i feel the movement for Pan-Islamic Unity is quite strong and can happen but a well organized force is out to create a civil war.

If actually identified, that will be the smokin' gun as to who is really trying to start a civil war.
In terms of Zarqawi, i really have major doubt he is operating or is even alive.
He vanished my radar since the bombings in Jordan.
We know Laden and Zawahiri are calling for Pan-Islamic unity now stating muslims must not kill muslims.
But this item just is the modus operandi of fanatic Jihadists so extreme in there fundamentalism, they view Shi'ites as evil, and to be killed.

I know only of one man that has in the past led such a group in Iraq, and that is Zarqawi.
I read a report that at most the Jihadist of this extremist group amount to no more than 2% of insurgents/resister whatever, in Iraq.
But that the hardcore Baathist, use them, for ordinance.
We have a slick commando raid at Askariyah, but are having a rash of suicide bombers in its wake.
This would support Sadr's view this is the Baathist/hyperfanatic(i want to blow up Shi'ites to earn Allahs love).
But it seems incredible that Zarqawi could still be alive, everybody BUT the hardcore Baathist, want him dead.
I will state this, when you have suicide bombers blow-up Shi'ites in Iraq, you have hyper fanatic "looney land" Salafist.
This kind of "i kaboom myself to kill Shi'ites", is not operated by Laden nor Zawahiri.
And they are not Freedom Fighters martyring themselves to overthrow oppression, or attack the West.
So who are they, and who is operating them, these blokes have to have a protection from to move through Iraq and remain alive.
One thing i keep buried away in my archives is to not forget that what was called Ansar al Islam, and was where Zarqawi had his little nest, was a super fanatic salafist group of Kurdish Seperatists----puzzles, o my, puzzles:)
One last remark, i have not ruled out that a third party, such as the Delta Force as a super secret alliance with Sunni Baathist(who operate the Jihadist).
What possible motive? Only that there is an absolutely demented drive to get a Secular Allawist type government establihed in Iraq, in other words, Bush and the neo-cons will have THEIR PUPPET IRAQ, or no Iraq at all, a variable ,Gotterdammarung scenario.
