Ð.....Looking for an old post and I can't believe I've never posted about this company. $UFPI.
Started buying during Covid when building materials were becoming hard to find. First buy at $59 in Oct. 2020. Added more in in both 2020, and 2021 again around the same price.
Anyway, currently $111 and news today!

Ð....I bought some FLEX this morning. Currently $25.55 and near support levels. I think $34 or so is a nice short term goal.
Seems fairly cheap here, although I'm not thrilled it's a Chinese company. I tend to question their bookkeeping skills.
My internet has been down for a couple of days and it makes me sick to realize how dependent we have all become on quick response information. Long gone are the days of "the check is in the mail" or "I can't come to the phone right now as I'm on the golf course".
Is this age of demanding immediate responses a good thing? IS IT????
The whole point of texting was that you didn't want to talk to that person right now, but they can leave you information and you'll get back to them later. Can't tell you how many times people have got ticked with me because I didn't immediately respond. WELL, I'm old school! I try not to carry my phone with me everywhere. People don't believe me when I say I don't have my phone with me. They can't tell me when my table is ready or to check in now.
It bugs the heck out of me that I now have no choice, but to take my phone to ballgames. When you have your phone, you check it regularly and now I'm missing plays in the game.
I want to be on the golf course or at a baseball game without interruption. Those are supposed to be my escapes.
OK. Rant over.
Ð....I found this interesting this morning and makes me feel as if I should shift some of my cash to short term high quality bonds right now...
Rising yields on safest debt threaten to cannibalize junk demand:
Global high-grade notes saw yields climb to 4.4% this month for the first time since the global financial crisis, fueled by fears that interest rates may stay higher for longer. But the yield on junk-rated bonds aren’t anywhere near their historical highs, a sign that the prospects of economic troubles and the shaky outlook for borrowers aren’t being priced in. And so the yield gap between the two asset classes is about 500 basis points, less than half the spread in early 2020. That not only raises concern junk bonds aren’t compensating investors for the risks ahead, it also boosts the case for buying investment-grade notes, especially given the profit warnings that some companies sounded this earnings season. “We think investment grade is pricing in the risk of recession but we’re not there yet in high-yield,” said Barnaby Martin, a credit strategist at Bank of America. Ð....I notice I have $ZTS in my stock portfolio. I don't see where I've ever recommended it here, but nonetheless, it has broken support today and I'm selling and waiting for a bounce back.
I've bought it a few times with good success, but this last one at $170. Watched it go to $195 shortly after, but held. Currently $165.
edit: didn't realize I first bought so long ago. So this was my first buy on it. Did quite well....

Ð....Found a very interesting stock. The symbol is $ZTS, currently trading at $49.69. They are a spinoff from Pfizer and make medicine for pets. The P/E is a bit high, but earnings projections are strong.
This one may be a very nice long term hold. Pays a small dividend too.
Stop loss at $40.50.
JMO, of course.
Ð....I get accused all the time around here of being "shorty". For whatever reason I've never shorted a stock or the market, even though I can clearly see in advance the market (or the stock) are getting ready to tumble.
A bear market is much quicker than a bull one and you typically can get in and out pretty quickly.
It's weird because I play the "don't come" on the Craps tables....and it's basically the same thing. Only I don't have to look at anyone rolling the dice here.
Maybe I just don't do it so I can always claim to have never shorted.....what the heck do I care what most of you think?
I wish there was a way to track the honest investor percentage on IHUB. Surely there is a statistical way to track poster's percentages of being right and what their story changed to after the fact? I need to hire on a smart 16 year old.

Ð.....Just bought something that may be very stupid...well actually just bought two things that might be stupid.
Bought some shares in BA, as it looks like the government is buying corporate bonds to save companies.
Also bought RAD. The company with the possibly the worst officers in the history of ever.

Ð....I went down to Austin recently to meet with the CEO of an electric vehicle company. I figured I probably could use some direct exposure to one of these companies. He had a good story.
Well, bad move. The CEO decided to take his company in another direction (with my money apparently), and I'm down 58% in less than 3 months.
I didn't give him enough money to hurt me, but it was a reminder that I don't need to be doing that stuff.

Ð.....So now I'm back up again in $GOOG for this round. I was supposed to add more when it got back above $105. Guess I should spend less time trying to teach common sense to penny stock mullets and more time to my own stuff.

THE SHORTS ARE WINNING
Stocks in the large-cap Russell 1,000®
were down an average of roughly 9.5% from the
stock market’s 2023 high on July 31 through
the close on 9/27, but the 100 most heavily
shorted stocks (as a percentage of float) were
down nearly double that at -18.1%.

RETIREMENT PROBLEMS
While most Americans will cite inadequate
savings as a concern for their future retirement,
a recent survey found that for recent retirees
currently struggling in their retirement, other
issues like a loss of identity (53%), lack of
routine (32%), lack of friends (24%), lack of
community (18%) and watching too much TV
(12%) all ranked ahead of financial difficulties
(10%) in causing problems.

SHUT IT DOWN
Since 1990, there have been six partial or
full federal government shutdowns in the
US. While the length and depth of these
shutdowns varied, their impact on the
stock market has been negligible. From the
month before each shutdown started to one
month after it ended, the S&P 500’s median
performance in these six periods was a gain of
5.5% with positive returns five times.

