When my son went into the military I got a lesson very quickly on how it's time for him to be an adult.
People sending their kids off, but still doing everything for them is madness.
I fear for our future.....if we actually get there.
Question for you....would you want to be alive to see the end of the world?
Parents pay strangers to hug their [away at] college kids.

Ð.....$TPL is on the run again. May need to take some of my MSFT gains and add to my TPL position.
Stock currently at $1822. Support at $1699.
Ð.....It has been a long time since I've considered selling off some $MSFT.
Right now I'm up a tad over $400k profit in it.....fortunately, a lot in my IRA.
I'm up close to 200%....do I sell off my cost basis?? Currently at $326.
Hmmmmmm...decisions for the day.
Their next quarter should be a raise in dividend.
edit: well that's done. Hope to buy it back around $300
Are you new to IHUB?
In the past I've bought a membership for a good stock picker. I can't remember the last time I've seen someone deserving.
I guess we could use some humor here. It's been a while.
Ð....INTC is on the move. First support was around $33, but I'm going to wait to add some if it breaks through $41.50 or so. Currently $36.71
Just so long that you can ban folks, you might obtains some good "Free" folks here.
Shelly is suggesting I can move this board to the "free zone". I can't think of one single positive of allowing more dumb people to post here.
Can you?
Paid pump and dumpers.....for those who deny..
Ð......Man, $MSI is about to jump, Currently $283. I see $300 in it's very short future.
JMO, of course.
Aldi? The nasty grocery store? I went in one once.......just once.
I know a guy in the grocery biz who swears its a front for the Mexican mafia.
Do you have an Aldi to buy stuff?

