I figured I would give you little more info. when you researched this on the 9th of Aug a PR was the released the following week on MTI Energy Management site.

Here are some links for you to take a look at which show the multiple streams of income MKBY would have comming in and how the affiliates of MKBY and MTI would work together.

Here's some links that will give you enough info on the company. Also the first installation is underway right now in Ishpeming MI. They have had a few setbacks in the process but only as expected. MKBY and MTI were also in court for a couple of years but settled the case in Apr I belive. Part of the settlement was the resignations of the BOD for MKBY. The new board has been seated with a bunch of ground pounding green energy guru's.

The project that is underway in Michigan and the New BOD is what I think has kept this stock from going sub penny

Feds Now Accepting Applications for Solar, Wind Power.

The U.S. Department of Treasury said Friday it's now accepting applications for a program for renewable energy project developers who wish to forgo a 30 percent investment tax credit in exchange for the equivalent amount in cash.

The Treasury department's announcement came three weeks after it released guidelines and a sample application to help companies prepare to apply for the grant online (see application website).

Project developers have been waiting for the government to start processing applications and giving out money ever since February this year, when the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 created the program.

The program is meant to inject financing into a business that has found it difficult to line up money to build renewable energy generation projects.

But the financial market crisis has sidelined tax equity investors who in the past would invest in projects to make use of a 30 percent investment tax credit. If the investors aren't making much money, then they aren't likely to see a lot of value in taking a tax write-off.

The Treasury department expects to dole out $3 billion to about 5,000 projects generating power from solar, wind, biomass and other sources, the government said.

The U.S. Department of Energy, which knows more about renewable energy technologies, will help the Treasury department to review the applications.

The department promised to give out the cash within 60 days of receiving applications, but project developers must first complete the projects and put them into service.

Projects that have been installed since Jan. 1, 2009 are eligible. There is no cap for the amount each applicant could receive.

The grant program is meant to help projects that are up and running during 2009 and 2010. The government would consider projects that aren't finished by the end of 2010. The guidelines spell out more deadlines.

Although renewable energy companies were grateful when the government first created the program, some worry that the government might not dispense the money quickly enough to stimulate market demand (see Reality Check: How Much Impact Can the Feds Have on Solar?).

The Solar Energy Industries Association is now lobbying for a one-year extension of the program.

Ok I just looked over MKBY a bit.. it sounds like there is a lot of promise here. The whole idea of acquiring rights to renewable energy technologies and then licensing them to companies that will create, market, and distribute the products is a great one. It is easy to see that.. the issue to me is a lack of clarity regarding what the company is currently doing.

In their April 16th PR, it said: "MTI to own the Pioneer Bluff, Ishpeming, Michigan WindStor® installation." Clean Green Energy LLC (CGE), a subsidiary of MTI, is the one that would be making the Windstor turbines come to life as I understand it. However, what has happened since that point? MKBY has released no PR's that I can see to update the shareholders/investors as to what progress has been made.. another issue is what other renewable energy technology licenses are on the plate.. Windstor alone sounds great if MKBY really got $25,000 per turbine installation from MTI. But how many installations will there be? When are they going to happen?

I went on the Clean Green Energy LLC website and it is not that frequently updated and I actually did not see a single mention of MKBY, even in their press releases, which of course mentioned the Windstor technology. It doesn't matter a ton, but the extra attention to MKBY would have been nice to see.. personally if I worked for MKBY doing public relations or marketing I would have asked CGE to include a small section about MKBY on their website, but whatever lol.

In short, very nice find.. I like the potential of MKBY as a green technology holdings company. I just see many of the issues that hurt pink companies: lack of updates to the website & lack of PR's. Sometimes pink companies release TOO MANY PR's (i.e. fluff), but no update since April is just too long. If MKBY is to be a serious player, management really needs to do a better job with PR and taking care of INVESTOR RELATIONS.. a more clear pipeline needs to be established (what other technologies are in the works beyond Windstor) & a series of updates as to what the company is doing and how their installations for MTI are progressing. All IMO of course, I hope this was insightful.

All of the changes that are still being proposed for more bailout money, they are still not addressing the real estate buyer's mindset. Have you asked why a buyer is not buying? Try asking your friends and family this question. The response will be: too much for a home, taxes are too high and job security is an issue. Who wants an investment that is going south in value. Would you? The state of the real estate market is what is on the line. Ideas from real estate practitioners are what policy makers both Democrats and Republicans, need to be seeking. (And don't ask NAR, the National Association of Realtors -- they are just more policy makers.)

