#67 RE: Was (Bob) #64

Through scheduling screw-ups, yes. The little league games are played on the elementary school fields. Sometimes different people in the office cross-schedule a LL game against football practice. Fortunately, when the football coaches arrive they are usually gracious about moving their practices to an unused part of the playfield until our games are over. But I've never had games scheduled head-to-head. If so, I guess I would suggest that the umps of that game and I would toss a coin for who gets the field first and who waits for the other game to end..

But this is a small town and everybody knows everybody so we tend to settle things pretty amicably. Except when the parents get upset with a call, then it's not amicable at all! But the volunteers -- coaches, umps, volunteer boards -- are pretty cooperative. Thank goodness!

We actually have more trouble with soccer -- their fields are adjacent to ours but don't intrued on ours the way the football ones do. But they tend to wander all over the place, kick balls indiscriminately onto the diamond at the worst moments, etc. Soccer players, IMO (and I was one in high school) tend to be less disciplined than football players.

How do you handle it?
