail texture often introduce other errors during the processing. Smoothing image samples are sharpened by vertical edges, and image sample convolutional gradient operator methods are used to highlight sharpened edge features without causing the edges to be widened, thus introducing errors.
2. 3 Virtual scene construction method of uniform circular track image sequence
Flat function and 2-dimensional panorama do not provide stereoscopic vision. An appropriate form of a pure function should be found to create a virtual scene. A person can still feel intense stereopsis when he moves horizontally with no parallax in the direction. The image virtual scene construction method based on the image sequence of uniform circular trajectory is to place the camera near the rotation center O and use the captured image sequence as input. By processing the obtained image sequence, the observed images can be obtained from different viewpoints within a certain range of the horizontal plane, and the acquisition of the image sequence is relatively simple.
2. 4 Depth of field calculation
The virtual scenario construction allows the user to move within a certain range. Conventional depth calculation methods first use two calibrated pinhole cameras to capture images of the same object at different locations. To calculate the 3 D position of each point in the first image, it is best to search the match in the second image. A lot of work has been done in deep computing. The multi-baseline stereo imaging algorithm eliminates the effects of noise through multiple images and outperforms the conventional correlation algorithms. Each feature point of an image can only correspond to the unique feature point of the image. Since most feature points are not very obvious, corresponding ambiguities usually arise. One point can be a true counterpart, and the other point is a false counterpart. Multibaseline stereoimaging is an effective way to eliminate blur of the corresponding points. In practice, it is no need to calculate the depth of each image in the input image sequence, and the depth information of all field attractions can be obtained by calculating the depth of a panorama.
3. Virtual scene construction experiment
Using the sharpening image method to highlight the matching features of samples, in most cases, the automatic splicing of panoramic images can be completed, effectively avoiding the latter search process into local limitations, and the splicing results are basically seamless. The minimum similarity distance method is insensitive to image brightness changes and has certain noise resistance. The experiments were carried out in a computer simulation environment. The simulated environment is a synthetic indoor scene that includes geometric objects like tables and cylinders placed in the room. The method of constructing virtual scene by using uniform circular track image sequence produces stereo visual effect and realizes the experiment of obtaining depth information of virtual scene. Videos were shot evenly around the horizontal circle to obtain the desired image sequence. When the viewpoint parameters change, the view of the new viewpoint is redrawn according to the principle of the image sequence of uniform circular trajectories. When the viewpoint varies within a predetermined range, the correspondence between the image sequence corresponding to the viewpoint is calculated. When the drawing light is not at the sampling point, it is replaced with adjacent points. The simulated environment is an indoor scene where the vertical depth approximation can be used to reduce vertical deformation. Assuming that the depth of the scene is a constant, the vertical distortion decreases, and the width of the image decreases to different degrees. The relative depth changes due to the viewpoint changes, and the information is no longer acquired in the vertical direction. The depth of the field attraction is not actually a s-constant, and the observed deformation is the assumed difference between depth and design.
The method is less computationally efficient and draws new viewpoints with a uniform circular trajectory image sequence when the field of view is less accurate. The depth estimation of image sequences constitutes virtual scenes using a multi-baseline stereo imaging algorithm, first stitching the same sequence of each frame into panoramic images. Each panorama size is 300,240. Cut the 320,240 images from a column L=160 patchwork panorama. Set the window size used to calculate the SSSD function to 9x9. Searching against the parallax variation in the stitched panoramic columns from the longest baseline L=260, and calculating the corresponding depth values, we calculated the SSD for each baseline. The purpose of the search is to find the SSSD minimum depth value. The search ranges from parallax d=0 to the direction of the pixels in the panorama and in the same direction as the reference point in the reference image search. Adjusting the vertical changes with the estimated depth of field works best, but should be based on the estimated depth of field. If the view drawing of the scene and viewpoint is required to be in real time and the image quality is faster.
4. Conclusion
Overall, the construction technique based on image virtual scene, which is based on all-optical function theory. According to Nyquist's law, the paper uses the continuous all-optical function in space. When the viewpoint parameters change, sampling is based on the viewpoint parameters. First, the geometric theory of visual photography for constructing virtual scenes is discussed. Then, the full-light function of the panoramic image is studied, and the vertical edge processing splicing algorithm is proposed. Finally, the estimation method of depth of field information is studied.

Happy Monday!
Andrea, the Artificial Solutions marketing intern, is proud to say I’m still out here kicking!
I made it through week one of two of finals, we’ll see how this one goes. I confess that my room right now is a mess of papers thrown around everywhere, meticulously divided into different sections to determine what I have gone over and what I haven’t, and I can happily say that the “studied” pile is finally larger than the “to study” pile! Finally!
I have a small confession to make this week, actually.
And that is that when I first started looking into Artificial Solutions for this job, I had no idea what Conversational AI was.
I know! How dare I! But honestly, I had been highly disconnected from the world of Artificial Intelligence throughout my life, with most of these big emerging technologies being too fleeting or too abstract for me to take the time to truly understand them.
The world of Conversational AI is one that I never saw myself going into or learning about, but now I can’t stop looking at the small chatbots that are available in almost any website, and I have realized what a widespread and important technology it has become.

just like anyone else, just arguing with a chatbot that absolutely refuses to understand whatever it is that you’re trying to say, fully ignoring the point, and just resending the same useless message. I guess I had grown slightly resentful of both chatbots and voice bots who would be in conversation with me when I was trying to fix an issue.
