What are talking about? I'm reading the IKF is your new fielder. Put me in coach.....

Diaz down. This would be beyond brutal for the Mets and their fans.
Probably too busy selling shares.
Peanut League meatballs, more like it!
Well you can see what "positive indicators" did for the price and volume today. At least last time this ran to the mid/high teens on "positive indicators".
It's definitely time for substance now.
What do you find more likely: Stanton in the line up for 140 games or Hicks joining the 30/30 club?
This isn't news. OWPC has been promising similar production and partnerships for a long time now. The only news here is that they've hired an IR firm to spruik the promises.
Easy fix: just add a column for "ties" to the win/loss standings. Solves the extra innings/ghost runner/long game issues too!
Just a writer paying his mortgage. All the yanks/Ohtani stories are done. For now.
Look, what the Brewers did with Hader was criminal. No question about it. But you rich franchaises crowing about a minimum payroll?? That's beyond hilarious. Let's just go the whole hog and share all revenue like the NFL. Think your convict Cohen would sign off on that idea?
I'll ask again: Do you think 72-90 is going to put more fans in the seats that 59-103? Why, therefore, would the Cincinnati Reds have the slightest motivation to sign Luis Castillo to a multi-year contract worth north of $200 million? And why would they agree to a minimum payroll? Just to continue playing cannon fodder for owners like yours?
Baseball indeed has a big problem with parity, both on and off the field. And it's only getting worse. With every CBA, the real issues get kicked down the road and the MLB product is further eroded. But the thought that small market clubs not spending enough is the problem???? Really???
These small market teams are the true problem in baseball in my opinion.
Spoken like a fan who has a corrupt and shady owner with unlimited cash to burn. Mets were no small market team when Wilpon signed the checks. You go off on small market teams, but until there's NFL style parity in revenue sharing, MLB is going keep heading down the path of 5-6 superteams, 1 or 2 upside surprises, and a lot of garbage. Why would a small market team that really sucks and is going nowhere pay even a single superstar market wages? What's in it for them? Do you find some nobility in finishing the season 75-87 vs 57-105? Either way, the fans aren't going to come to the park.
You're suggesting a mandate on minimum payroll spending for each team, but how do propose to derive that amount and then enforce it......good luck with that.
Terrible. Used to be some magic in Milwaukee: great fan support, team comraderie and a scrappy/underdog mentality which doesn't show up in WAR stats. Looks like it's all going down the toilet now. The Hader trade was a clear sign that winning is a distant 2nd or 3rd on management's priority list. Eric Lauer was pretty vocal after that debacle.
Burnes is right about things that don't need to be said....Guess the only silver lining is that he's not on the Yanks. Who knows what trash Cashman might have talked?
This feels like a clear tear down year in Milwaukee. Burnes, Adames, Woodruff, Williams...they could all be gone in July if the team stumbles. Hell, even if they dont stumble....They were 4 games ahead of the Cards when they traded Hader.
You're preaching to the choir. Management has a lot to answer for in Milwaukee. But management is only answering to ownership, which I have to believe is one reason Stearns hit the road.
Did the Brewers arbitration case actually cite Burnes as a reason they missed the playoffs?? That beggars belief.
"We don’t get paid for overtime," Sabathia said during a Tuesday appearance on the WFAN "Tiki and Tierney" program, as shared by Ryan Chichester of Audacy. "Let’s get this game over with.
Ah, the romance of the national past time. Let's play 2. Innings.
A guy who banked $260 million in his career complains about a bit of "overtime" and we wonder what's wrong with the game........
I sure would love to know what these investors were sold on buying over $1,000,000 worth of shares at $.15 in October. Whatever it was, we sure seem to be left in the dark.
1. The assurance of a fully operational processing facility in 2022
2. The tease of a meaningful partnership with Stellantis or another big player
3. Zeke's skin in the game
4. The dangling of the hope of carbon credits by the zillions
For me, selling here makes no sense. Yes, there's a massive share amount to churn through, and with OWPC generating no interest, PPS erosion has been the main feature of this company. Let's hope OWPC is letting the share price slide until the seller dries up, but at this point, it's all conjecture.
One decent PR of significance is all it would take for this to jump past .20
Here's how you let your ace pitcher know he won't be figurin' in the team's long term plans:
ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. -- Two-time All-Star Corbin Burnes and the Milwaukee Brewers went to salary arbitration on Tuesday with the sides $740,000 apart.
You just like the rule because the Shake Shack stops serving after the 8th!!
I hope the next news has more teeth than Emergent Health, EMGE, which makes OWPC look like IBM. Was hoping to see something better than 2 losers clinging to a wet log; hell, I'd even settle for Isaiah pumping out the price with Champagne talk again at this point.
Let's hope so.... because the other options about why we haven't heard any news about the processing plant are pretty bleak....
Let's just start with baby steps and get the friggin' processing plant up and running. While I like Zeke's spiel about the right product in the right location, and what he's accomplished with the champagne biz, Columbia isn't France.
Yanks have been sniffing around Oct ball for many seasons in a row now without a title or a pennant. If you're the Brewers or the Rays, that's enough. Maybe that's true for the Yanks now too. I can't see them taking another step deeper in the playoffs this year- in that division, it's quite easy to see the Yanks finishing 3rd. The Rays should have their pitching staff healthy and in order. And the Jays are stacked.
