Agree 100% regarding likely omission of Temodar in the future, which is why I think Merck might want to position to not lose out by having other parts of the combination treatments, and possibly influence the timing of Temodar’s retirement from the GBM treatment regimen.
Nothing wrong with partnerships going forward regardless of water under the bridge.
You keep dreaming and spewing falsehoods.
We’ve debunked that recycled FUD several times already.
That little farce wouldn’t fool a Corleone
If I were running nwbo I would go the partnership route with multiple partnerships and possibly licensing. I think DCVax value would be greater in a sum of its part(nerships)
I think Merck will not burn bridges and will create bridges. Merck not only has keytruda but also has Temodar (sp?) as part of current standard of care, and the phase 3 trial administered DCVax in addition to the SOC radiation and chemo.
So these three (Temodar, keytruda, nwbo,(poly iclc)) can have symbiotic and/or replacement relationships. If I were Merck, I would want some control/influence over the paths and relationships and be positioned for the potential outcomes.
How to accomplish this may have to play out like a chess game however Merck should not be a bystander in the field.
Full disclosure, in addition to nwbo I have a relatively much smaller position in Merck just as a big Pharma holding.
Yes, it would be great if the settlement incorporates such means to deter at least some types of shenanigans going forward!
The judge seems to have done his homework for sure, and although I agree it would seem an open and shut case, I suspect the judge has to read out impartially however he identified a weakness in the complaint and how to modify the complaint to avoid a granting of the MTD.
Imo this readout was beneficial to nwbo’s case for ultimately denying the MTD, setting up eventual settlement because the MMs have too much of a good thing to risk airing the dirty laundry publicly, and just get on with business pretty much as usual.
Agreed that the lawsuit isn’t the main event, approvals and collaborations are the main events!
The law suit is also important because:
A) it might provide big settlements to bolster nwbo balance sheet (no bk threat) and fund trials, research, and broadening indications, and aid uplisting
B) shine a spotlight on the MMs’ shenanigans and possibly get some relief from some of the shenanigans, while exposing the shenanigans and possibly encouraging other companies to follow suit (pun intended)
C) possibly encourage the SEC and Justice to police the markets better, but the big MMs have friends in high places and the big bucks to influence. Let’s face it, influence can be curried for relatively small amounts so large amounts can materialize strong support. Imo it’s not that the SEC and others are getting greased, rather it’s possible that job security and budget allocations might be the concern. After all the thinking might be that if position and/or budget is lost, then the rest of the good stuff is jeopardized, perhaps?
In summary, the suit can be very important however the approvals and commercializations are job 1 imo!!!
As Cramer says, You’ve got horse sense!!!
All sound points and logic grounded in reality.
The only thing I might add is in the MMs redefining their “value added” I’m inclined to guess they are so used to the easy money from questionable practices that they will pare down the easy to prosecute shenanigans and concentrate on the harder to prosecute shenanigans. They probably feel they “are” the market and with their power and money corrupting absolutely an entitlement psychology dominates imo.
The MMs can bail by offering a settlement so they can continue business as usual.
The MMs can also choose to change sides and go long nwbo after covering their shorts.
Will the MMs do these things?
Now if the MMs offer a settlement and Nwbo rejects it, things can get full contact mano a mano!
I’d guess rather than fight the Wall Street equivalent of WW3, nwbo would take the big settlement and as LP once said, use it to fund the expanded ongoing DCVax platform efforts.
Not to mention pay a decent dividend each quarter to us retired and non retired shareholders!
I hear ya!
My father in law keeps urging us to travel and enjoy these “younger “ years while we can.
Interesting analogy as I do tend to tear up looking in the mirror
I’m a firm believer that age is mostly just a number best not to dwell upon,…… except when you get those hip joint pains that come and go to remind you
I didn’t have the cohones to load up nwbo at 0.14 but did buy a bunch between $0.25-$0.50 to lower the average pps to $0.68 from much higher.
Looking back it didn’t make sense to buy higher and not at the lowest price.
That was quite a while ago and before many milestones were achieved.
Now as you say, just before a very likely approval, $0.15 would be a backup the truck gift. I’m still buying at these prices since my average crept back up to about $0.73 from buying some at higher prices like just before May 10th NYAS robbery took place!
If you’re like me, your inner voice remains at about 19 years of age and still get somewhat surprised when looking in a mirror
One of these glorious mornings we will awaken to the news of MAA approval!!!
And you can’t keep a good combination down!!!
