First, thanks for serving. I am pleased there is a different attitude these days towards the armed services.
With that said, I do feel they were used for a photo op. A memorable occassion for many, but never the less it was strictly a pol photo op. I expect may people will be used as the election progresses - by both sides, BTW.

And my guess is that GW's carrier landing would not have been scrutinized at all had he not chosen to masquerade as a warrior. His past records reflect his lack of interest in wearing a uniform when it really counts so I hope you can see how it rubs a lot of folks the wrong way when a confirmed deserter dons a uniform for political gains.
