13-week treasury bills jump to 5.26% yield, the year's high.
That is new to me but I think I'll pass. Not sure about the cucumber.
https://www.hendricksgin.com/us/
I prefer Tankqueray for G&Ts and martinis extra dry ice cold with a twist of lemon.
But summer time I'll switch off to rum and tonics.
Can't have enough fresh limes on hand.
Hendrick's is my favorite.
But the cucumber slice is an affectation to appear sophisticated for the US market.
Yes, there're also yellow sapphires. But most people--including the ones who designed the Bombay Sapphire bottle--think of the blue ones...
Because sapphire comes in many colors.....one being this color:
https://allsapphires.com/gems/sapphire/gray-sapphire/
There is also the meaning behind the word sapphire
:)
But it'd be PRETTY!! And why's it called Bombay Sapphire if it isn't blue??
If Gin were ever blue..throw it down the sink.
I like Bombay Blue Sapphire...
I think it's disappointing, because only the bottle is blue.
I like Bombay Blue Sapphire and used to drink Tanqueray before that in GnTs, butt DaSquaw and I are seldom alcohol drinkers. As a result, it can take us YEARS to finish a bottle of gin. That is how I learnt that gin can go badd over time - loses alcohol and some of the flavor chemicals gett oxidized and taste horrible. There is still a bottle of Blue Sapphire I bought several YEARS ago and have stored in the freezer - haven't opened it since at least the Caldor Fire when Phildo stayed over (late summer 2021). It was OK then, butt I have little hope that it is still drinkable now.
It is a large bottle at least half empty post-Phildo, which means half air at 21 percent oxygen. I did seal the top with ParaFilm so there is minimal alcohol evaporation, butt even in a freezer the oxidation of flavor chemicals will proceed, only slower. If I had a tank of nitrogen or argon I would have sparged the bottle to remove the air before sealing it, butt I no longer have access to such gas cylinders. I might have tried dropping in a small piece of dry ice to sublimate and remove the air displacing it with CO2, butt too much hassle.
We drink so little booze that we have had UNOPENED bottles show significant evaporation over years (these were bottles of booze gifted to us), butt they were nott wrapped with ParaFilm nor stored in a freezer.
Never had Boodles to my knowledge, butt recall positive comments about it. DaSquaw has been at the Kolkhoz for coming up on 7 years now, and when I am here at the Hacienda or the Estancia I do nott entertain folks who are cocktail drinkers - beers, butt not mixed drinks. Phildo was the only exception that I can recall. I generally give new booze gifts to DaSun and his housremates now. I gett bunches of booze gifts every Christmas from professional frenns and acquaintances/clients. Now they go straight to DaSun and his bros.
Right now i m finishing my second ever bottle of MexiCoke. This bottle is as good as the last one, so MexiCoke is my new sugared Coke (which I drink mebbe 6 times a year, so I can splurge on the more expensive MexiCoke when I do)..
Boodles Gin will..just add lime for taste twist "effect"..also a cuke' slice :)
Just don't drink Tanqueray...it's poison. Tastes like shite' as well.

I have no idea what you are talking about now and how malaria and dementia applies.
My original post which was not to you was pretty innocuous.

