Your post is another reason to do DD. How many times have people bought something having no clue what their financials look like to get stuck holding a loss. If you own a solid stock there is a good chance when the chart correction takes place it can go back up and you can be in the green again. If the stock has ugly financials a person could be stuck holding that loss for a very long time. Good financials will always out trump a short term chart play over the longer term IMO. No idea how many times I have seen someone buy a stock that was way over priced on hype and hype only. Some of these plays have huge losses and huge debt on hand yet people still buy the crap out of them on some daily hype Only to get stuck holding a bag for a very long time hoping it comes back to get even. Take some of these plays that we have seen on the board that are actually Deficient per the exchange.
"“significant deficiency” is defined as a control deficiency, or combination of deficiencies, that adversely affects the company’s ability to initiate, authorize, record, process or report external financial data reliably in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles such that there is more than a remote likelihood that a misstatement of the company’s annual or interim financial statements that is more than inconsequential will not be prevented or detected. A “material weakness” is a significant deficiency, or combination of significant deficiencies, that results in more than a remote likelihood that a material misstatement of the annual or interim financial statements will not be prevented or detected.
Sorry but this is exactly why I stay away from some of the plays that people are going after on the board. I see that Deficient symbol and I am like next!.
Then you have some of these plays that have more debt then many small countries and their business is falling off a cliff with no sign of a turn around. Again I do think DD is very important. I would say if people want to play these stocks with no real fundamentals then they should be doing it with clear funds. I would not be buying if I have to hold for 3 days for the trade to clear. I would say people just need to know what they are buying.
