Through October, the 10% of stocks in the large-cap Russell 1,000® that were down the
most in 2022 were up an average of 11.4% in 2023 on a year-to-date (YTD) basis. That
compares to an average YTD decline of 1.86% for the remaining 90% of stocks in the index.
Of the 100 worst performing Russell 1,000® stocks in 2022, eight were up more than 100%
YTD through October.
