I'd say the advantage over NASI is that there is not always as much lag.
On the other hand, the lag is pretty severe in places and there are more whipsaws than with NASI.
Of course I could get rid of the whipsaws by replacing the raw indicator with a simple moving average and then taking an EMA of that for a trigger, but then I'd probably be adding a couple weeks worth of lag to the thing.