Liz's perp farewell is all over TV now.
No prob. CONfusing malaria and scurvy is nott necessarily a sign of dementia, it can simply reflect an underlying lack of knowledge.
Assuming it is the latter, my posts will remedy that.
The fact is that tonic water will treat or prevent only one medical CONdition, with one proviso which follows, and that condition is thirst/dehydration. The proviso is that sugared tonic water can provide calories, if needed for maintaining an adequate calorie intake, butt it is badd generally if one is diabetic and seeking to CONtrol blood glucose. Diabetics should prolly drink only artificially sweetened sugar-free tonic water.
Tonic water CONtains no vitamins, minerals, proteins, fats, or complex carbohydrates.
Tonic water is really just water with an inCONseuential amount of quinine and either a bunch of sugars or artificial sweetener to cutt the bitterness of the alkaloid quinine, as it is bitter even at this very sub-therapeutic level found in commercial tonic water (e.g., Schweppes)..
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quinine
Oh, and here is your complete sentence;
"The nice thing about drinking tonic water is you will never come down with scurvy."
Especially? So you think in non-special cases tonic water can prevent scurvy in the absence of added lime juice?
Tonic water has NO vitamin C. The "tonic" refers to quinine, which in MUCH higher doses can sometimes be used to prevent or treat some forms of malaria. Tonic water has nothing to do with scurvy.
"Especially if" = LOLOL .
Hay, water is good at preventing scurvy especially if you add lime juice.
Coke too (Mexican or USA type).
Oh, and here is your complete sentence;
"The nice thing about drinking tonic water is you will never come down with scurvy."
Butt did they allow her to bring tonic water for birth control and acne treatment?
I would nott want her to gett beri-beri or night blindness while in DaHole.
Especially if you include a squeeze of lime with your tank and tonic.
It was posted on CNBC.
https://www.cnbc.com/2023/05/30/elizabeth-holmes-set-to-report-to-prison-on-tuesday.html
She turned herself in on time.
What she does while in jail I'm not interested in as some others are.
"That said she met the deadline contrary to what you thought."
??? Please quote what you claim "I thought".
Shirley you did nott misread this - or did you???
"She should report before 11::00AM local time to make shure she is processed today. Otherwise she risks spending the night in holding cell if they cannot complete the in-processing by EOD. Then she will still be in an isolation cell until they complete her medical and psych evaluations. Butt the isolation cells can be different from a holding cell, which may just be a cage with toilet and seating - no mattress and no privacy..
This is standard advice for all BOP self-surrenders. Self-surrenders are processed on a first-come basis, to be safe 9:00AM is a better choice in case there are many other self-surrenders that day and they show up before you do.
"You seem to have experience as to how incarceration works. "
If this is intended to imply that tI have served prison time, well you silly ole boy! I have been in prisons, butt nott as an inmate or CO.
Butt if I were, I would axe for tonic water to protect me from pellagra and rickets..Possibly athletes' foot and toe fungus too, butt those are off-label uses.
You seem to have experience as to how incarceration works.
That said she met the deadline contrary to what you thought.
"The nice thing about drinking tonic water is you will never come down with scurvy"
Tonic water does nott contain any vitamin C. Only added lime juice if one does add such.
And the mount of quinine in tonic water is insufficient to prevent or treat malaria, which was the "tonic" in the tonic water - and this was even back before the predominant strains of Plasmodium, e.g., falciparum, vivax, etc.) were chloroquine-resistant, which is the case today.
The amount of quinine in tonic water is nott therapeutically or prophylactically useful even for Plasmodium strains which are still quinine-responsive (of which there aren't that many anymore anyway). One would need to drink tens of gallons (or more) to get into the therapeutic/prophylactic range, and all that peeing would also leach~OUTT the quinine, making the exercise counterproductive.
US CDC Recommendations: 542 mg base (650 mg sulfate salt) orally 3 times a day for 3 or 7 days (OK, so this is more like hunnerts of gallons of Schweppes tonic water).
https://www.cdc.gov/malaria/resources/pdf/Malaria_Treatment_Guidelines.pdf
scurvy .NE. malaria
The truly good nooz is that FCI-Bryan (TX) does nott sell tonic water in the commissary AND malaria is not endemic in Bryan, TX. So, Lizzy will nott need to worry about malaria or blackwater fever.
Cool trick: use a UV light in a dark room nd shine it on bottle of tonic water - the quinine will fluoresce.
Liz has been looking more than a little "hippie" lately. This shot from NYT seems to be her entering "da hole."

Thanks, I thought 2:00 PM played a role somehow, but couldn't find that time mentioned online today. .
Wonder if they'll all be holding hands as we've seen before.

As I wrote, it is best to surrender in the morning, so you will at least have a mattress to sleep on the first night and not a hard holding cell bench.
U.S. District Judge Edward Davila ordered Holmes to surrender no later than 2 p.m. local time Tuesday at a minimum-security facility in Bryan, Texas.
A bunch of posturing by both sides.
It would be a sad day if people allowed AI to think for them.

