#6248 RE: Ace Hanlon #6247

No, not Hitlerian proportions. The potential for any one person to become a Hitler always remains but has not yet been met. I have just had a rethink of this during the past two weeks. I will call Hitler the worst monster in history. But the Holocaust as deplorable as it was is not the most evil of horrors. Hitler’s insanity was directed primarily against a single group, the Jews. Gendercide directed primarily against females has long overtaken genocide directed primarily against Jews as the most heinous of crimes by way of duration. However, gendercide directed primarily against females unlike the genocide of Nazi Germany is not under the direction of one man. As far as atrocities committed against a single group, although not under the bearing of one person, the slaughter of newborn female infants which has been going on for thousands of years and throughout many countries and still continues as I type and is directed against one group dwarfs the madness we call the Holocaust.

I am calling this gendercide although of an extremely lengthy time one incident as I don’t see where our species has stopped the practice completely in all countries. I am speaking here of a daily slaughter.

In India alone one million female babies and fetuses are killed annually. Even counting only those full or almost full term babies born and capable of life outside the womb and not getting into midterm abortions, etc. we are probably looking at given the thousands of years this has been taking place and the number of countries that adhere or have previously adhered to this practice, close to a billion or maybe more murders? Impossible to say but way up there.

I am not positive the following excerpt is correct but standing back and contemplating the magnitude of this abomination will give some staggering numbers.

The same problem exists in India, where female babies are aborted or slaughtered at birth. According to some sources, the number is approximately one million female babies and fetuses killed annually. See Garda Ghista, “The Status of Women in World Religions,” http://www.proutworld.org/features/status.htm

Note: "Gendercide" is a sex-neutral term, in that the victims may be either male or female, thus I specify females.