WOW.....without the pedals?
I've honestly never understood why the '56 Chevy was considered such a collector's car. I always thought it was ugly.
Dad should have given you a T Bird.
Ð.....I just bought some STNE @ $12.40 Found an article that the future new guy in charge of Berkshire Hathaway is buying it, and it looks good to me here.
FP/E of around 15.
It is sitting pretty much flat dab on the support line, so will know fairly quickly if it's a good hold. Price target right now around $28
JMO, of course.
Ð.....Seems like $V might be a smart pick up here. Very late to the game, but higher fees mean a lot more profit potential.
I've had Millenials tell me it's so much tougher to afford a house now. These are the first reasons I've seen that their complaints may have merit...
I'd love to know the numbers for the avg. IHUBber...
LOL....no advice, but I may be right behind you.
There's gotta be a better investment site out there.
Good luck!
Hey Fung, I suspect I am about to get kicked out of here by Shelly and wanted to thank you for the many years of stimulating thoughtful conversations. In other news I think I am a lesbian stuck in a man’s body. Don’t know what to do ? Any departing wisdom for me ?
LOL....you're probably right, and I should be loading up on the water purifiers.
Fortunately, the neighborhood is "flooded" {pun} with swimming pools.
Guess maybe I should be buying guns as well. I may be the only person in Texas without one.
Our lakes and ponds are drying. Having a water filter doesn't do much good if there's no water to filter.
Hoarding propane may one day be a good idea.
It certainly ain't gold or crypto or GME stock.
I do have a 28000 gallon swimming pool, so I guess I do have water for a while. The crazy thing is right now, about 2 inches per day evaporates.
"We all need to hoard something...
... current guess is water
... 30 years of food"
While food is available now in unlimited quantities,
while not cheap,
it will seem cheap later if the current economy crashes,
along with food shortages.
30 years of food is doable using food with all water removed.
But I'm guessing it's only stable 5 - 10 years today.
As for "current guess is water"
is better stated as "current guess is clean water"
but that can't be obtained as "30 years of clean water."
But unclean (dirty bacteria etc) water will always be available.
Here just need to stockpile those devices that filter out the bad stuff.
They are cheap as they filter large quantities of water.
Ð....Following up on my recommendation for $DE. It hasn't worked. Broke support this week and my fear is that the next support is around $339 (currently $393).
Long term still looks good, but can't decide today whether to sell and wait for lower prices or hang in for the dividend (which isn't all that great at 1.3%).
Could I have possibly been wrong about this being an AI play?
Ð....I've lost count as to how many times a trigger prefix has made a group of stocks go crazy. Let's see, there was "semi", "bio", "micro", "com", "tele"....I'm sure I've forgotten a few. The newest one is "AI". Throw AI into a name and the stock goes crazy right now.
If I was really smart, I'd figure out what the next new word will be and buy it up in advance. It's akin to the days everyone was predicting and buying up domain names.
Ð.....For the life of me, I can't figure out how Shanghai Index is doing worse than the S&P?
I wonder if our government is still giving away money in a form I haven't yet found?
Inflation lately has gotten so crazy it's even affecting me!
For the first time in many years, I'm starting to wonder if it is possible the spousal_unit one day runs out of money.
I had a talk with my golf instructor yesterday, he told me he was on target to have $1 million at his retirement age. I had to break the bad news to him.
Here's the reality, in 30 years, I can't tell if a million dollars will be the same as a million pesos, or the market implodes so badly, we have a new currency, due to Wall Street totally failing and our million was reduced at a 10 for 1 basis.
Either way, I just can't see the current economy continuing as is.
We all need to hoard something, just not sure what. My current guess is
1) water
2) rare earth
Nahhhhh, he hacks people's accounts to know who everyone is.
Just a typical penny stock mullet who thinks they are smarter than they are.
Really odd when I suggest people read my history, and STILL totally get it wrong.
Paulie Cashews ?
Someone on another board accused you and I of being the same person. Thoughts?
"The world now rewards you for your debt."
or,
"The banks thanks you for your debt."
The average credit card interest rate in America today is 24%
The average savings account earns 0.40% APY, and CDs earn 0.26% to 1.37% APY.
Like you mentioned, banks make their big money keeping folks in debt that can't service.
I am a big believer in the Dave Ramsey method of building wealth. However, one thing I adamantly disagree with is his claim your credit score doesn't matter. Today when even employers are checking your credit score before hiring you and at early stages in your career, your credit rating makes a huge difference in your life, suggesting to just pay cash for everything isn't realistic.
With that said, I think the credit scores are now a scam. How in the world does having debt equal a higher score? The credit companies have no clue as to your wealth, only your debt. The day I decided to pay cash for my house and pay off my car loans, my credit score dropped fairly drastically. The world now rewards you for your debt. Maybe it's the government just going on the misery loves company theory?
Ð.....I went into my bank the other day and was told they had a special running for CD's. 4.75% interest for a 3 month CD. That sounded interesting to me so I asked about the catch. The catch was after that, the 1 year rate (which I'd get locked into) was .15%. I don't know how banks are getting away with this. If you buy a new home or car right now, you're paying above 7% (I think), but they're still paying you .15 when you loan them your money?
FWIW, I did find some other CD's above 5% for one year. Funny how 30 years ago, we would have spit on a 5% interest, but now it sounds great. The sad thing is that still far below the inflation rate.
OK gotmilk....this may be construed as political....
Was up in DC for a couple days, was pretty surprised by how much Pro-Trump stuff is for sale on the street in front of the White House.
I can't fathom how bad our political system is about to get in the future.
I was speaking to a group recently about what it takes to put a corp back on track. There are two ways....either you have one very strong leader who takes control and gets things done himself, or you have one very savvy one, who understands how to create a group that can direct themselves towards a common goal.
I fear our government has neither.
Ð.....I had recommended ODFL a few months back at $348 (4/21/23). Target was around $440. I missed $430, but will take the current $404 and run. There may be a bit more room left in it, but that's OK....I think.
Every time I hear a commercial for companies telling you they can get you relief from your credit card debt through credit card forgiveness, it ticks me off.
Looking at the chart of SLV going back to the beginning in 2006, it was $14. Today it's $20.84. I'd classify that as a pretty terrible investment, especially considering no dividend.
August of 2020 it was $27.30.
Credit card debt for Americans has hit $1 trillion.
Most likely lots of penny buyers.

"copper seems to be"
What's the story for physical silver ?
A person I know brought physical (coins) silver these ten years prior.
Average $22/ounce.
He is waiting for $200/ounce.
Google: Will silver hit $100?
"Could the Silver Price Really Hit US$100 per Ounce? (Updated ...
Many experts in the space expect silver to perform strongly in the years to come,
but don't necessarily see it reaching US$100 or more, especially given the current macroeconomic conditions."
Ð....Much like playing craps, it hurts, even during a big hot streak when you roll a 7 and crap out.
$SMCI getting hammered today. I bought the stock at $37 and it's currently $273, but its down $74 today. Support is way down around $156.
A similar situation with $AAPL lately. Bought most around $124, currently $177, but falling from a high of near $200 and support is down around $165.
I've taken out my cost basis on these and so many others, but still hurts watching net worth fly away.
Ð....Started buying some $SCCO. Might be a tad early as we may see a bit of pullback, but copper seems to be in need in the future for electric vehicles, and I like the dividend while waiting.
I found this interesting....and concerning
That's funny. I went to a Jack in the Box yesterday and had to laugh at how my burger looked nothing like the picture.
The truth right now is, these chains can't get anyone to work there and are just thrilled when someone actually shows up for their shift.
Never in the history of man has the little guy had as much power as they do today.....well maybe after the French Revolution.