Ask the people in the trenches. Having completed close to 400 real estate transactions, ask me. We need to give the buyer reason to buy again. Create better local and federal tax incentives and make then visible for homeowners to renovate green. A healthier home that comes with lower utility bills and reasonable taxes is an overall better investment. Would you buy a home in this economic climate with a $600 utility bill and taxes at $3,000? That could be over $10,000 a year if your job is at risk or you feel insecure at all about the future. Talk about stress.

Sellers, builders, and renovators need to renovate and produce a product worth buying. THINK WHAT TAX INCENTIVES TO RENOVATE AND BUILD GREEN WOULD DO TO THE MARKET! Then the buyer will come. Then the value of that investment will increase again. Prices and taxes need to be adjusted, big time. Who wants a mortgage at $1100 and another $1100 in taxes and utilities? The upside is that these tactical moves by government will create a job base building a new energy sector. This will also increase small businesses aimed at these types of renovations, as well as jobs for administrative forces. My company Green Real Estate Education has established a "green leadership" certification program for under $100, offering the real estate agent a new reason to visit their clients, with good news.

This industry needs market transformation. We are educating on how a home can build real value. It is not and will never be business as usual again. We are doing this with education in the field of energy consumption. Realtors learn how they can guide clients to mortgage professionals whose companies develop programs that can help fund a home to be energy efficient, using renewable energy. That creates better value. Through our educational programs, we push the mortgage industry to offer "green funding" programs for consumers to have upgraded systems installed in their homes to save on energy costs. The real estate industry needs to know how to save money and create valid reasons to want home ownership again.

I can tell you the real estate market will not recover with just lowering interest rates, or with just a focus on another bailout. Buyers want green homes. If a consumer looks at a home today, not only can it not lose value, but it better be energy efficient. It better offer a healthier interior space.

Indeed. The difference between plasma gasification and conventional renewable energy technique is that plasma gasification is a universal solution to harnessing clean energy & eliminating or seriously reducing our waste management issues. That is where the line must be drawn.

Also, keep in mind that this technology is very efficient at harnessing electricity and is inexpensive compares to alternative methods, ie. solar energy.

Alter NRG’s wholly owned subsidiary, Westinghouse Plasma Corporation (WPC), is a gasification company based in Madison, Pennsylvania that licenses and sells plasma gasification technology and products worldwide.

It's plasma technology was developed over a period greater than 30 years and with an estimated $100 million in Westinghouse R&D funding. The WPC technology was initially developed in collaboration with NASA for use in the Apollo space program to simulate space vehicle re-entry conditions of over 5,500°C (10,000°F).

Since the 1980s, the WPC technology has proven itself in various applications over several years in industrial facilities owned or operated by companies such as Alcan, General Motors and Hitachi Metals.

Plasma Arc Gasification/melting of MSW (commercial/commercial scale demonstration)

After demonstration of the gasification technology for MSW at the pilot plant in Yoshii, Japan during 1999-2000, the Japanese government certified the technology for construction of a commercial size plant. The plant was completed in July 2002. This new plant uses primarily automobile shredder residue (ASR) as fuel with approximately 165 ton d-1 capacity but has been designed to run with a 50% mixture of MSW. It can also process approximately 300 ton d-1 of 100% MSW.

After commissioning, the plant was released to the customer for commercial operation in April 2003. In December 2002, the twin cities of Mihama and Mikata, Japan commissioned a MSW and sewage sludge treatment plant. Hitachi Metals Ltd. designed and installed this plant. It processes 24 ton d-1 of MSW and 4 ton d-1 of sewage sludge.
The RW Beck report for Honolulu (RWBeck 2003) indicates Hitachi and Westinghouse Plasma were co-developers of a MSW conversion plant in Yoshii, Japan. This ran at a scale of 166 ton d-1 so it can be considered commercial scale demonstration.

Interesting one -- I just took a look, I have an extensive sheet of companies, but somehow overlooked this one. Yeah, SNRS would definitely qualify based on their long term agenda in the solar energy market. Since they are in the process of waiting for a move to the U.S. market some patience is needed, but I will go ahead and add this one to the list, nice find!