Yanks had their chance to roll Cashman out the door this offseason, but just like Hicks and Donaldson, they've instead opted to lock in a sketchy veteran to a long term, bloated contract.
Can't think of too many MLB execs who have been so hugely rewarded for making so many boneheaded moves.
Nice work if you can get it!
I think not signing Benintendi to a contract like what the White Sox gave him was one of Cashman's better moves this off season. Not to mention that Cashman has found his man, Hicks:
"I suspect he will be the guy that emerges, because he's still really talented and everything's there."
Quite a story. Thanks for posting.
Ha! Plenty of time left to stoke that rumour. And not much else to write about between now and the start of spring training.
Yanks better hope Ohtani doesn't remember the treatment King George gave Hideki Irabu (rip).
BOIL
I bit. 1K shares at $9.15 last week. What goes down......must....reverse split?
Kent is yet another example of why players, managers and even clubhouse attendants should have a heavier hand in the HOF voting than writers. Kent's omission might not be as egregious as Albert Belle or Jim Rice, but the story is the same: a handful of people who have never played MLB or been involved in an MLB clubhouse in any meaningful way wield the power to slam the door on someone who refused to lick their two-tone loafers. Pathetic.
Nice synopsis of the bombers. They do get DJ back, so there's a ray of hope there. And really, Hicks and Donaldson can only tick up in stats compared to last year. (dark humor).
I don't think Benintendi is the answer, so letting another team overpay him....I have no problem with that choice.
IMO it's all about the kids. It's a bit farcical to read about how loaded the Yankees farm system is and not get to see the talent on the field. Last year, rookies and youngsters played a huge role on most playoff teams. The yanks trotted out some youth when required by injury, but in the playoffs, the desperate line up shuffle was the antithesis of the stability and consistency which helps a team relax and play their best baseball.
Cashman has a real issue with sitting down with younger players and taking the pressure off of them by letting them know "you're pencilled in every day." IMO that's what needs to happen in the Bronx.
“It was surprising at first [that he missed the workout], a little shocking, but after the shock wore off, when you add everything up, it’s not surprising,” Cashman said. “There’s some questions about whether he’s been in all-in or not for a little while. He’s maintained verbally that he’s in, but at times, actions don’t match those words.”
All teams have internal issues, which in a professional clubhouse, are kept internal. When there are knucklehead statements, they usually come from the player side. GM's are more more polished and versed in how to speak to the press. Your GM sometimes chooses to "support" his team by airing out player disputes in public, always to the detriment of the player in question. That's the only point I'm making. In Chapman's case, slamming the dude is shooting fish in a barrel, but Judge and Jeter? Guess we'll just forget about that.....
No doubt he had a bad year, but if I recall the events of last season, there was a sweet CASHman set up involving the timing of Chapman not showing up to practice vs the claim that Chapman hadn't been told he was getting axed for the post season roster.
No doubt Chapman that dumping Chapman from the post season was the right move, but the clear implication by Yanks management was that Chapman"s decision to skip the team's training session led directly to that decision. I simply make the point that the Yanks fabricated a story that didn't hold true, giving them the chance to smear a guy that had no connection to their future.
"Wow"???!!!! Just check in with Jeter and Judge for a bit of a reminder of how the Yanks GM can treat people who might just show him up a tad when there's a disagreement.
Chapman to the Royals for a year... 3.75 million. Talk about a hard landing! I thought a contender might look past Cashman's deliberate destruction of the man's character and take a shot at Chapman.
Is Chapman really THAT horrible in the clubhouse?
Maybe toss Hicks in...really sweeten it up.
I love the 2nd bi-line in the article:
Is Luis Arraez Even Available?
Amazing what the Yankee parasite press pool has to concoct in the offseason to pay their mortgages! Still a couple of weeks to go before catchers and pitchers report. I'll be very disappointed in there isn't at least three (3) articles written in the next few weeks with the words "yankees" and "Ohtani" appearing in the same sentence!
Can't believe the Sox didn't wait til opening day to perform the surgery. Unreal.....
Story was a horrible signing. Not that I like to see a guy get injured, but you didn't actually "lose" Bogaey....just too cheap to close the deal last season, which for a team like the Red Sox, is unforgiveable.
It's pretty clear that Story was Plan A all along. Well, good luck with Arroyo at SS....or maybe Henry could splurge for the $825,000 it'll take to bring back Jose Iglesias.
Gonna be a lonnnnnng year in Beantown. Once Devers is pitched around, what's left worth watching in that line up?
Brewers showing the depth of their commitment to winning with a contract to.....Wade Miley.....Sigh.
That's a start. Had to re-sign him, and given his age, it's a pretty good deal when you stack it up against Trea Turner's and even Humphrey's.
Cheap. Dom has a sweet swing and should be more productive in the ultimate no-expectation s environment.
Definitely time for the Brewers and other small market teams to lowball veterans and trade for washed up comeback players whose salaries will be paid by others.
Sox have really messed up their roster in the offseason, but let's not sell Cashman short here!
