Rescue operation under way at N. Idaho silver mineBy KEITH RIDLER Associated Press
Posted: 04/16/2011 01:55:18 PM MDT
BOISE, Idaho—One miner was missing and a rescue operation was under way Saturday after a collapse at a mine in northern Idaho.
Hecla Mining Company spokeswoman Melanie Hennessey said the collapse occurred about 5:30 p.m. Friday at Lucky Friday Mine in Mullan, Idaho. She says that a portion of the mine is blocked.
A federal Mine Safety and Health Administration official said one miner is missing. Hennessey declined to provide other details.
On its web site, Hecla describes itself as the oldest U.S.-based precious metals mining company in North America and the largest silver producer in the U.S. It is headquartered in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho.
Hecla currently produces silver from two mines, Greens Creek and Lucky Friday, according to the site.

There is a completly new site up now..
I posted this over a year ago (on another board)..nobody gave any opinion as to whether the preferred can be exercised.
If the preferred shares were issued illegally..could it be that they are not now legally convertable to common? Or, could we, the stuckholders go to court to protect our interests?
From the recent SEC report.
"In summary, the Order finds that since electing to be regulated as a business development company ("BDC") in January 2004, the Company has, among other things, issued senior securities without the required asset coverage, issued warrants without approval of its shareholders, issued prohibited non-voting stock, issued securities for services, failed to make and keep required records, and failed to establish a majority of non-interested directors on its board of directors. As a result, the Company violated certain provisions of the Investment Act of 1940 (the "1940 Act"). In addition, the Company failed to obtain a fidelity bond and implement a compliance program as required under the 1940 Act. Finally, the Company failed to comply with certain provisions for exemption from registration under the 1933 Act as related to Rule 609 of Regulation E because it did not file required offering status reports in connection with a securities offering commenced in January 2004."
Ot Saturn
You were lucky..Saturn chose not to have a recall..Those cars that failed during the extended warranty period were taken care of..those that lasted too long..time wise were stuck..
Saturn SL 1 not bullit proof
I boutght a new 1996 SL1..Sometime in the "early years" I recieved an extended warranty on the head. Seems that they had a flaw that could result in a cracked head..
Time went on and I had forgotten about that..in 2006..long after the extended warranty expired..I started seeing peanut butter in the radiator and at the same time engine oil was disapearing a quart in a couple hundred miles..The head did crack..and Saturn would not do anything about it..other than say bring it in (65 miles) and if it is the crack..we will help you..but no indication as to how much..I had quotes of $2,000 to fix it..The car had 61k at that time..
A couple months before I spent $405 on towing and replacing the linkage of the manual transmission. I know of another instance where the linkage failed at 135k on one that did a lot of highway driving..
So, for years I thought the car was reliable..after that I rank it as unreliable..
The SL 2's have a diferent head so are probably not prone to that defect..
I mis-typed..I meant Charles Bitters..
Contractor..Does CB own preferred stock? Can he convert said shares to 10,500,000 common shares? The chart on pg 43 is about common shares..
The preferred stock is non-voting..that is why I believe they violated SEC rules..as stated in the 10q (Yahoo) for 3/08
I was referring to JB"s convertible preferred stock..not the $2,000,000 debentures..
"issued prohibited non-voting stock" from 10q for 3/31/08
I am not aware of any other form of stock being issued..
The preferreds are non-voting....
I think we are talking about the same security..
The converts were not legit per the SEC..so maybe JB won't be able to exercise the conversion..any lawyers out there?
John Coleman is an American meteorologist and the founder of The Weather Channel.
Coleman started his career at WCIA (TV) in Champaign, Illinois, doing weekend weather and a local show called At The Hop. He later became the weather anchor for WCIA's sister station WMBD-TV in Peoria, Illinois, and later weather anchor for WMAQ-TV and WLS-TV[1] and weatherman on New York television and on Good Morning America for seven years.[2]
During his time at Chicago's WLS-TV, Coleman was one of Chicago's most popular meteorologists, famous for his amusing and irreverent style. He popularized the words "thorms" and "thowers" to represent thunderstorms and thundershowers.[citation needed]
After founding and leaving The Weather Channel, Coleman became weather anchor at independent television station KUSI-TV in San Diego, California as his "retirement job".[2]
I prefer separate boards..like some others, I was unaware of the AG board..
the 100 dollar oil was a single minimum buy to have bragging rights to that mile stone..the contract was immediately sold for a loss..
"There was nothing in it. Nothing."
The inbetween the lines said something..since AENP has utterly failed to produce any shareholder value as implied per long ago prs..they are going to change MO to something that will increase shareholder value..lol (lots of luck in this case)
Contractor..a question..on another board you said that CB wasn't the lead dog..can you elaborate? TIA
Hey Duck..
Don't tell him nothing..
until he tells the board where this came from
"But with their assets and the news these guys are about to release, you shouldn't worry. Just don't let the other bashers upset you."
Where did he get information about a release?
Contractor
"That's about like "I hated the color, and the engine runs rough, and the tires are bald, nobody should be expected to drive this kind of car... but I bought it!" or "It's bones are sticking out, and it's teets are all dried up, and nobody in their right mind would go for this cow, but I bought it!""
Yes, but..when I bought this "car" there were "hopes" of getting a rebuilt engine, new paint job, new front end etc.
So far, none of these hopes have come to pass as best as I can see. Now that I have this "car" I am upside down on the note..

