whats up bud, been awhile!
the skype chats have turned into far more than they originally were. there are rooms used for venting, swing trading, day trading, and sharing DD. there are party/hangout rooms, and just general banter. but more importantly, its a place where the like minded folks, and sometimes the ones not on the same page, to gather and chat. doesnt mean that people shouldnt be there if they cannot day trade.
i too received priv messages, and some here out in the open thanking me for my views and posting what i did.
as far as people venting......thats a good thing, hence why i started the skype chats to begin with!!!!! jeez. i no longer host any skype rooms, and im rarely on chatting anyway. no one should feel like they cant express themselves, and ive stressed this with everyone.
Holocaust....Speak your mind SB, no matter what, never good to keep your thoughts tied up!

I hope everybody is doing good!
I went back and read Bob's deleted post... almost restored it because it was so innocuous, but didn't as Bob did remove it. I don't see any attacks against anyone, only an honest discussion of the history here which most want to sweep under the rug and forget.
Oh and don't feel like the lone ranger when discussing the skype chats. Some of us have not been invited because our past statements were seen as bashing, making us persona-non-grata in the small minds of some. Anything contrary to the party line causes an immediate knee jerk reaction in others. That's just life.
I know several people who would be involved in the chat if they were still day trading qualified, but due to the situation are relegated to the side lines. I'm happy for those who survived the fall and can make those sessions, sad for those who can't.
Hopefully Thomas will keep us apprised of the successes he is enjoying. We all need encouragement these days. More so lately...
First of all, there is no reason to delete your original post. The whole point of a discussion board is to discuss and share. No matter if we all believe the same thing or not as an open debate is good for the mind and soul. I'm happy if you and anyone else is doing well trading I promise. I in no way attacked you or anyone in my post as it appears you have done to me.
Why would you doubt that I wish everyone well? Seriously??? Come on Tom! I'm holding my red EIGH shares like everyone else and I wish us all well. Anyone who knows me or has talked to me knows I meant well. I also in no way insinuated that you had sold your shares. How am I supposed to know what you or anyone else has done? Honestly, I commend anyone that was able to get out with a profit as things started to look grim. I just wish I had done the same. I knew for a fact that EIGH could not pay a dividend with anything other than retained profits and I still held and added on the decline.
After my post I received so many emails and PM's from folks saying thanks for getting that out in the open. People are afraid to question or talk about the past in fear that they will be looked down upon. Here's a quote:
I'm sorry if I offended anyone with my post earlier as it was not my intention. I just have a lot of questions and frustrations with how some things went down. I have so many regrets like many others but what's done is done. I did meet some great people in here and at the Monkinars though...some will be lifelong friends. I do hope you and everyone else continues to post and express their opinions in here or the Den as that is the point of us all being here....to live and learn from each other. Chet
that is great news! what a champ and an inspiration to everyone! (even those of us whom have not met him)
keep in touch if theres anything i can do to help you along you guys are awesome!
t
Thomas, you make me smile
Hubby continues to improve, getting better and better with the help of family and friends. He is the poster child of getting back up and rebuilding what was lost. He does so with grace and courage and ruefully acknowledges my exemplary skills in nagging! Ahhh, to one day be as good at trading! It is coming...SOON! Monk was a tremendous help and gave Rick his confidence back, Jacki has been instrumental in (trying) to keep me on an even keel (and she is doing well herself), and I am lucky to have a guardian angel that you are familiar with who watches out for me, has my best interests at heart and is not afraid to yell at me when I screw up, which is often because I can make up my own rules on how I think things should be and then pout like a two year old when they don't work out! I do very well on paper but can't seem to control my heart rhythm when I'm live. The roaring in my ears makes me press the button too quickly, but I know that once I overcome that, I'll be good to go.
Take care, Thomas. Glad you are doing so well.
Cindy
thanks cindy, i miss jacki! havent heard from her in ages! i do hope she is well
i think somewhere i have her number and im going to have to give her a call sometime soon.
as i said before, im not here to insult anyone or try and put ppl down. im sitting on the same red shares as everyone else....BUT, i prefer to get back up, and rebuild what was lost. i have NOT taken a paycheck from Monks Den, and i am NOT an employee. all the stuff i have been doing has been to help others get traction in their day trading.
due to ihub admin moving the Den here to premium status, many members who were once regulars cannot post at all. many more cancelled subscriptions due to the threats to friends, family, and themselves (me included).
i will still be here posting but i will refrain from mentioning successes. its the natural way of things for folks to get upset and thats never been my goal. obviously if ppl would like to ask in private how things are going, i am willing to share and help out where possible.
if there were more people posting here, i would still be active! between the daily paper trade sessions, and some personal/family things going on....ive been quite busy for much of any posts on ihub.
please do keep in touch cindy, and keep that husband of yours in good spirits too!!!
cheers
thomas
Hello Thomas,
Although I cannot vouch for Chet, I did not interpret his comments as a slur against you or any of the regular Den folks. I simply took his comments to mean HE was moving on from a painful episode in his life and was wishing us all well. Nothing, nothing against you or other regulars in the Den.
From my point of view, WE ALL LOVE YOU!
I say this with all sincerity and appreciation for all you have done and continue to post on Monk's Den. I understand from Jacki how much you have done in the new Den, and I know you are a regular Skype user as well. I am thrilled you are doing well and sharing your knowledge. It is so fun to read about your success. Like everyone else, I am holding all my CDIV shares. It is a painful reminder of the past, but for some reason, I am guardedly optimistic about the future (usually). I know most original Den members no longer post for the same reasons I no longer post, but that doesn't mean I don't follow the board and look for signs of hope, which you enthusiastically offer. I am so thankful for it.
