Indeed. The difference between plasma gasification and conventional renewable energy technique is that plasma gasification is a universal solution to harnessing clean energy & eliminating or seriously reducing our waste management issues. That is where the line must be drawn.

Also, keep in mind that this technology is very efficient at harnessing electricity and is inexpensive compares to alternative methods, ie. solar energy.