Where there is enhanced efficacy there will be actualization of the same!!!
Common sense and facts will prevail, no doubt.
We’re about the same age since I graduated HS in 1972.
I can and will go on for hours about the experiences and enjoy learning others’ experiences, and there are many longs here with a variety of unique life experiences.
Spending some of your time in a convertible on or near PCH in the 70s and 80s must have been glorious!
When I was spending half my time in SoCal for work, I several times was able to rent corvette convertibles for a week or more, and during my downtime drive up and down PCH, like driving up to Malibu and having a meal at the restaurant off PCH.
When I would luck out with a vette i would elect to stay in SoCal rather than red eye home Friday night to fly back out early the next week!
I like celebs like Buddy Epsen who are grounded and approachable and not full of themselves. We traveled so much that we would swing first class a lot on United Airlines and would sometimes sit next to or near various celebs, and for the most part they were friendly.
Once Stevie Wonder boarded the flight from LAX and played a keyboard and sang in first class for a good while. He got applause from the passengers when he boarded and when deplaning at the other end!
Looking forward to our well earned celebrations!
Sounds great Gary!
Haven’t made it to Catalina Island but it’s on my list!
Reno and the Lake too. Closest I’ve been is Vegas, which was fun but limited to the casinos and shows, and a little time at the Caesars Palace pool.
It’ll be nice to be able to do a celebratory tour with stops and get togethers.
Heck, probably not me, but some of us longs will probably afford a private jet!
Maybe together some of us could afford to charter a jet like the rock bands do.
GLTA! 2024 is the year that starts it all for all the patients and the patient longs!
The more the merrier!!!
I guess it’s true that birds of a feather flock together
Laguna Beach/Newport Beach was my favorite SoCal location and would be where I would like to live if I had to live in SoCal, also La Jolla near San Diego.
We caught the Festival of the Masters a couple of years in Laguna, and really liked to eat at Las Brisas there on the coast!!!
When my daughter made a trip to Newport Beach to visit a friend, she made it a point to go to Las Brisas and she liked it also about 25 years after I was last there.
When we move to Georgia we plan on finally visiting places like Nashville, Memphis, the Kentucky Derby, Charleston SC, the Florida panhandle, Asheville, etc.
It seems like everything is a 3-4 drive from Alpharetta
Yes what you describe is all true, however one man’s ceiling is another man’s floor
What I mean with complete seriousness is that for me, I moved to near the Jersey shore from Brooklyn NY in 1985 when the NJ area I moved to was still transforming from new housing developments and a good amount of undeveloped farmland and open spaces, to a still very nice environment of detached single family homes, some good amount of open spaces but very little if any undeveloped farmland, and more congestion on the roads than there used to be. In comparison Brooklyn has become a sad version of what it used to be, with traffic lights virtually on every corner, making what used to be short pleasant drives at least twice as long and much more stressful.
Now, Alpharetta for me is like the move I made from Brooklyn to NJ.
Yes, Alpharetta has been undergoing a rapid growth with always new construction projects and commute time congestion that is surprisingly bad for how residential it is. And I imagine I’ll treat trips to Atlanta like I treat New York City, only occasionally and when necessary
Still, Alpharetta is now like my neighborhood in NJ was like in the 1980s, and probably more rural even now than NJ was then. So I’m looking forward to resetting back compared to where I am now, which is still very nice and with the trees and wildlife that provide the nature feel instead of the concrete jungle.
Furthermore I’m moving to a golf course lot in the back of the golf course that’s very serene and natural with a great view of the course and lake, and I’m retired so it should be almost a sanctuary of sorts for us, yet 5 minutes to the nearest Publix and restaurants.
Sorry for the long post, just saying you did what was better for you and not to mention also better tax wise, and given our daughter lives 5 minutes away from our new home, it’s still an improvement for us I hope and definitely a lot more tax friendly for us seniors than NJ.
I love the area we are in in NJ but with our kids in the southeast and the relatively fresher environment and tax advantages, I’m looking forward to the move and change in the environment and lifestyle!
Hope to celebrate with y’all soon!
That paucity of news should be ending, giving way to more frequent and informative PRs and an even greater increase due to the press coverage that will come, no longer suppressed by the cabal!!!
And perhaps the proverbial “cure for cancer!”
I’ve seen a lot of scientific and technological advances in my lifetime, however it would be truly awesome to witness the dawn of the cancer cure.
I’m feeling March-April for approval but my timing guesses haven’t been accurate.
