why take the chance of getting a placebo in our trial instead of getting Mesopblast treatment for sure?
As for Covid, our treatment may be better, but Mesoblast is way ahead of us and will steal our thunder.
I understand the pain and frustration leading to the protests currently taking place against police brutality and systemic racism.
those seeking to unify and uplift us all.
have a clear connection to the subject of this forum, please take those issues elsewhere for discussion.
there is only so long the buyers above 9 are going to be patient
Thanks for the pointer! It certainly looks like Pluristem has the technology to produce as many doses as required. I imagine setting up as many bioreactors as necessary for producing sufficient product is just a matter of increasing the number of bioreactors.
I wonder how MESO can meet the need with 2D technology.
I don't think growing them will be the difference maker
My best guess is that stem cells as a new form of therapy will be effective as a class. Meaning that it is likely that MESO and Pluristem will have similar efficacy in similar indications, with the possibility of specific differences for some indications, based on the growth environment.
This leads to the burning question of which company will have the ability to produce cells on an "industrial scale" and provide it to the clinician in a easy to use form (off the shelf). Here's a blurb from the MESO web site:
Mesenchymal lineage cells are collected from the bone marrow of healthy adult donors and proprietary processes are utilized to expand them to a uniform, well characterized, and highly reproducible cell population. This enables manufacturing at industrial scale for commercial purposes.
A biological weapon that kills less than 2% of the people it infects is not a very good biological weapon.
More bubbles to come.
this pig stock...
Day after day just hoping that they are doing the right thing and making progress is a tough sell for the newer shareholders who got in $9 and above.
Might be relevant for AUPH

An initially promising drug has failed to show benefits in a phase II trial for the rare kidney disease focal segmental glomerulosclerosis (FSGS), prompting the US biotech ChemoCentryx and its Swiss collaborator Vifor Pharma to drop it for this indication.
Patents mean nothing if not turned into a viable, marketed profitable product.
Pluristem is a joke until they put the pedal to the metal.

A very interesting, personal note from Stem one.
I think you put some flesh on the situation I have mentioned in the past, that stem cells still have a bit of lingering bad smell that needs to be overcome. The science is VERY persuasive, but even in the medical community there is the association with the "copper bracelet for cancer treatment" of recent past.
The sad reality of your family experience is that doctors are also creatures of habit, and unfortunately rather dictatorial. One would think that the final decision of your medical treatment should NOT be attending physicians, or government health commissioners (we have seen the latter cause the death of thousands of elderly patients in the USA and GB with relatives standing by helplessly).
When PLST (and others) show efficacy in treating Covid and other maladies, the transformation of attitudes will be precipitous, along with our valuation.
I also agree with you and others on this board that the placebo cohort in Covid is a moral indecency, with no scientific value. We have a huge, natural cohort of patients not being treated with PLX-PAD, we KNOW the outcome there, so the contrast with the treated group should be obvious. To bad for you if you happen to fall in the placibo group. Incomprehensible stupidity, driven, again by the health bureaucracy. So much for big government control of health care.
I support higher taxation on the rich corporations
The clown you are replying to has never gotten anything right....ever.
judging by the situation in Europe vs USA, I would say it's down to good EU leadership and poor USA leadership.

I will assume that we won't get any big news until we reach the 28 day endpoint
Forgive my ignorance but I find it hard to rejoice for their
investment in Pluristem.
You are abusive with the highlighted and all caps posts. You aren't special.
I just knew that PSTI was an absolute must buy.
“ a leopard doesn’t change it’s spots”
why everyone is so excited about PLX cells and covid? It's not like there will be massive dosing.
And your opine?
cowan and company gave auph a 30 dollar outperform!
they will be treating patients in the trial b4 getting to the ventilator!
Gilead and the major Bio-Pharma have a stranglehold on the FDA.
This is an administration that NEVER admit a mistake.
First, congratulations on accumulating, I think you'll be happy you did.
As far as turning into a profitable company (you say 2-3 years), I don't think it will take that long. There is a big pent-up demand (CLI, muscle regen., etc.) so that even without Covid, we should have a reasonably fast return (see my note to Kronberg). If it works out with Covid, we'll be in warp-speed territory.
My "experience" in this field is definitely dated. I started to do graduate work in biochemistry at a cancer research institute. Spent a few years working in a lab doing work on hyeline membrane disease. That was a lifetime ago (switched to computer science).
Things have changed a lot since, but I do have a sense of how difficult and painstaking this kind of research is, and I have a great deal of respect for people who are good at it.
I do agree that large revenue may take a while, but do keep in mind that our current valuation is ridiculously low, and if we do get confirmation that PLX-PAD is an effective therapy for Covid, the increase in value will be immediate and very big. Once we get to a 10 bagger, I can be patient and wait for the revenues. Also, we don't know what will happen, a buyout is certainly a possibility, thus short term big reward is possible.
As far as the detailed mechanism of action(s) of the cells, that is clearly not fully characterized. But, it doesn't have to be (it will be eventually!). The cells are complex, with the capability of responding to their environment, and will take remedial action (secrete proteins) to restore balance, in this case (among other things) reduce inflammation. This the magic of MSCs, they "know" what they need to do. As deeper knowledge develops, they will be able to tweak the cells to perform in a more targeted way (it's what I call sending the cells to finishing school, ie. the bioreactor with the right reagent mix). It seems that what we have now is good enough to do the job.
I went from optimistic to more optimistic with the Covid development. As a graduate of the Ariad saga, I know that we can go from ecstasy to despair overnight (happily for me and saud, it was ecstasy in the end). So, I do remain somewhat cautious, but definitely feeling pretty good now. Covid 19 lit a fire under everybody's b'tt, and I can't believe that if the results are good, they will deny the therapeutic tool to patients who are suffering and dying today. In any case, the other P3s are still in the mix, and they'll be coming in this year. Multiple chances at the brass ring!
I prefer to be cautiously optimistic and not build big air castles in advance.
It Will Be Pluristem's Decision To Decide The Time & Place To Release The Boris Johnson News If It's TRUE ?
If the PM was saved with PLX-PAD, AND he's not sharing that information with the public, and if the British health services do not make that widely available, THEN they're utterly indecent and indifferent to the welfare of their people.
That may be the case, but at this point I don't believe it.
hi ZZAATT, do you still own AUPH?
"pick up your marbles and go home" says terrik of the "ass hat" fame!
It's certainly an option!
we comoletely missed the opportunity there. Im just gping to put my money to work other places
