In many good restaurants, you get an “amuse bouche” when you sit down to light up your taste buds. The introduction of Sovaldi was an “amuse bouche”, the main course is Sovaldi plus Ledipasvir. Or to forget analogies and get down to the nitty gritty, as long as Sovaldi requires interferon and ribavirin, many will wait, for while not as bad as telaprevir, interferon and ribavirin alone or in combination can be quite nasty.

GILD—March [Sovaldi] trx and nrx numbers are not growing. Earnings in early May. Given all this-ER and trx/nrx trend-how will this affect gild stock price in April as we head towards Q1 ER? Looking at March stock price of gild, I am very concern. Market does not seem to be impress with sovaldi trx/nrx weekly numbers. I purchased gild@$82 in Feb. and looking to exit.

I sense your frustration and I think part of it stems from the nature of this venue, where most posters and readers tend toward longer holding periods than a month or two. For GILD, specifically, there are arguments about valuation that can’t be settled today, next week, or even in May (when 1Q14 results are reported). In other words, there are no simple yet compelling answers to your questions.
