Re: Again, who is the victim here? Who is being wronged?
Christ, Spall. The theater owner who pays the goddamn rent on the movie theater and pays the salaries of the ticket takers and popcorn makers. The movie producers. That's who gets harmed by your utilizing services for which you have not paid.
You are not thinking this through, Rogue.
Compare the following two situations:
Situation A: There are empty seats in a movie theater showing a movie that is about to begin. I have just finished watching a movie and I have no interest in paying to watch another. I would stay to watch a second movie, but only if it was free. Instead, I go home.
Situation B: There are empty seats in a movie theater showing a movie that is about to begin. I have just finished watching a movie and I have no interest in paying to watch another. I would stay to watch a second movie, but only if it was free. I movie hop and watch the movie that I had an interest in seeing, but only because I didn't have to pay for it. I took up no seats that would have been used by paying customers.
In both situations, I have not harmed the theater owner, his employees, or the movie producers. I have not deprived them of any revenue that they would have otherwise recieved had I not watched the movie and I have placed no additional costs on them by watching the movie. So how in anyway have I done something wrong?
