Yes what you describe is all true, however one man’s ceiling is another man’s floorsmile

What I mean with complete seriousness is that for me, I moved to near the Jersey shore from Brooklyn NY in 1985 when the NJ area I moved to was still transforming from new housing developments and a good amount of undeveloped farmland and open spaces, to a still very nice environment of detached single family homes, some good amount of open spaces but very little if any undeveloped farmland, and more congestion on the roads than there used to be. In comparison Brooklyn has become a sad version of what it used to be, with traffic lights virtually on every corner, making what used to be short pleasant drives at least twice as long and much more stressful.

Now, Alpharetta for me is like the move I made from Brooklyn to NJ.

Yes, Alpharetta has been undergoing a rapid growth with always new construction projects and commute time congestion that is surprisingly bad for how residential it is. And I imagine I’ll treat trips to Atlanta like I treat New York City, only occasionally and when necessary smile

Still, Alpharetta is now like my neighborhood in NJ was like in the 1980s, and probably more rural even now than NJ was then. So I’m looking forward to resetting back compared to where I am now, which is still very nice and with the trees and wildlife that provide the nature feel instead of the concrete jungle.

Furthermore I’m moving to a golf course lot in the back of the golf course that’s very serene and natural with a great view of the course and lake, and I’m retired so it should be almost a sanctuary of sorts for us, yet 5 minutes to the nearest Publix and restaurants.

Sorry for the long post, just saying you did what was better for you and not to mention also better tax wise, and given our daughter lives 5 minutes away from our new home, it’s still an improvement for us I hope and definitely a lot more tax friendly for us seniors than NJ.

I love the area we are in in NJ but with our kids in the southeast and the relatively fresher environment and tax advantages, I’m looking forward to the move and change in the environment and lifestyle!

Hope to celebrate with y’all soon!