"who cares what other oil companies are doing"
I care..and I don't care if you dunt.
Here is my theory..
"Even if it's just a "Hey, it rained again!" kind of thing"
After the ridicule CB got from what I believe he thought was a very significant event he made up his mind that any shareholder that is that ignorant doesn't deserve any pr's. Also, most ceo's have long menories..& will get revenge given the opportunity.
I would not be surprised to see no company information other than SEC reports..imo
There are so many "good" posts and pr's..what went wrong?

Hey..Looks like CB used to think about us stockholders..
American Energy Production Inc., Announces Update on Oil Drilling Rig
Tuesday October 11, 7:00 am ET
MINERAL WELLS, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 11, 2005--American Energy Production Inc. (OTCBB: AMEP - News) Due to the enormous amount of share holder interest, AMEP announced today a progress report on the Ideco drilling rig purchased by Investee AMEP Strategic Investments Inc.
Charles Bitters, President of American Energy Production Inc., said, "The refurbishing of the Ideco oil drilling rig is going very well. All of the mud pump engines have been started and have great oil pressure. They are all running very smoothly. The draw works engines will be started today. The company is very happy with these results, because any engine problems would set back the drilling of the first well. Pressure washing and new paint on the rig is almost complete. If the draw works engines run properly, later in the week the derrick will be raised and pictures of the drilling rig will be posted on the websites of AMEP and Oil America Group."
The drilling rig work over should be completed and the rig operational in the next ten days. At that time the Company will move the drilling rig to Bend Arch Petroleum Inc., 12 well property, and drill a 3,100 foot developmental well. This well will have four to five potential natural gas formations that could produce 300,000 to 500,000 cubic feet of natural gas per day, however there are no guarantees the well will be commercial. The company will drill this relatively shallow well before it attempts to drill a horizontal Barnett Shale natural gas well to test all the rig systems and work out any issues that may occur on the drilling rig before attempting a maximum depth effort.
Initial inquiries for the Oil America Group Limited Drilling Partnership have been overwhelming. Joe Christopher and his corporate counsel have submitted the documents for final approval. The Oil America Group Investor program will begin the week of the 20th of October. Potential investors will be notified when the program receives final approval. American Energy Production, Inc., Announces Purchase of Oil Drilling Rig by Investee
Thursday September 1, 9:00 am ET
MINERAL WELLS, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 1, 2005--American Energy Production, Inc., (OTCBB:AMEP - News) announced today that AMEP Strategic Investments, Inc., an investee, has purchased an 8,000 foot capacity Ideco drilling rig from Aramdrill in Mexico. This acquisition allows American Energy Production, Inc., and its' investees, Bend Arch Petroleum and Oil America Group, Inc., to redefine their long range exploration and development strategy for the 7,000 acres of Barnett Shale prospects currently owned by Bend Arch Petroleum, Inc.
Charles Bitters, President of American Energy Production, Inc., said, "The Company is very excited about the acquisition of the Ideco Drilling Rig. To locate a rig of this type in the current demand driven environment is a small miracle. There just are not any rigs of this quality for sale. Because of the recent record prices for crude oil and natural gas, it is almost impossible to schedule a rig. The current rig availability is at best six months and more often than not, one year. This is the perfect drilling rig for the productions horizons the Company is interested in exploiting.
"The Barnett Shale was the largest natural gas producing field in the United States last year and is currently one of the hottest energy plays in the world, attracting such companies as XTO, Devon and Quicksilver. This rig has the capacity to drill horizontal Barnett Shale wells with lateral sections of up to 3,000 feet. Bend Arch Petroleum can re-enter several Barnett Shale and Marble Falls prospects while Oil America Group is selling limited partnership drilling programs in the Barnett Shale. Now there will not be any delay while waiting for other drilling rig contractors."
This drilling rig will become another significant profit center for the AMEP companies. Rigs with a drilling capacity of 8,000 feet are currently netting $10,000.00 per day. If this drilling rig operates approximately 200 days per year the gross income would be $2,000,000.00 per year. Bend Arch Petroleum, Inc., and Oil America Group should be able to participate in an additional twenty (20) oil and gas wells in the next year because of the availability of this drilling rig. Twenty new oil or gas wells producing the equivalent of only 20 barrels of oil per day would generate a gross income of approximately $6,000,000.00 per year.
Initial inquiries for the Oil America Group Limited Drilling Partnership have been overwhelming. Joe Christopher and his corporate counsel have submitted the documents for final approval. They should begin taking partnership subscriptions in early September. Potential investors will be notified when the program receives final approval. For more information contact: jchristoper@oilamericagroup.com or 972-386-0601.

There were 4 million authorized..not 5 million..the question in my mind is are the converted preferreds treated like treasury shares or are they retired and no longer available for re-issuance?
Re: the authorized preferred stock still available..Apparently the "other" 500k shares were issued and subsequently converted to common shares.."all gone"