While I understand the frustration of others, I admire your tenacity and perseverance and willingness to share. I'm sure that is one reason why you are so successful. I envy your closeness to Monk as well. How great for you to be able to share the chats with him. I still respect and admire him. I STILL think we have the Den to be thankful for and hope to become a member of the new Den in all due time.
Anyway, I just wanted to write to you to PLEASE, PLEASE keep posting. I was going to send you a private message because I get so tired of the nasty comments of late on Monk's Den, but I figured that you deserve the public accolades and that it is just as easy to ignore the naysayers. You are a very important member of the Den that many of us find instrumental in keeping in touch with. Thanks for all you do, and please keep up the good work. You are loved by many!
Cindy
you got your wish Chet. wont post anything else here trying to help folks
and btw, i still own every single red share of eigh and can prove it. sucks no doubt, but ive spent every day for the past few months helping ppl to rebuild their accounts and get back everything that they are down. some folks chose to realize that loss and put down others that are out helping.
Well not too much... I been playing with SFSH for the last few days... Good swings.
How about you? How goes the recovery?
Well it all depends on who you talk to Tom. 2010 started off great for the Den and the FLD's that is for sure. The problem is so many were relying on them to get into the ETF trading game. Alot of dreams were shattered in 2010 unfortunately! A few folks like myself are in the recovery process but it has been tough. Pretty hard to explain to your spouse how so much money just disappeared. Pretty tough eating crow trying to explain to my kids, friends and family how I messed up and have to go back to a day job. Let alone all the friends and family that were brought into the FLD's along the way as well.
I was lucky though. My family loves me and we are working through the tough times. There were some others that are less fortunate here that lost spouses, houses, cars and every cent to their name. Was this a wise decision to go in so heavy? Absolutely not, but some did and it messed up a lot of lives.
I wish everyone nothing but the best in 2011 and I hope the road to recovery has started for all...time to move on. I'm hoping EIGH pulls a rabit out of the hat because that will help all of us. However, their missed deadlines on Limegrove, poorly written PR's and Facebook comments leave one to doubt.
The only folks that had a good 2010 sold out on the family here which turned out to be a wise decision in the end.....
What's up Don? My Den subscription expired yesterday and I haven't renewed. You trading anything good at all?
Hi Rick,
How did you survive theweather this year?
You're not so bad yourself Connie!
Too funny. Only a CLOWN could make that claim!
That was my one post for the day. I can't reply.
I beg your pardon?
Janice Shell said there is no such thing as hackers.
they will need more than just that to blame stuff on! but it may be the start
I have a motive for ya.... the feds need to blame someone for the mess they've gotten this country into. Evil boogieman "hackers" just might provide a perfect scape-goat and while their at it they can throw that Internet kill-switch. That ought to scare a lot of people into submission. Get your shorts ready.....
then youre smarter than the fed officials!
booyah buddy!
Nice post maxell. I haven't had a chance to join the chat yet but a agree with everything you say.
Thanks for sharing...good stuff!!!
interesting rick, thanks for sharing!
Bill,
Keep an eye on QPSA (I've been pimping it and playhing it for almost a year now...LOL). Sweet chart...52 week highs consistently. Great turnaround story. The only publicly traded social media play. With Linked-In going public, QPSA is getting some serious love.
This will be bought out by Facebook or other large social media player to get the Latin American vertical market. In the meantime, it's great to trade...every time the 10MA hits the 20MA presents great swing trade opportunities.
Rick
very cool man, well done!
CPST was a nice swing on the daily. Been eyeing some 52 week high plays and $5-10 stocks for nice swings/day flips. Live trading is so awesome!
my goodness there are some BEAUUUUTFUL profit making opportunities out there today! BLAMMO!
what a beautiful friday its been so far! BANKING on the swings baby wooooooooooooo
I posted this in the Advanced Forum but thought I'd put it here also. Just some thoughts on the daily chat sessions.
I was responding to a poster who had a red day trading and had not yet used what I consider the best part of Monks Den : The daily trading Chat!
A few days spent in the basic Chat sessions would do wonders for you! If that was real $ today you would have lost enough to pay for a full month of chat every day for a full month. A few days with Tom and Jerry can get you up to speed and give you the discipline you need and green days. Trying to figure out what you're doing wrong on your own can get expensive and frustrating. Once your confidence is gone the descision making goes downhill fast.
I've been trying to get in on as many chat sessions as I can. I consider it the " the cost of doing business" and my business will be daytrading fulltime very shortly.
On paper ( using a base of $40,000 ) I am up almost $5000 in the last week including Tuesdays afternoon snoozefest. It was a slow go but I had $700 by 1 PM and was content. This is me being very conservative and being as realistic as I possibly can be.
I spent $65 to be in 3 basic and 2 advanced chats.
I'm up $4800.00
I've learned a few things that I will be using for the REST OF MY LIFE making $$$ trading.
I'd say that is one hell of a return on my investment and I have a blast being surrounded by good people doing what I'm doing.
Sorry for the sermon I just feel these chats are to good to be missed and will continue being there in them as often as I can.
You poor guy. I'm so glad we only got rain this time. There's no where left to put more snow here.
I could not live in a place where that occurred with any frequency...
I woke up to 18" of snow! I had to push the drift to get out my front door.
Well no, he woke to clouds and rain today... Weeeeeeeeee
Did Baxter see his shadow?
where do you do it live bob , i'd like to watch : )
Hope everyone has a great "Woodchuck Day"...