Ð....$AMZN has hit the second support line and I'd expect it to move up from here. I currently own 450 shares, but I think I'll add some here.

but the Russell 2000 is looking ugly and $VTI looks headed the same direction.
Hate to mention politics, but I hope anyone reading here is taking note.
Ð....Once again, happy I sold some of my $MSFT when I did. Was expecting it to get to $300, but so far, it has only dropped to $309.
Did I miss my opportunity, or perhaps a pullback next week getting close. I guess I could choose not to be too greedy and buy back today, but I'm going to wait and see.
Well, that was a fun win! Now, rinse, repeat!
I've got a nice bet on the Rangers to win the A.L. that I made at the beginning of the season. That would be lovely.
Go Rangers!.....come to think of it. I use to root for the yankees to jinx them. What am I thinking?
Ð....Since I sold my $TSLA, I've waited for chances to re-buy and the company keeps giving me new opportunities, but I just can't trust Musk to not piss everyone off.
That along with seeing other electric car companies like $RIVN and $HYLN not growing, makes me wonder if I should just avoid them all.
I've recently bought $GM and $F because they are obviously headed toward all electric, but they are laying off workers now. At least with those I'm collecting a dividend.
I'm thinking wrong industry, wrong timing. Guess no new TSLA for me at the moment.
Ð.....Looks like $XOM is getting ready to make another leg upward. While this is nice for those like myself who own a fair share of XOM, it does not bode well for gas and oil prices in the near future.
(fwiw), I think a pullback to $107 is likely first though.
Currently $115.88. I guess a stop loss right now would be $106.
So you could have been Mark Zuckerberg??
What would you have called your company?
I wealthy man once told me, it's not enough to have a good idea, you must have the means available to make it happen, and the courage to do it.
You should have first invented GoFundMe.
I understand what you say is accurate "after the fact" for a company that had a viable product to bring to market.
These "new" companies start as an idea, but have no support from any established company, especially no availability for financial assistance except the market of penny stocks where manipulators lie in wait to pounce.
There are a few places that will analyze a new or better mouse trap idea, but acceptance is low and carries I'm sure certain conditions where control and ownership is diluted for the one asking for help.
For example, back when BobZ had his newly created Talkzilla web site that had extremely poor design and scope characteristics, I contacted Bob about a web site idea I developed "in my head" that would in a span of a few years have Facebook or Twitter offer a buyout of it in the amount of a billion dollars. But Bob was so drunk on his acceptance that he is the best and brightest for web site design and execution that he "laughed" in so many words that one like me has a better ability and vision for such things than he, this as it was obvious he totally failed as a creator of ideas and design.
For sure I should have contacted Meatloaf, but he was well situated and comfortable where he was, not wanting any disruptions to lead him astray from what was a solid and risk free existence.

Ð.....It has been a long time since I've considered selling off some $MSFT.
Right now I'm up a tad over $400k profit in it.....fortunately, a lot in my IRA.
I'm up close to 200%....do I sell off my cost basis?? Currently at $326.
Hmmmmmm...decisions for the day.
Their next quarter should be a raise in dividend.
edit: well that's done. Hope to buy it back around $300
the failure of most are not caused by manipulation but simple poor management.
Even if 99% of penny stocks are manipulated, and 99% of penny stocks fail, the failure of most are not caused by manipulation but simple poor management.
Do pickles need to be involved in "pickling"? Do pickled beets have any pickles in it?
Shouldn't pickles be labeled as "pickled cucumbers"?
Your Venn diagram is nice, but the penny stock circle goes to far out of the manipulation circle.
What percentage of penny stocks would you say are manipulated??
I'd guess at 99.8%, and that may be optimistic.
Picklegate (pickle-spear-acy)
For a cucumber to meet the legal requirements of being a pickle,
it first must be made “entirely or predominantly from cucumbers.”
The word “pickle” on the jar label is not required for it to be legally considered a pickle,
since, thanks to the transparent glass jar, “the nature of the food is obvious.”
The word Scam is not required on IH's Penny Boards since “the nature of the trading posts are obvious.”
It's pretty sad when I come across stuff like this...
Going back as far as 2010 on here I was trying to explain to people why you should distrust hedge funds and wake up to the fact your penny stock is a scam.

There is no doubt that hedge funds and new rules have made the field uneven. There is no doubt that eliminating the uptick rule has made it easier to manipulate the market. There is no doubt that screwing with the Glass Steagal Act has caused the market to swing wildly......and there is no doubt that none of these things have anything whatsoever to do with CMKX. When are you folks gonna face facts that this is nothing more than a group of scammers who printed up shares whenever they needed money, then paid people to post on website that it's all the governments fault? If you don't admit to this, then you are either EXTREMELY stupid, or one who was paid to post. Which one are you?

Question for Doug...
"...would you want to be alive to see the end of the world?"
I give myself 2 more years when I turn 80,
but the world will be like it's today.
The world in 25-50 years will be in chaos,
so derfie might see the beginning of "end of the world",
but not the final judgement when there is no law,
just people using force, not sanity, to collect water and food.
Folks like Susie will be the first to be eliminated.
