Look, what the Brewers did with Hader was criminal. No question about it. But you rich franchaises crowing about a minimum payroll?? That's beyond hilarious. Let's just go the whole hog and share all revenue like the NFL. Think your convict Cohen would sign off on that idea?

I'll ask again: Do you think 72-90 is going to put more fans in the seats that 59-103? Why, therefore, would the Cincinnati Reds have the slightest motivation to sign Luis Castillo to a multi-year contract worth north of $200 million? And why would they agree to a minimum payroll? Just to continue playing cannon fodder for owners like yours?

Baseball indeed has a big problem with parity, both on and off the field. And it's only getting worse. With every CBA, the real issues get kicked down the road and the MLB product is further eroded. But the thought that small market clubs not spending enough is the problem???? Really???