It will take daze to weeks before she shows up in the inmate locator as being in custody.
What will be her first prison tat? An image of a Nanotainer?
It is a good idea to get one last decent breakfast before hittin DaHole and dealing wiff powdered eggs and 99cent/loaf toaster bread
"Awlright, that was a good breakfast. Now take me to jail."
So why hasn't she shown up there yet? Is there perhaps a celebrity entrance?

I think I just realized that everything we are talking about is a southern product. I am talking about coca cola, pepsi, dr pepper, mt dew, nehi, double cola, cheerwine, royal crown, mr pibb...etc...etc..etc...
All "created and originally manufactured"..... in the south.
See the pattern? Northerners just can't cut it :)
Speaking of Dr. Pepper, someone recently sent me this link:
It's Tanq and Tonic. If you call Tanqueray "tank", then you're ruining good gin...
I'd say that's the same in the mid-Atlantic states. I've never used "soda" or "pop". I'm more likely to say "Coke" or "Pepsi". Or "Dr Pepper". I don't think I've ever gone further afield than that, except for root beer when I was a kid.
And as you note, if a generic name is needed, "soft drink" will work.
The nice thing about drinking tonic water is you will never come down with scurvy. Especially if you include a squeeze of lime with your tank and tonic.
And the tonic must be Schweppes.
https://www.schweppesus.com/
You don't want to ruin good gin.
The 6 1/2 ounce glass bottles used to slide right down. There was a vending machine and a wooden box near it to put the empties.
The other day I saw Peeps flavored Pepsi at the grocery store.
I have no idea what these marketing geniuses are thinking of.
Thanks I'm familiar with the Mets and the timeline.

More reasons Walgreens is closing SF stores.
"The problem this time around is another instance of one of the company's bugbears over the last few years: legal settlements pertaining to its filling of opioid drug prescriptions. The latest piece of bad news is that Walgreens agreed on May 17 to a $230 million settlement with the city of San Francisco, which was suing it for lack of sufficient due diligence when it filled prescriptions for opioid medications."

Stock Dilution Scam:
A share dilution scam happens when a company, typically traded in unregulated markets such as the OTC Bulletin Board and the Pink Sheets, repeatedly issues a massive amount of shares into the market for no reason, considerably devaluing share prices until they become almost worthless, causing huge losses to shareholders. Then, after share prices are at or near the minimum price a stock can trade and the share float has increased to an unsustainable level, those fraudulent companies tend to reverse split and continue repeating the same scheme.
Pump and Dump Schemes:
"Pump and dump" schemes, also known as "hype and dump manipulation," involve the touting of a company's stock (typically microcap companies) through false and misleading statements to the marketplace. After pumping the stock, fraudsters make huge profits by selling their cheap stock into the market.
Pump and dump schemes often occur on the Internet where it is common to see messages posted that urge readers to buy a stock quickly or to sell before the price goes down, or a telemarketer will call using the same sort of pitch. Often the promoters will claim to have "inside" information about an impending development or to use an "infallible" combination of economic and stock market data to pick stocks. In reality, they may be company insiders or paid promoters who stand to gain by selling their shares after the stock price is "pumped" up by the buying frenzy they create. Once these fraudsters "dump" their shares and stop hyping the stock, the price typically falls, and investors lose their money.
http://www.sec.gov/answers/pumpdump.htm
The key is understanding
The key is understanding that pink sheet stocks are not investments - 99% of them will lose value over the long run and never accomplish most of their forward looking pumping statements they put in press releases or on their websites. Never believe the hype - always be skeptical of everything you hear.
The people mostly making money with pink sheet stocks are promoters, front loading pumpers with big followings they can dump on, crooks, some of the flippers, and sometimes the very lucky.
Pumpers only tell you to buy stocks that they already own. Pumpers only tell you to hold stocks because they want to make sure you hold longer than them.
They make money by pumping the stock and getting other people to buy then dumping their shares on the followers.
If you really want to take the risk of trying to make money trading pink sheet companies then you have to understand how the game works and never ever hold long term - take profits when you can. Pump and Dumps dominate the IHUB forums.
Trading pink sheet stocks is a sick game full of lies and deceit where people take advantage of the inexperienced and naive stealing away their life savings for their own personal gains.
Very little respect or morals exist in stinky pinky land.
