I heard about the 420 reference back in 1979 when I was in San Diego... I was 17 years old and heard about it on the beach. Never knew it was police code... I just heard some surfer dudes talking about 420 and getting stoned.

Not correct man....

420 was from a university back in the 70's where they would always find themselves smoking around 4:20..... Not police code... LOL.