The important thing is that approval be granted, the precise timing is secondary, except the patients would benefit the sooner!
I’m looking forward to it for a very long time!
Very ready to celebrate DCVax/nwbo success with fellow longs and this is finally the year!
MHRA approval first, which is putting the CarTB4horse as has been pointed out. Then we put the horseb4CarT, which was my way of guessing years ago that it might be efficacious to give patients DCVax (the horse) before CarT, which turned out to be a lucky guess about a combo treatment.
You’re very kind, and I appreciate the effort you put into your due diligence and connecting the dots!
Hopefully when nwbo’s true value is realized we can all celebrate around the country at gatherings of us longs!
I’m moving to Georgia, north of Atlanta, in the second half of the year and there are a number of nwbo longs living in the area. I propose a celebration at Avalon, which has a number of restaurants of different types and a great place for coffee, espresso, and desserts.
But the area is full of other great venues!
Among my responsibilities when I was working during my career was about 33 years of managing software development teams, as well as hardware and computer systems, and systems engineering. My career was about 42 years total.
I’ve personally done many of those things myself hands on before I became technical management.
So we have a lot of common ground and I can relate with you. What I miss most is working and having friendly relationships with all the smart technical people.
You do great investigative analysis!
Have you ever been an intelligence analyst or forensic detective?
Impressive!
Good points!
So do you really think the MHRA approved Sawston manufacturing with highest ratings to not manufacture DCVax?
Also, overall costs of DCVax treatments is lower than stuff that doesn’t have efficacy and furthermore since the safety profile and tolerability is so great, you should see fewer expensive collateral issues and emergency situations. Then also you should not need all the meds to deal with side effects (no anti nausea, no terrible mouth and skin sores, etc.)
DCVax should lower overall treatment costs, extend and possibly save many lives!!!
Leave the gun, take the cannoli !
Interesting online newsletter item re Merck:
Merck wants to beef up its immunology pipeline through additional deals, the Big Pharma’s chief medical officer Eliav Barr said at an Endpoints News event on Tuesday.
“We’ll be looking for those immunology opportunities that we think can complement or add a new facet to things,” Barr said.
The big pharma, which houses the best-selling cancer medicine Keytruda, has invested substantially in immunology in recent years, including a $10.8 billion buyout of Prometheus last year. That deal gave Merck an experimental treatment for inflammatory bowel diseases and firmly moved the company into the immunology field.
With all due respect, I don’t believe Flipper has been hiding as a wolf in sheep’s clothing for all these years.
Flipper has been a steady asset to this board for a long time and his sound interpretations over the years have kept me from panicking and thus staying comfortable with nwbo when there have been troubling reports or events.
Now yes we can all grow weary and impatient from time to time, and between that and personal attacks one can react less than positively, however that’s a far cry from being an imposter.
Anyway that’s how I feel, and everyone is entitled to their own feelings.
Peace and love, peace and love!
I’m more positive than ever!
DCVax is a very big deal and has the potential to help so many in a safe manner that provides quality of life and preserves dignity!!!
For all longs:
There is more to unite us than to divide us!
Let’s not lose sight of our common ground and let’s not devolve into behaviors like the guttersnipe paid mercenaries on this board.
“Can’t we just get along?”
Yes, absolutely!
Even this year!!
Approval is the game changer.
A little decorum please.
A lot of negative narrative BS being posted, and lately some hairsplitting among us that imo isn’t worth the agida and jousting.
The concrete situation:
1. MAA submitted and awaiting approval
2. Efficacy validated/modus operandi ID-ed
3. Combo treatments show > > efficacy
4. Combo treatments will happen
5. Cooperation/partnerships will happen
6. Approval very likely and gaining support
Nobody here would do what you claim because we all know too well how terrible GBM is.
We wish the breakthrough gets out to help as many people as possible and possibly help with other cancers.
We are not privy to any behind the scenes discussions both within nwbo and with potentially interested parties.
Therefore it’s only guessing that nwbo not choosing to be distracted from the L effort, and the derisking gained by waiting for L trial and approval to be completed, especially in a fight for survival against opposing elements, waiting isn’t a bad option.
Typical bashing reply that is offbase and dismissive of the massive accomplishments including efficacy and the most important being OS benefit and the growing number of wonderful human beings that are sharing their extended lives with their families and friends!!!
Dare I say a growing number can be considered cured!!!
What course of treatment would you take or recommend to someone you love for GBM?
