For the record... OTC does not trade in extended hours. However, some trades are late posted, and sometimes prearranged transactions aren't posted until later.... many times to diguise what is going on. One example that I saw in Oct '99 was 2 late posted trades for WAVX? totalling 3.2 million shares at a buck. I saw that and bought some and waited. In Dec they got new mangement and backers, and the stock went from a buck to 15.5 in a few weeks... it was on the otc, and then moved shortly to the nas.
I believe that what you see premarket is market orders being logged. They then juggle the bid/ask to try and get more buyers/sellers so they can work the standing orders to their advantage. This morning was a classic example. They knew the news is coming, and wanted to load up, so they tried lowballing the bid at .75 and instead of getting panic sellers they got buyers..lol so the ask ran to .78? and the bid was .781. They then fill all the executable limit orders on the open along with the market orders and that is the opening volume.
The late posted trades were probably snatched during the day for a particular client by a brokerage/mm and not posted until after the close. The late posting could be either just technical reasons for being late, or deliberate to hide the trades from showing up on the technicals during the day. I also saw that the .75 low of the day was posted while the bid was .795
Let 'em play their games. I've got mine and they can't have 'em until I'm ready. No way am I selling until the next few months have a chance to let the game become more clearly defined. I'd like to sell about 10000 shares at $20 and then let the rest ride for retirement and a hedge against higher oil prices.
